Rosary Coast to Coast will take place at 4 pm Eastern, 3 pm Central, 2 pm Mountain, 1 pm Pacific. The reasoning behind these times will be to support all time zones in full participation of events, aside from Sunday Masses. Indeed, the Heart of the Nation will be Immersed in the Hour Of Mercy. The National Rosary Rally will take place, as well, in front of the US Capitol on this day. Beginning with Mass at St. Peter s on Capitol Hill followed by a Rosary procession to the Rally site. Bishop Ricken s Listening Sessions Your thoughts, questions and suggestions regarding the sexual abuse crisis we are currently facing are very important to Bishop Ricken. As part of his action steps for accountability, Bishop would like to invite anyone interested to one of the following listening sessions: Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, De Pere Tuesday, September 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. St. Mary of the Lake Parish, Lakewood Wednesday, September 26 from 9-10:30 a.m. St. Francis and St. Mary Parish, Brussels Thursday, September 27 from 10-11:30 a.m. St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, Newton Thursday, October 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. If you are unable to attend one of the sessions, but would like to speak with someone, please call Ted Phernetton at THANK YOU! Thank You to the Mary Garden Guild members for maintaining the Cathedral Mary's Garden & Rosary Garden for another season of beauty! This 10th Anniversary brought more visitors to the Gardens, including over 200 GRACE diocesan teachers! Consider joining the Mary Gardeners to plant Spring 2019! Visit the Gardens behind the cathedral...look on the flower, think of Mary! Gardens should pray! Gardens should remind children of their mother. Gardens should be holy places that keep minds as fresh and unsullied as Madonna lilies. Gardens should chime with names that ring like the Litany of Loreto. And gardens, if they are truly Mary Gardens, will naturally lead to Christ ~Rev. James J. Galvin, C.SS.R.

5 Our new sung Mass Missa Simplex Last month, our Cathedral Parish began singing a Mass Setting called Missa Simplex, by Richard Proulx and Michael O Connor, O.P. The title is a reference to an ancient collection of Gregorian Chant Masses known as the Kyriale Simplex. Missa Simplex was composed in the style of the Kyriale Simplex Masses. Our new sung Mass is a great example of the Church s wish for us to sing music that takes on the character of our truly Catholic music: Gregorian Chant. However, Missa Simplex is a new composition, in English, much like our St. Meinrad Antiphons. If you are interested in listening to Missa Simplex at home, the entire Mass can be heard on Youtube at HOLY BAPTISM Congratulations to Lucas Arsen and Adrian Michael, sons of Michael & Lindsay Kolczynski, baptized on August 11 th. and Hadley Terese Kurkowski, daughter of Pawel & Lacey Kirkowski, baptized on August 12 th. God Bless You! PARISH PILIGRIMAGE On Thursday, September 6th, thirty parishioners had a wonderful pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. Upon arriving at the Shrine, we heard the complete story of Adele Brise and her commitment to the Lord. Our Lady appeared to her and asked her to teach the children their Catechism and how to make the Sign of the Cross. We celebrated Mass at 11 am. There were groups from Upper Michigan and Northern Illinois also in attendance. It was a communion of dedicated believers. We then enjoyed a box lunch. Our September Holy Hour was held at the Shrine with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Following the Holy Hour we walked the grounds praying the Luminous Mysteries of the rosary. Confession was offered throughout the day. We concluded the day with the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Please think about joining us next year. ~Deacon Tom WELCOME NEW MEMBERS! Raynard & Monica Elfering Chris & Shannon Greisen and Family God Bless You!
