Technology increases the demands on us and we all need a quiet place to refuel our spirit, otherwise all we share in our homes are fatigue and bitterness. HOLY TRINITY BOOK CLUB will meet on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center to discuss the book, Crooked Heart by Lissa Evans. Precocious 10 year old Noel, a boy of unknown origins, who was being raised by his suffragette and eccentric godmother, is evacuated from London to escape the Blitz after she dies. He ends up in St. Alban with Vera, thirty-six and drowning in debts and dependents. They team up to cheat and swindle their way through the war until a quest for justice complicates everything. In this beautifully moving book, the war is second to the desperate characters, balancing dark subjects and rich humor wonderfully well. All are welcome.
