3 Fr. Brian Bell, Pastor Faith Formation News Page 3 Dear Parishioners: When children grow up, they begin to doubt certain beliefs they had held as long as they could remember. Some of those beliefs stem from stories told to them by others to bring awe and wonderment to their childhood. Some are beliefs about how things work in the world, and some are concerning where they fit into that world. As children reach maturity, some beliefs will be verified and then held onto for the rest of their lives; other ideas will be cast aside for good, either because they have seen no evidence that attests to the truth of those beliefs or because others have convinced them through words or actions that those beliefs were in error. A great sadness results when someone disbelieves the truth because they have seen no evidence to confirm it. Thomas had a chance to believe because he saw Jesus and touched his scars. But there are people all around us who only see injustice, pain, and sorrow, and Jesus is nowhere to be found. Where are those who bear the name of Christian? Perhaps this Easter season, God is calling you to show the real Jesus Christ to others so they may believe. Yours in Christ, Father Brian T. Bell CHARITY AND DEVELOPMENT APPEAL Thank you to everyone who has made a gift to the CDA. Each and every gift is important and provides vital support to the programs and organizations who rely on the CDA. CDA funds allow them to provide critical services and resources to our parishes, diocese and local communities. It is not too late to make your gift! Our parish goal is 100% participation and $260,000. Currently 60.16% or our parish has raised $156, toward our goal. Please make your gift today. To all Confirmation and First Communion candidates. The last week of classes for the year will be this week April 9th. Please make sure your children attend as the teachers have class celebrations planned. Vacation Bible school for Elementary and Preschool students will be the week of June11th through June15th. Registration will begin in May. Please let the Front Office or me know if you would like to join us! 5/20 - "Baccalaureate Mass and Reception" (During and after the 11am Mass) - We would like to recognize, pray for, and celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating high school seniors at a Baccalaureate Mass on Sunday, May 20th. A cake reception will follow in the Parish Hall and all are welcome to join the celebration! 6/3 - "Teens Going Deeper" (After the 11am Mass in the Game Room) - During this event, we will have a time of singing, Gospel reflection from the teen perspective, sharing, and prayer!
