We have had quite a few kids in our program that are not officially registered so if you have a question if you are in the registration please stmj.dre@aol.com to inquire. All PEP registrants should be registered with St Mary s Parish. If you have not done so please call and ask for Dolly and she will be able to assist your family in getting registered with our parish. WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION The Office of Marriage Preparation & Enrichment is sponsoring the annual Wedding Anniversary Celebration honoring couples of the Diocese of Providence who will be observing their 25 th, 40 th, 50 th and over 50 years wedding anniversaries in The celebration will be held on Sunday, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Cathedral of SS. Peter & Paul, Providence and will include Mass, renewal of the marriage vows, a personalized certificate for each couple and a reception for the couples and their families. Bishop Thomas J. Tobin will be the main celebrant. Forms are available at the entrance of St. Mary s Church and St. James Chapel. All forms must be sent by August 17. Please give your form to parish secretary before August 10. RESPECT LIFE THEME 2018 BE NOT AFRAID Jesus is always with us. Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age..(matt. 28:20) Under the guidance of Our Blessed Mother, Do whatever he tells you. (John 2:5) Think about praying for an unborn baby and their families. Every day 4000 babies are killed by abortion. They have so little protection only the hand of God can end this. Prayer is the best weapon to help them the most effective. Say this prayer for nine months to save a baby s life. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much, I beg you to spare the life of the unborn baby that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion..being PROLIFE is: believing that a baby's life is a gift that should be cherished. believing that a mother is a precious human life with value and dignity. believing that all human life belongs only to the Creator who gave us life. believing that all life is God's to give and take. 4 Why does God love us? How can He continue to show us His unending mercy after all our sinfulness? Over and over again we commit the same transgressions, over and over asking for forgiveness. St Vincent de Paul and Blessed Frederic Ozanam were guided by this mercy and charity of God that led them on to help the poor. We as earthly creatures are continually disfigured by sin and infidelity but yet accepted by the members of The Society of St Vincent de Paul, following in the footsteps of the founders of our society. As we work for and visit the poor, may we reflect into their dark world of poverty and pain the light and love of our God. I should not consider a poor peasant or a poor woman according to their exterior, nor according to what seems to be the extent of their intelligence; for often they do not seem to have either the face or the mind of reasonable persons, so gross and earthly are they. But turn the medal and you will see, by the light of faith that the Son of God, who wished to be poor, is represented to us by these poor... St Vincent de Paul The Society of St Vincent de Paul tends to the needs of the suffering and poor. We are seeking new members. We need younger, energetic Catholics who are willing to help others. We have a great group of caring, fun individuals who reap many rewards by helping those in need. If you are interested in attending one of our meetings, please come check us out! This year they will be on Monday, July 30, Tuesday, July 31 and Wednesday, August 1. On Monday July 30 from 6 pm to 8 pm, there will be a Christian Concert by John Polce, Christian musician from Providence, R.I.. On Tuesday, July 31, Fr. Aniello Salicone will be our guest speaker and lead a healing Mass on Wednesday, August 1 from 68 pm each night. Fr. Will once again talk about the depth of God s mercy for our world and the healing mass on August 1 will bring us to that place of mercy and forgiveness and compassion. 5 Jesus sent out the disciples two by two, which certainly made traveling easier and safer. It is interesting to speculate about how they were paired off. Perhaps Peter, impetuous and outspoken, was sent with Thomas, unsure of what he did not see himself. Maybe Andrew, the fisherman traveled with Matthew, the tax collector. Who might have been paired with Judas? Yet despite the differing personalities and backgrounds and attitudes, they were all able to do the work of the Lord.

The Office of Life and Family has an ongoing support group for divorced and separated Catholics at St. Mary s Church, rectory (downstairs, side entrance), 437 Carolina Back Road (Rte. 112), Carolina, RI. It is held on the first and third Wednesday evening of each month, 7:008:30 pm. This free support group embraces our Catholic faith and provides a peaceful place for sharing, healing, and for topics related to separation/ divorce. Preregistration is required. Contact: Peter A.
