The Morning Prayer begins with a verse from the Canticle from the Letter to the Ephesians: Blessed be God the Father Cara leads us in a young person s Morning Prayer supported by music from Catriona Glen. Fr David Wallace, Chair of Glasgow Churches Together, gives a short reflection for Eastertide. Then Marie McNeil leads us in a prayer for people who are sick and for those who support them. This 30 minutes program is repeated every half hour until noon. At 12.00: from the Scottish Catholic Observer: the Mass launching the Paisley Synod. The Scots link with Ecuador, devastated by earthquake. The Pope speaking to Scots seminarians at the 4 th centenary of the Scots College, Rome. And a new film on children helped by Mary s Meals Generation Hope : a short service reflecting on God s goodness seen in the lives of our deceased relatives and friends and on the promise and hope of eternal life through the resurrection of Jesus. Sunday, 24th April 2016 I aid o ch ch ices 3 ds FREEDOM FROM TORTURE SCOTLAND IN GLASGOW As the only Freedom from Torture presence in Scotland, the Glasgow centre has been treating survivors of torture across the whole country since 'I know when I die I will still have the pain in my body from my torture. I live with it every day. Freedom from Torture is trying to help people out of the dark and into the light. They speak to me with respect and like I am a person; where else can I find this?' Ahmed, Sudan, Freedom from Torture Scotland client The following services are provided by Freedom from Torture Scotland in Glasgow: Holistic assessment, initially over 3 to 5 appointments to help survivors identify their needs and access appropriate support A counselling and psychotherapy service for individual survivors age 18 and over A systemic family therapy service, offering ongoing psychotherapy to children, young people and adults who identify themselves as a family A programme of group therapy for survivors of torture A Medico-Legal Report (MLR) writing service. The proceeds will include a donation to a charity, probably Christian Aid FAREWELL AND WELCOME: Fr John Gannon leaves St Albert s and moves to St Philomena s, Provanmill. We wish him every success and happiness in his new post. At the same time we welcome Fr Dermot Healy to St Albert s he has spent a long time working in South America and has much experience in justice and peace matters.
