3 We gather in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen Confession and Forgiveness If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 6 Apostles Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen Holy Gospel Mark 7:24-30 Glory to you, O Lord. Jesus set out and went away to the region of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know he was there. Yet he could not escape notice, but a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him, and she came and bowed down at his feet. Now the woman was a Gentile, of Syrophoenician origin. She begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. He said to her, Let the children be fed first, for it is not fair to take the children s food and throw it to the dogs. But she answered him, Sir, even the dogs under the table eat the children s crumbs. Then he said to her, For saying that, you may go the demon has left your daughter. Scripture: James 2:1-10, Psalm 149:1-4, Mark 7:31-37 Music: The River City Chorale; Andy Haase, director The River City Chorale is a large non-auditioned music organization based in Hudson, Wisconsin. The organization is comprised of youth choir, The Ensemble Singers (auditioned adult choir) and the large nonauditioned choir. The River City Chorale is a non-profit 501c3 that provides exceptional musical experiences to communities throughout the St. Croix River Valley. Haase is the founding artistic director and conductor Summer Music in the Sanctuary July 29 Vox Nova Chorale; Vicki Peters, director Vox Nova Chorale is an educational summer choir of singers from eight different colleges who work with mentors on singing, conducting, and composing. August 5 The River City Chorale Ensemble Singers, Andy Haase, director The Ensemble Singers, based in Hudson, Wisconsin, is an auditioned group of singers from The River City Chorale. Singers from Hudson, River Falls, Woodbury, St. Paul, Stillwater, New Richmond, Roberts and other river communities, come together for intense, challenging, energetic and most importantly, rewarding musical rehearsals and performances. The only prerequisite to the ensemble is that singers have previous singing experience and a passion for great music. Haase is the founding artistic director and conductor. August 12 Barbary Coast Dixieland Band In 1984, the band started playing Dixieland church services for their own churches. Over the past 30 years they have regularly provided this musical ministry involving over 40 Sundays each year. Their mission is to Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord, and their music provides an uplifting experience for both the musicians and the congregation. August 19 Charles Gray Family, and St. Andrew s Summer Choir Charles, the conductor of our St. Andrew s orchestra and professor of violin at St. Olaf College, will perform with his family: Deonne-violin, Cameron-cello, Brynne-violin and Kylie-flute.
