The term Maundy Thursday comes from Latin phrase mandatum novum, which means new commandment. 4 The Strengning Feast of a Loving Lord INVITATION TO THE LORD S TABLE All those who have pulicly professed ir faith and oined a Christian church as a communing memer are warmly welcomed to receive communion today. Non-communing worshippers are encouraged to contemplate love of sus Christ during this time. At Second Presyterian, we encourage our children not to take communion until y have oined church as communicant memers. CORPORATE PRAYER OF CONFESSION God, our heavenly Far, thank You that re was One who into earth s itter waters of evil, inustice, hatred, and revenge poured a crimson flood to ultimately make m sweet. Never was any man more unustly sinned against. The world He loved drove nails into His hands and feet. Yet He prayed, Far, forgive m. Remind us Lord that we Your servants are not aove You, our Lord. We confess that we are slow to imitate You, our forgiving Lord. Forgive us for times and ways that we have refused to extend to ors same grace You have given to us.
