2 A Letter from Father... Page 2 August 6, 2017 Going on in the Parish July has passed by and we move into August. The summer is half over and the rhythm of the parish continues to mark its life and celebration. Our new principal Mrs. Norma Gibson continues to organize herself into the running of the school. She has met with the school board and the meeting was very productive, ideas and dreams were shared. We have a visitor from Argentina. Fr. Luigi is with us once again to spend some time here preparing for his return to his mission in Argentina. You may catch him as he bikes around the city and up Mt. Rubidoux. He should be with us until the third week of August. The project Water for Uganda is very much underway. Sales of tamales and tacos have been done to raise money for the project. Soon a car wash will happen and so other events will be planned. The Piggy s In the Mud breakfast was held in the parish hall to raise money for the restoration of the stained glass windows and it was nice to see so many people take part. The maintenance of our parish plant is always a concern. We had to repair some of our air-conditioning units. Three water heaters will need to be replaced by new ones. As our structures are old, their repairs are a priority in keeping the parish in good working order. We are in the process of refurbishing the adoration chapel. From the plans that have been drawn up, it will be wonderful for our continual worship of the Eucharist. Through the summer months we keep on growing as a parish community. Yes, it s a time for vacations and slowness, but it is always a time to keep on building a family of love and unity. Let us all continue to make our parish the Christ family we are called to be.
