3 PARISH NEWS: CARDINAL S APPEAL IN PEW WEEKEND March Next weekend Fr. Michael will speak at all Masses and invite your participation in the Cardinal s Stewardship Appeal. For the past few weeks, our parish has actively been conducting the Cardinal s Annual Stewardship Appeal. Cardinal Dolan mentioned in his letter to all parishioners that the Appeal is the lifeblood of our Archdiocese and critical to the work and life of each of its parishes, including ours. As we consider our pledge to the 2017 Cardinal s Appeal, we recognize that all we have is a gift from God. As a sign of our gratitude, we respond with a gift to the Appeal, which helps all Catholic institutions do their work of ministering to the needs of God s people. This work includes caring for our retired clergy and religious, educating our future priests, teaching children the truth of our faith, supporting parishes that need help with their expenses so they can still preach the Word of God and administer the Sacraments. This work also includes ministry offices that reach people of different ages and ethnicities. During this time of economic hardship, this is the most important time to make a special sacrifice...and assist the work of the Cardinal s Appeal. If you have been thinking and praying about a gift or a pledge, we hope that you might be able to make a decision next weekend.
