11 9 Laying on of Hands and Prayer of Ordination Stand The Bishop lays his hands on the candidates heads. This is the traditional action of the conferral of holy orders. Then the priests lay their hands on the candidates heads. Through the prayer the Bishop completes the action of ordination. He asks God to grant the candidates the dignity of the priesthood for the building up of the People of God. During the investiture with the stole and chasuble, please be seated.
