It is a period of 40 days of repentance and prayer, fasting and abstinence, Confession and almsgiving. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which this year is on Wednesday, February 14 th. We would like to invite you to come celebrate St. Vincent de Paul s recently launched programs, and our organization s 60th Anniversary of service to the poor in Sonoma County! All proceeds from the event will support the St. Vincent de Paul Community Kitchen in Downtown Santa Rosa. This fun-filled event helps raise criticallyneeded funds to feed our community s most vulnerable at the kitchen. Every year, over 60,000 meals are served to hungry children, elderly folks living on a fixed-income, people experiencing homelessness, veterans, people grappling with mental illness, among many other conditions and walks of life. But we rely on your help and support to provide this service. Tickets are just $35 per person. Guests will be served hearty Italian food by our Sonoma County favorite, the Pasta King, and guests will also enjoy Hog Island s incredible barbequed oysters. Of course, this will all be in addition to excellent wines, great beer, and much more! You can purchase your tickets online at svdp-maincourse.eventbrite.com. Annual Ministry Appeal 2018 The Annual Ministry Appeal, One Family in Mission, will be conducted February 17 and 18. Our parish target this year is $47,778. Our parish receives 100% of what we raise over this goal. With your help, we can assure the continued support of many important programs that help individuals and parishes throughout our diocese each year; the Catholic education of our children and Seminarians, Religious Education and Youth Ministry, ongoing formation for our clergy, and more.
