16 Prayer of Intercession to the Immaculate Heart of Mary V. O God, come unto my assistance; R. O Lord, make haste to help me. V. Glory be to the Father, etc. R. As it was, etc. I. Immaculate Virgin, who being conceived without sin, didst direct every movement of thy most pure heart toward God, and wast always submissive to His divine will; obtain for me the grace to hate sin with all my heart and to learn from thee to live in perfect resignation to the will of God. Our Father once and Hail Mary seven times. II. O Mary, I wonder at that profound humility, which troubled thy blessed heart at the message of the Angel Gabriel, that thou hadst been chosen to be the Mother of the Son of the most high God, the while thou didst profess thyself His lowly handmaiden; ashamed at the sight of my own pride, I beg of thee the grace of a contrite and humble heart, so that, acknowledging my misery, I may come to attain the glory promised to those who are truly humble of heart. Our Father once and Hail Mary seven times. III. Blessed Virgin, who didst keep in thy heart the precious treasure of the words of Jesus thy Son and, pondering over the sublime mysteries therein contained, couldst live only for God, how am I confounded by the coldness of my heart! Ah, dear Mother, obtain for me the grace of meditating always on the holy law of God, and of seeking to follow thine example in the fervent practice of all the Christian virtues. Our Father once and Hail Mary seven times. IV. O glorious Queen of Martyrs, whose sacred heart, in the Passion of thy Son, was cruelly pierced by the sword foretold by the holy and aged Simeon; obtain for my heart true courage and holy patience to bear well the tribulations and trials of this wretched life; may I show myself to be thy true child by crucifying my flesh and all its desires in following the mortification of the Cross. Our Father once and Hail Mary seven times. V. O Mary, mystic rose, whose lovable heart, burning with the living fire of love, adopted us as thy children at the foot of the Cross, becoming thus our most tender Mother, make me experience the sweetness of thy motherly heart and the power of thine intercession with Jesus, in all the dangers that beset me during life, and especially at the dread hour of my death; in such wise may my heart be ever united to thine, and love Jesus both now and through endless ages. Our Father once and Hail Mary seven times

17 Novena to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God and our Mother, with the utmost confidence in your powerful intercession, shown many times through your Medal, we humbly ask you to obtain for us, the graces which we ask of you through this novena. Ask for a personal grace O Virgin of the Miraculous Medal, you appeared to St Catherine Labouré as mediator of the whole world and each soul in particular, we put our pleas into your hands and entrust them to your heart. Deign to present them to your Divine Son and to answer them if they conform to God s Will and are good for our souls. And, after having raised your imploring hands to God, bring them down on us and wrap us up in the rays of your graces, light up our spirits and purify our hearts, so that, guided by you, we will one day reach blissful eternity

18 Prayer of John Paul II - the Miraculous Medal O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. O Mary, this was the prayer that you gave to Saint Catherine Labouré in the Chapel of the Apparitions, more than one hundred and fifty years ago! This invocation, engraved on the Miraculous Medal, is now worn and repeated by the faithful throughout the world! Blessed are you among women! You are intimately associated with the work of our Redemption, associated with the Cross of our Saviour, your heart has been pierced, next to his heart. And now, in the glory of your Son, you never cease to intercede for us, poor sinners. You watch over the Church, for you are its Mother. You watch over each of your children. From God, you obtain for us all graces that are symbolized by the rays of light which radiate from your open hands, and the only condition that you demand of us is that we approach with the confidence, the hardiness, and the simplicity of a child. And it is thus that you bring us before your Divine Son. Prayer of Saint Catherine Labouré Whenever I go to the chapel, I put myself in the presence of our good Lord, and I say to Him, Lord, I am here. Tell me what You would have me do. If He gives me some task, I am content and I thank Him. If He gives me nothing, I still thank Him since I do not deserve to receive anything more than that. And then, I tell God everything that is in my heart. I tell Him about my pains and my joys, and then I listen. If you listen, God will also speak to you. for with the good Lord, you have to both speak and listen. God always speaks to you when you approach Him plainly and simply

28 Prayer of the Jubilee 2016 Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him. Show us your face and we will be saved. Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; made Peter weep after his betrayal, and assured Paradise to the repentant thief. Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: If you knew the gift of God! You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy: let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified. You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God. Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and that your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the blind. We ask this of you, Lord Jesus, through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Pope FRANCIS 28 28

Look with favor upon the pain of those who are suffering in body or in spirit, on those afflicted by poverty, loneliness, marginalization or ignorance. 38 Prayers to Saint Anthony Invocation (by Saint Bonaventure) Remember, O dear St. Anthony, that you have always helped and consoled whoever had recourse in you in his necessities. Encouraged by the great confidence and by the certainty of not praying in vain, I too turn to you, who are so rich in merits before the Lord. Do not refuse my prayer but grant that, through your intercession, it will reach the throne of God. Come to my aid in my present distress and necessity, and obtain for me the grace that I ardently implore, if it is for the good of my soul. Bless my work and keep sicknesses and dangers of soul and body far from my family. Grant that in time of suffering and trial I may remain strong in faith and in the love of God. Prayer for the family Dear St. Anthony, we turn to you to ask your protection for our family. Called by God, you left your house to consecrate your life to good works for your neighbour, and have come to the aid of countless families, even with wondrous deeds, to bring peace and serenity everywhere. Our dear patron, intervene in our favour: obtain for us health of body and spirit from God, grant that we may share in a true communion which will enable us to open ourselves to love for our neighbour; grant that our family be, like the Holy Family of Nazareth, a small house of God and that every family in the world may become a shrine to life and love. Prayer for the Protection of Children O Saint Anthony, we turn to you to place that which we hold most precious and dear under your protection: our children. While you were immersed in prayer, the Baby Jesus appeared to you. While you were leaving this world you were comforted by the vision of our Lord, and little children spread the news of your blessed death: look upon these children who we place in your care; help them to grow, as Jesus grew, in age, knowledge and grace. Help them to preserve their innocence and their simplicity of heart; grant that they may always have the attentive affection and wise guidance of their parents. Watch over them that as they grow in years they may reach full maturity and, as Christians, be examples of perfect faith. O Saint Anthony, our patron, be close to all children and comfort us too with your continuous protection

39 Prayers to Saint Anthony Pilgrim s prayer at the Tomb of Saint Anthony Dear St. Anthony, look kindly upon me as I stand at your blessed tomb. In my many needs, I have come here to pray to you, confident that in your compassionate goodness you will answer me. Present petition to God. Through your intercession, may He grant my particular request. My faith is weak; yours was firm and constant. Through your preaching you brought to life the faith of others; strengthen my commitment to the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ. Make me a faithful member of His people now so that I may praise the Father later in heaven. Glorious St. Anthony, come to my aid; protect me from all spiritual and bodily harm, and encourage me in my moments of trial and suffering. Bless my family and work. Be generous and kind toward your petitioners at your tomb and to those scattered throughout the world

40 Prayer To Our Weeping Lady of Máriapócs O weeping Virgin Mother, refuge of sinners, we call upon you to petition your Divine Son to obtain for us the forgiveness of our sins and an abundance of blessings for us and for those for whom we pray. Alleviate our sufferings, cure our ills, console us in our sorrows, help us to lead a virtuous life and guide us to eternal life. O weeping Virgin, Mother of God remember us before your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen Prayer to Saint Pio of Pietrelcina by John Paul II Padre Pio, Teach us too, we pray, Humility, that we may be counted Among the humble of heart In the Gospel to whom The Father promised to reveal The mystery o f His kingdom. Obtain for us an expression Of faith capable of recognizing Jesus In the faces of the poor and suffering. Sustain us during our times of trial And struggle and, should we fall, Let us experience the joy Of forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Teach us tender devotion towards Mary, Mother of Christ and our Mother. Accompany us on our earthly pilgrimage Towards the blessed Homeland, Where we, too, hope to arrive To contemplate eternally The glory of the Father, the Son And the Holy Spirit

41 Prayer to Eucharist Jesus By the Pope Giovanni XXIII O Eucharist Jesus Let everyone serve You freely, Conscious that if you serve God you reign. Let it be support of the weak, Comfort to the suffering, Way of salvation for dying people And pawn of the future glory for everybody
