Charismatic Prayer Group - This prayer community meets Tuesdays at 7 pm in the Sacred Heart Chapel. FAITH FORMATION YOUTH FAITH FORMATION Religious education classes are held from September through May, for students in the First through Fourth grades on Monday and Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:45 pm and for students in the Fifth through Seventh grades on Monday and Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:45 pm. Twelve Confirmation Prep sessions are required for Eighth graders who wish to receive the Sacrament. CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS The process where those inquiring about becoming a Roman Catholic are invited to journey with Church members in sharing their faith, while discerning God s call to conversion. Please contact the Parish Office for further information. PARISH MEMBERSHIP New members need to contact the Parish Office to register for an Evening of Welcome at which time the process of formally becoming a parishioner will be initiated. We receive many requests for certificates of sponsorship for Baptism and Confirmation. Certificates can only be given to registered members of the parish who actively practice their faith. Members are those who regularly attend Mass and participate in and support the life of the Church. SACRAMENTS BAPTISM The Rite of Baptism is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month following the 11:00 am Mass and the third Sunday of the month at the 11:00 am liturgy, except during Lent. Parents must attend an obligatory preparation session prior to the child s birth. Arrangements for a Baptismal date are made at that session. MATRIMONY In accordance with Diocesan policy, couples wishing to be married at OLL must participate in a one-year preparation program, which includes FOCCUS, Pre-Cana, God s Plan for a Faith- Filled Marriage, and required paperwork. Please confirm the date with the Church prior to making other plans. Marriages take place on Fridays and Saturdays no Sunday weddings. Greg and Fr. Len invite you to join them on a Jubilee Year of Mercy Pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi and other Italian Cities, November The trip includes breakfast and dinner daily, round trip travel via British Airways, and ground transportation to and from Newark Airport as well as throughout the trip. Sites to be visited include LaVerna, Greccio, Peruggia, Orvieto, Urbino, the key churches in Assisi and Rome with the opportunity to walk through all the Jubilee Doors of Mercy, a Scavi tour of the catacombs under the Vatican and a public audience with Pope Francis. Cost is $2,100 for double occupancy and $2,400 single. For further information, flyers are available at the Parish or Satellite Office along with the Parish Website. Space is limited to 43 participants. A NOTE FROM FATHER LEN Like the Magi who brought gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to honor the birth of our Savior, over the past month many individuals gave of their time, talent, and treasure to ensure that our parish celebrations of Christ s birth would be wonderful. I would like to recognize these contemporary gift bearers: our volunteer bulletin stuffers, Jesse Tree leaders and those that provided gifts for the needy, the Starfish leaders and those that brought food or prepared the bags of food for distribution, the Church decorators, the money counters, the Religious Education students that prepared cards and ornaments for the homebound, the Youth Group that visited the seniors, the Communion candidates that made the Jesus Tree ornaments, the Altar Servers, Lectors and Ministers of the Eucharist, and finally, the Music Ministers that enhanced so beautifully all our liturgies. The Magi brought the wishes of myriads of people to Mary and Joseph over two millennia ago. These individuals have keep that tradition alive. Come, let us adore Him, Christ our Lord. PAGE 4

The snow date will be Sunday, February 7 at 3:30 P.M. The Adult Choir, Youth Choir, Handbell Choirs, and Chamber Orchestra will perform a program of music from across the liturgical year. Locally, pilgrims are invited to cross the threshold of one or more of the 10 Holy Doors designated in the Diocese of Metuchen, where they may receive a jubilee indulgence during the year. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS 3RD ANNUAL COMEDY NIGHT SATURDAY, JANUARY 16 AT 7:00 PM Knights of Columbus Council 6930 will host their third annual Comedy Night Saturday, January 16, at 7:00 pm in. The Comedy Show will feature professional comedians that have been seen on HBO, Showtime, Last Comic Standing, The Tonight Show, and Comic View. This outstanding event benefits local charities supported by Knights of Columbus. Tickets are $40 per person and include dinner and beverages. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS The Rosary Altar Society and the Knights of Columbus are pleased to offer post high school scholarships to active members of our parish, who will be registered as full-time students for the fall 2016 semester. Potential candidates should visit the Resources section of the OLL website ( to download the requirements and application forms for each scholarship. Eligible candidates may apply for both organizational scholarships. All applications must be completed by Sunday, April 17, 2016 for consideration.
