One way we remember Jesus sacrifice and great love for us are by recalling his journey to Calvary. Calvary is the hill where Jesus died. We call this special devotion the Way of the Cross or the Stations of the Cross. We reflect and pray at the stations in our church. SATURDAY Men's Ministry 7:00 am-8:30 am Each week Men's Ministry meets to learn and discuss topics related to our faith and the spiritual life and what impacts our lives as men, professionals, husbands and fathers. 4 Alpha March 7-May 30 Sleep at home retreat April Alpha gives everyone the opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed, friendly setting. The Alpha course meets once a week for eleven weeks, in our Parish Dining Hall. Sessions begin with a meal, followed by a short talk and time to discuss the topic. We don t assume any background knowledge of or belief in Christianity and everyone is welcome. Please feel free to come to the first session and see what you think. 5 Teen/Family Adoration Crawl Holy Thursday March 29 7:00 pm Join us on Holy Thursday for Mass and Adoration - all over town! "Stay awake" with Jesus as we begin Easter Triduum. The Holy Father recalled that Holy Thursday "ends with Eucharistic adoration, in memory of the Lord's agony in the Garden of Gethsemane." While the ideal Crawl would be 7 churches, here in Brewster it's more difficult so we'll be focusing on Adoration at 5 churches. Register at 6 TUESDAY Engaging the Struggles of Your Heart: Pray through Scripture Feb. 13-April 3 JERUSALEM ROOM Engaging the Struggles of Your Heart, the second series in the Walking Toward Eternity Program is a challenging study that can open our eyes to obstacles in our Christian walk such as greed, envy, fear, and shame. Through prayer, reflection, guidance, and the aid of the Holy Spirit, we begin to engage these difficulties in a positive way as we continue toward our goal of union with Christ. Register at Surviving Divorce: Hope and Healing for the Catholic Family Every other Tuesday starting Jan. 30-June 19, every other week Surviving Divorce was created to bring hope and healing to those who have experienced the pain and loneliness of a broken marriage. It is for the newly separated and divorced and those still struggling with issues many years later. It will help them answer their questions, restore hope, and begin authentic healing. Developed and hosted by Rose Sweet, Surviving Divorce features experts Dr. Ray Guarendi, Ph.D., Fr. Donald Calloway, M.I.C., Fr. Steve Porter, S.T.L., Fr. Mitch Pacwa, S.J., and Christopher West. It also includes personal testimonies of Catholic men and women who have experienced the breakdown of their families. They courageously share their stories with heart, humor, and wisdom. 6 Family Movie Night Lion of Judah March 10 6:30 pm Follow the adventures of a bold lamb (Judah) and his stable friends as they try to avoid the sacrificial altar the week preceding the crucifixion of Christ. To the horror of his mother, Mary (Maia Morgenstern), Magdalen (Monica Bellucci), whom he saved from damnation, and his disciples, Jesus is condemned to death. He is tortured as he drags a crucifix to nearby Calvary, where he is nailed to the cross. He dies, but not before the last act of grace.
