Our Cathedral Parish extends a warm welcome to His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrios, to the Diocesan Consistory, to the Diocesan Board of Trustees, and to all clergy and laity from the Diocesan Parishes who are with us on Saturday, July 14 th for Convening of the Special Assembly to elect a successor to His Eminence, our late + Metropolitan Nicholas. We pray that their time with us will be enjoyable, and that they will have safe return journeys to their parishes and their families.

3 ANNOUNCEMENTS Congratulations to Brian and Jill (Eash) Solomon on the birth of their daughter, Cassidy Grace on April 27 th, and her Baptism on Sunday, July 1. Many Years! Welcome to altar boys from around the Diocese who are gathering in Johnstown from July 1-4 for the annual Altar Boy Retreat. We also greet the priests who have arranged the retreat and are counselors for the boys while they are here. Welcome! You will notice scaffolding inside the church. The stenciling around the large wall icons in the front and back is being replaced. Please excuse the temporary inconvenience. SUMMER CAMP Deanery summer camp for children in the parishes of the Johnstown Deanery begins on Sunday, July 22 and concludes on Saturday, July 28. Children will be transported by bus to and from Camp Nazareth. Forms are due by Sunday, July 8. The bus leaves for camp on Sunday, July 22 at 1 PM in front of the Cathedral. Jr. ACRY Our parish Jr. A.C.R.Y. will regroup on Sunday, July 8 following Liturgy. Young people between 8-17 are asked to meet in the Cathedral Auditorium. Stephanie Kobal and Tiffany Machik are the advisors. PARISH FLEA MARKET. is scheduled for Saturday, August 18 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Parishioners can begin bringing in used items starting July 15 NO EARLIER PLEASE! We will need volunteers to sort and price the merchandise each Tuesday from 10 AM to 12 noon, starting on Tuesday, July 17 th. Please remember no shoes, no hats, no adult clothes! CATHEDRAL SENIORS PICNIC The annual indoor picnic for our seniors is Tuesday, July 17 th (please note the date has been changed because of preparations the week before for the Special Assembly). The main course is hot dogs and kolbassi which will be prepared. We need our members to bring some kind of picnic food. There is a sign-up sheet in the vestibule. Please indicate what you will bring. PLEASE SEE PANI BARANIK FOR SCRIP. You can even use it for vacations! This is A painless fund-raiser! LET S HELP OUT THE CHURCH! NOTE FROM THE ED CENTER After the luncheon on July 14 th following the Special Assembly, the Center is asking men and women to stay afterwards to help take down tables and do general clean up. The more volunteers, the less time it will take to accomplish this task. Please consider helping out at the Ed Center. MANY THANKS! We ate grateful to Dave Dudak for making numerous repairs around the church. Thanks and Many Years! NEW PARISH DIRECTORY The new directory will be available around July 5 th. There is one, free of charge, for each family who photographed in the spring. Listen for an announcement when you can pick up your directory. PLEASE REMEMBER THE ED CENTER HAS METAL CHAIRS FOR These have been replaced by 500 new dining chairs. Our parishioners are asked to help defray the cost of the new ones by offering a $25 donation for one, or $175 for a set of 8 chairs. Donations can be a gift, or a memorial donation, which will be published in a later bulletin. Please contact Louise Brudnak or Donna Yarina. 5 PARISH PICNIC! Our parish picnic is scheduled for Sunday, July 29 th on the grounds of the Seminary. The food will be catered by Joey Del s 2001 Caterers who has done the picnic for us in previous years. Please note: we must have at least 80 people, otherwise we will lose a substantial deposit. PLEASE USE THIS FORM, FILL IT OUT AND INCLUDE YOUR PAYMENT, AND TURN IT IN TO THE CATHEDRAL OFFICE ABSOLUTELY NO LATER THAN JULY 22 ND. The charge to our parishioners is MINIMAL (the balance is paid by our Cathedral). The donation for adults and children over 10 is $5.00. The donation for children 6-10 is $2.50.
