CHURCH ACCESS FOR THE DISABLED Take elevator from the Parish Center Lobby at 29 Mount Auburn Street. Restrooms, handicapped accessible, are located on 1 st & 2 nd floors of the Parish Center. PARKING FOR MASS ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY Free parking at the Cowperthwaite Garage is available by permit only for those attending Mass on weekends only.

3 TWENTY SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME REMEMBER, RESTORE, RENEW WE HAVE SURPASSED OUR GOAL!! CHRISTMAS IN HARVARD SQUARE CD NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDERING! The Restoration Fund at St. Paul has surpassed its overall goal of $500,000. This is a wonderful accomplishment and a sincere thanks is extended to the many who have contributed so generously to make this effort a success. All proceeds from this Fund will support the capital needs of the parish. This summer the interior arch in the sanctuary was fully repaired following exterior repointing of the brickwork and airshafts on the Mt. Auburn Street end of the church that took place in the fall of Parishioners who have not made their gift to this Fund as of yet are asked to help us exceed our goal by prayerfully considering a gift to the Fund. Brochures detailing the need along with commitment envelopes and pledge payment schedules are available at the Parish Office. Thank you again for your generous support of St. Paul s Parish!! RESTORATION OF THE TABERNACLE TO THE HIGH ALTAR This past June on the Feast of Corpus Christi, St. Paul s Parish, with the approval of our Archbishop Seán Cardinal O Malley, OFM Cap. and with the full support of the Parish Pastoral Council, restored the tabernacle to its original location at the center high altar in the sanctuary of the Church. This location allows for a setting that is truly noble, prominent, conspicuous, worthily decorated, and suitable for prayer, as guided by the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM, 314). As people reorient themselves to the central tabernacle, the side tabernacle door at the St. Joseph s altar will be left open as a sign that the Blessed Sacrament is no longer in its former location, and is now located at the high altar in the center of the church. AN OKTOBERFEST THANK YOU!!! A huge thank you to Chris Cassani and Leslie McCarthy who helped make the Third Annual Oktoberfest a colossal success! The boys of the St. Paul s Choir School are proud to announce the release of their debut international recording, Christmas in Harvard Square, on October 7! Pre-ordering is now available through the Choir School website, Produced by AimHigher Recordings/Decca, the CD features 19 classic Christmas songs of both traditional and contemporary arrangements, including original arrangements by Director of Music John Robinson. By ordering directly from the Choir School s website, an extra portion of the proceeds will support the educational, musical, and spiritual programs of St. Paul s Choir School. ST. PAUL S CHOIR SCHOOL ALUMNI SUNDAY OCTOBER 26 11:00 AM Join us on Sunday, October 26th for the Choir School Alumni Mass at 11:00am. This year we will be honoring Nathaniel Adams, Class of A reception in DiGiovanni Hall will follow. PAUL S CHOIR SCHOOL CONCERT BROCHURE St. Paul s Choir School is seeking advertisers for the annual concert program booklet, which is distributed at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. We anticipate large audiences at our concerts this year, thanks to the notoriety the Choir is receiving for their CD, Christmas in Harvard Square. 4 WHAT S HAPPENING AT ST. PAUL S ST. PAUL S GIVING KIOSK Don t forget about the St. Paul s Giving Kiosk - you may have seen the kiosk in the vestibule! This new device offers parishioners a new means by which to make offertory donations via credit card. All donations made through the kiosk are credited to parishioner accounts. The kiosk also allows visitors the chance to make contributions. Check it out! SANCTUARY LAMP The Sanctuary Lamp, which burns for eight days and nights at the tabernacle, symbolizes the presence of Christ and marks the boundaries of holy space in the Church. PARISH OFFERTORY REPORT St. Paul s cumulative offertory for July 1, 2014 through October 1, 2014 (13 weeks) was $62, (includes lump sum payments of $ ). The cumulative offertory for July 1, 2013 through October 1, 2013 (13 weeks) was $81, (includes lump sum payments of $21,981.00). The financial report for fiscal year ending June 30, 2013 has been mailed to all parishioners in February. The celebrant will be Fr. Joseph Briody of St. John's Seminary, and the music will be performed by the Harvard Lambda Singers, a Renaissance choral group who will perform William Byrd's Mass for Three Voices. UNDERGRADUATES THEOLOGY BY THE SLICE On Wednesday, October 8th at 7:00pm we will have our first Theology by the Slice gathering in Adams House. Very Rev. Romanus Cessario, O.P. from St. John's Seminary in Brighton will join us to speak about "Meeting Christ in the Sacraments." Our Catholic Center Theology by the Slice series is an opportunity for students to gather in an informal setting to learn more about different areas of theology and to enjoy some great pizza as well! Fr. Cessario is world renowned moral theologian and he teaches Sacramental Theology at St. John's Seminary. There will be time to ask Fr. Cessario any questions about theology and the sacraments. All are welcome for this event. OFFICE HOURS FOR FR. MURPHY Undergraduate Chaplain, Fr. Mark Murphy will be having office hours this semester every Tuesday and Friday from 2:30-5:00pm. TOTUS TUESDAY AND SUPER TUESDAY This Tuesday and every Tuesday of the academic year we have Totus Tuesday from 8-9pm in St. Paul's Church. During this holy hour we have Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction, a priest available for Confession, a meditation from Fr. Murphy and some music. It is a wonderful opportunity to grow in prayerful union with Jesus. Following the holy hour is Super Tuesday at 9pm, where students come to the student lounge in the Catholic Center for snacks and conversation. All are welcome! ONE LIFE, ONE ROSE: OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE SILVER ROSE PROGRAM The Harvard Knights of Columbus Pope John Paul II Council One Life, One Rose: Our Lady of Guadalupe Silver Rose Program will be on Monday, October 6, at 7pm in the upper Church. The Silver Rose Program memorializes those not allowed to be born and the elderly and sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy, and entrusts to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, the cause of the sanctity of human life. Please join us for this beautiful service.
