If you are hearing impaired, and would like a remote amplifying unit, please ask an usher. Officiant: Alleluia! This is the day that the Lord has made. People: Let us rejoice and be glad in it. Alleluia! Confession of Sin The Officiant says to the people Dearly beloved, we have come together in the presence of Almighty God our heavenly Father, to set forth his praise, to hear his holy Word, and to ask, for ourselves and on behalf of others, those things that are necessary for our life and our salvation. And so that we may prepare ourselves in heart and mind to worship him, let us kneel (or stand) in silence, and with penitent and obedient hearts confess our sins, that we may obtain forgiveness by his infinite goodness and mercy. Silence may be kept. Officiant and People together, all kneeling or standing Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen The Priest stands and says: Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life. Amen. The Invitatory and Psalter All stand Officiant People Lord, open our lips. And our mouth shall proclaim your praise. Officiant and People Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia. Jubilate (Psalm 100) Be joyful in the Lord, all you lands: * serve the Lord with gladness and come before his presence with a song. Know this: The Lord himself is God; * he himself has made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise; * give thanks to him and call upon his Name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; * and his faithfulness endures from age to age.

3 Then follows Psalm 132:1-13 (14-19) 1 Lord, remember David, * and all the hardships he endured; 2 How he swore an oath to the Lord * and vowed a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob: 3 "I will not come under the roof of my house," * nor climb up into my bed; 4 I will not allow my eyes to sleep, * nor let my eyelids slumber; 5 Until I find a place for the Lord, * a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." 6 "The ark! We heard it was in Ephratah; * we found it in the fields of Jearim. 7 Let us go to God's dwelling place; * let us fall upon our knees before his footstool." 8 Arise, O Lord, into your resting-place, * you and the ark of your strength. 9 Let your priests be clothed with righteousness; * let your faithful people sing with joy. 10 For your servant David's sake, * do not turn away the face of your Anointed. 11 The Lord has sworn an oath to David; * in truth, he will not break it: 12 "A son, the fruit of your body * will I set upon your throne. 13 If your children keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them, * their children will sit upon your throne for evermore." 14 [For the Lord has chosen Zion; * he has desired her for his habitation: 15 "This shall be my resting-place for ever; * here will I dwell, for I delight in her. 16 I will surely bless her provisions, * and satisfy her poor with bread. 17 I will clothe her priests with salvation, * and her faithful people will rejoice and sing. 18 There will I make the horn of David flourish; * I have prepared a lamp for my Anointed. 19 As for his enemies, I will clothe them with shame; * but as for him, his crown will shine."] The First Lesson A Reading from the Second Book of Samuel, chapter 23, verses 1-7 These are the last words of David: The oracle of David, son of Jesse, the oracle of the man whom God exalted, the anointed of the God of Jacob, the favorite of the Strong One of Israel: The spirit of the Lord speaks through me, his word is upon my tongue.

4 The God of Israel has spoken, the Rock of Israel has said to me: One who rules over people justly, ruling in the fear of God, is like the light of morning, like the sun rising on a cloudless morning, gleaming from the rain on the grassy land. Is not my house like this with God? For he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and secure. Will he not cause to prosper all my help and my desire? But the godless are all like thorns that are thrown away; for they cannot be picked up with the hand; to touch them one uses an iron bar or the shaft of a spear. And they are entirely consumed in fire on the spot. The Song of Zechariah Luke 1:68-79 (Stand) Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; * he has come to his people and set them free. He has raised up for us a mighty savior, * born of the house of his servant David. Through his holy prophets he promised of old, that he would save us from our enemies, * from the hands of all who hate us. He promised to show mercy to our fathers * and to remember his holy covenant. This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham, * to set us free from the hands of our enemies, Free to worship him without fear, * holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life. You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High, * for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way, To give his people knowledge of salvation * by the forgiveness of their sins. In the tender compassion of our God * the dawn from on high shall break upon us, To shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, * and to guide our feet into the way of peace. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: * as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. The Second Lesson (sit) A Reading from the Gospel according to John the 18 th chapter, verses Pilate entered the headquarters again, summoned Jesus, and asked him, Are you the King of the Jews? Jesus answered, Do you ask this on your own, or did others tell you about me? Pilate replied, I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my followers would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here. Pilate asked him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice. Here ends the Lesson.

5 A Song of Faith (Stand) 1 Peter 1:3-4, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, * by divine mercy we have a new birth into a living hope; Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, * we have an inheritance that is imperishable in heaven. The ransom that was paid to free us * was not paid in silver or gold, But in the precious blood of Christ, * the Lamb without spot or stain. God raised Jesus from the dead and gave him glory * so that we might have faith and hope in God. The Apostles' Creed (Stand) Officiant and People together, all standing I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth; I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Lord, show us your love and mercy; R. For we put our trust in you. V. In you, Lord, is our hope; R. And we shall never hope in vain.

6 The Collect of the Day Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. The Sermon Kaeleigh Post Birthday and Anniversary Prayers The Prayers of God s People Please kneel or stand. The Leader and People pray responsively My brothers and sisters in Christ let us pray to our Lord for our own needs, the needs of others, and the entire world. We pray for the leaders of the world, especially Donald, our President, Pete, our Governor, Jeremy, our Mayor, our legislators and judges and all in authority, that we may know peace and be governed rightly. Let us pray for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness (1 Timothy 2:2) We pray for the leaders of the church, especially Justin, the Archbishop of Canterbury; Michael, the Presiding Bishop; Scott, our Bishop; Robert, our Rector, and Kaeleigh as she discerns her call to ministry. For the lips of priests ought to preserve knowledge, and from their mouths the people should seek instruction because they are the messengers of the LORD Almighty. (Malachi 2:7) We pray that you would fill us with your spirit and give us the gifts needed to do the ministries you call us to have. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain (John 15:16) We pray for the poor and disenfranchised, especially the unemployed of Grand Island, the victims of addiction and domestic violence, and those who care for them. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute defend the rights of the poor and needy. (Proverbs 31:8-9) We pray for a revival of your Church in this place, a pouring out of your Holy Spirit, and true repentance and amendment of life that we may come to know you and better make you known. Come, and let us return to the LORD; for He has torn, but He will heal us. (Hosea 6:1) We pray that you would make us better evangelists, with lips to confess boldly the work of Christ in our hearts and our lives having changed. The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. (Matthew 9:38) We ask you to hold our military in the palm of your hand, keeping them free from danger as they protect our country, strengthen and protect them day-by-day. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. (Psalm 91:11) We pray for the sick and those in need, those on our parish prayer list, and any you may now mention.

7 Pause The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven (James 5:15) We pray for the faithful departed, that they may see you face to face, and reward them with your riches in glory. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints (Psalm 116:15) Silence Celebrant: Lord, hear the prayers of your people; and what we have asked faithfully, grant that we may obtain effectually, to the glory of your Name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. The Peace Musical Offering During this time a collection is taken. The Great Thanksgiving Eucharistic Prayer A People Celebrant People Celebrant People The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give him thanks and praise. Then, facing the Holy Table, the Celebrant proceeds It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and every- where to give thanks to you, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. Through Jesus Christ our Lord; who on the first day of the week overcame death and the grave, and by his glorious resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life. Therefore we praise you, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who for ever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of your Name: Celebrant and People Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. The people stand or kneel. Then the Celebrant continues Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made us for yourself, and, when we had fallen into sin and become subject to evil and death, you, in your mercy, sent Jesus Christ, your only and eternal Son, to share our human nature, to live and die as one of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all. He stretched out his arms upon the cross, and offered himself, in obedience to your will, a perfect sacrifice for the whole world.

8 On the night he was handed over to suffering and death, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread; and when he had given thanks to you, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, and said, "Take, eat: This is my Body, which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me." After supper he took the cup of wine; and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and said, "Drink this, all of you: This is my Blood of the new Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of me." Therefore we proclaim the mystery of faith: Celebrant and People Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. The Celebrant continues We celebrate the memorial of our redemption, O Father, in this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Recalling his death, resurrection, and ascension, we offer you these gifts. Sanctify them by your Holy Spirit to be for your people the Body and Blood of your Son, the holy food and drink of new and unending life in him. Sanctify us also that we may faithfully receive this holy Sacrament, and serve you in unity, constancy, and peace; and at the last day bring us with all your saints into the joy of your eternal kingdom. All this we ask through your Son Jesus Christ: By him, and with him, and in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all honor and glory is yours, Almighty Father, now and for ever. Amen. And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to say, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, they Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, for ever and ever. Amen. The Breaking of the Bread The Celebrant breaks the consecrated Bread. A period of silence is kept. Then may be sung or said [Alleluia.] Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us; Therefore let us keep the feast. [Alleluia.] Facing the people, the Celebrant says the following Invitation The Gifts of God for the people of God The Communion of all Baptized Christians After Communion, the Celebrant says Let us pray. Celebrant and People Eternal God, heavenly Father, you have graciously accepted us as living members of your Son our Savior Jesus Christ, and you have fed us with spiritual food in the Sacrament of his Body and Blood. Send us now into the world in peace, and grant us strength and courage to love and serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
