1 THE ANGLICAN PARISH OF ST STEPHEN AND ST MARY MOUNT WAVERLEY WELCOME Trinity Sunday 22 May 2016 Christian Unity Ecumenical Celebrations Sacrament of Unity The Eucharist is the sacrament of unity. It makes us into one body. The apostle Paul writes: "As there is one loaf, so we, although there are many of us, are one single body, for we all share in the one loaf" (1 Corinthians 10:17). The Eucharist is much more than a place where we celebrate our unity in Christ. The Eucharist creates this unity. By eating from the same bread and drinking from the same cup, we become the body of Christ present in the world. Just as Christ becomes really present to us in the breaking of the bread, we become really present to one another as brothers and sisters of Christ, members of the same body. Thus the Eucharist not only signifies unity but also creates it. Henri Nouwen

For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 17 th Christian Unity Ecumenical Celebrations Trinity Sunday, 22 May 2016 Today we celebrate the Sunday for Christian Unity which the Inter Church Council has arranged an Ecumenical Exchange. We welcome Veronica and Stewart Nicoll from Holy Family Catholic Church, and from St Christopher s Catholic Church, Syndal, Philomena and Ron Joseph. Ruth and Doug Hastings are visiting Holy Family and Val Dyke and Joanne Burns are visiting Syndal. Please welcome our visitors to our church along with our official welcomers Jenny and Howard Brown and Marg Taylor.

This system when armed is set off by detecting motion inside the building. The system is controlled from the keypad located on the wall on the right hand side of the sacristy door. The keypad is password protected. If anyone has a need to go into the main Church outside of normal hours please check the keypad before entering the building. If the keypad is displaying Disarmed it is safe to enter. If the keypad is displaying Armed do not enter. Contact a warden or one of the clergy. The Wardens Election of Synod Representatives. At the close of nominations, we received 3 nominations for Lay Synod representatives therefore there is no need for an election. 5 Afternoon Meditation Gatherings 1 st and 3 rd Wednesday of the month at 2.30pm in the Chapel, based on Ignation Spirituality. A Sacred Space where you can find rest and stillness, listen and centre yourself. Spiritual food is offered to aid reflection and meditation.
