2 Welcome to Northlea! Northlea is proud to be a safe space and accessible for those with mobility assists such as wheelchairs, and scooters. We welcome pets and invite you to bring your coffee to service! If we can help improve your experience by providing you with assisted hearing devices, a large print hymn book or large print order of service, we have them just ask one of our Welcomers. Infants, toddlers, and children are welcome as part of our worship in the sanctuary! Following the first part of the service each Sunday, many of our children and youth go with their leaders to Cool Church. Children who are visiting are invited to join in! After the service, everyone reconnects in the Community Room over refreshments. We encourage everyone to wear name tags, so if you don t have one, and would like one, please let one of our Welcomers know. Today we remember and long for a sign of peace. It starts here, it starts now. On the west wall of the Sanctuary is the honour roll plaque of the members and adherents of Bedford Park Church who enlisted in the armed forces in World War II. The brass cross on the candle table is in loving memory of those members of Bedford Park Church who lost their lives in the World War II conflicts. They thank the congregation for remembering them and their fallen comrades. Thank you to the people who brought in pictures of family & church members who served. Entrance Kickoff Meeting Update "Eight Northleans met last week with Robert Pringle to talk about the Main Entrance to the Church. We got to see the doors being used many times by parents and children attending a Pawsitively Pets drop-in. Afterwards, the group had a great discussion led by Ray in the Narthex about the things that must be done, that should be done and that could be done with that area. 11

12 The group agreed that there are some things that need to be done, such as improving the heating of the vestibule, but they should be dealt with at a later date as part of broader review to take place sometime after Lee-Ann has returned. In the interim, it was agreed that we must replace the main entrance doors, the two doors in the stairwell leading up to Pawsitively Pets and the doors at both ends of the Narthex. Going forward, the group will work with Robert and Council in developing a project plan, agreeing on the design of the doors, getting cost estimates, etc. Stay tuned for more updates!" ECUMENICAL CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE SATURDAY NOVEMBER 17 & 24 Northlea United and several other area churches, are again sponsoring a Christmas Food Drive (the 47th consecutive drive!) to assist local food banks and agencies that continue to be in urgent need of help at this time of year. Flyers and lawn signs are delivered to area households in advance on Saturday, November 17 and food items are then picked up on the following Saturday, November 24. To volunteer, sign up on the clipboard outside the office or contact Roger Touw. LOVE JAZZ? JOIN US!!!
