Please do sign the Visitor s Book in the entrance vestibule. A crèche is available for babies and toddlers in the Session Room (through the door next to the organ). The words for the songs can be found in either Mission Praise (MP), in the Church Hymnary (CH), or will be printed in this Order of Service. Note that Mission Praise numbers 799 and over are only available in the newer edition. We use the New International Version of the Bible and copies can be found in the backs of the seats for your use. Our service this morning is led by Rev Douglas Wallace. 3 St Andrew s Parish Church Church Notices 1. Tea Room: the Tea Room will be open on Tuesday, 24 September from 10 a.m -12noon. Teas, coffee, home baking, books and bric-a-brac. All welcome! 2. Kirk Session Meeting: the next meeting will be held on Tuesday, 24 September at 7.30 p.m. in the Session room. A good attendance would be appreciated! Will elders please collect the necessary papers from their pigeon-holes today and come to the meeting having read them! 3. Ladies Group: an evening of music and entertainment has been arranged for Wednesday, 25 September from 8.00 p.m. in the Nazarene Hall.All ladies welcome and why not bring a friend along! 4. Church 2014 Diaries: these are now available at a cost of Please see Helen Gordon to get your copy and maybe buy one for a friend! 5. Sunday Funday Club Lunch will be held following the service on Sunday, 6 October. The cost will be Emmaus Group: the first in the next series of this informal discussion group will be held on Wednesday, 9 October at 7.00 p.m. at 30 Ness Drive. And thereafter on the following Wednesdays through October. 7. Sanctus Praise: the first of these joint worship services for this session will be held at High Blantyre Baptist Church on Sunday, 13 October, at 6.30 p.m. for refreshments and 7.00 p.m. for worship. 8. Salvation Army Christmas Carol Concert: The Membership Action Group are organising an outing to this concert on Wednesday, 4th December in the Rutherglen Town Hall. Tickets are priced 6.00 which includes transport to and from the venue. If you would like to go this outing, please give your name to Jean Murray who will be keeping a list. First come, first served. 9. St. Andrews Lunch Pensioners Lunch: The lunch this year will be held in the Parkville on Monday, 2nd December. A list of names is on the Notice Board in the vestibule of the Church and if you are happy to admit to being 60 and your name does not appear in the list, please let Marion Brownlie know as soon as possible. If your name is there, please just put a tick beside it to indicate you wish to attend. 10. Lindsey Cooper Collection: due to various travelling commitments Lindsey is unable to collect the various items requested, so has asked that you cease collecting meantime! 22 September

4 11. Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire: a new morning call service has been launched by VASL to give a morning call to elderly people to check that they are OK. It will run from Mon-Fri with a call each morning at a time that will suit you. If you feel you would benefit from the reassurance that someone will be on hand to raise the alarm in the event of any problems. 12. Machan Trust Autumn Fayre: will be held on Saturday, 5 October at Trinity Church, Larkhall from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. See poster for details. Pastoral Care Please remember Janice Elder, Charlotte Jack, Pearl Murray, Annie Orr, Lilias Robertson, May Scott, May Snaddon and Tom Watson in your prayers.
