Deacon Ordination The Deacon Board is pleased to present Edith Kennedy for ordination into Christian ministry this morning. All ordained clergy, ministers and deacons will participate in the ancient rite of the laying on of hands. Please continue to keep Edith in your prayers as she dedicates her life to Christ, serving the Lord through our church. All Deacons in the class will be recognized during the worship service today. We offer special appreciation to Claude Dishmon and Dan Sawyer, who will rotate off the Deacon board after serving three years of Christian service. Thank you! Special Music The gorgeous violin music that will bless our service today during the anthem is from Vicki Bayol and Emma Christine Morgan. We thank them for sharing their talents with us this morning. In Christian Sympathy Our thoughts and prayers to Patrick and Kathy McGahan, in the loss of her brother, Pete Lovell, on September 13. Mr. Lovell suffered a long battle with liver cancer and kidney failure. He was 63 years old and lived in Stafford, Virginia. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. A white flower has been placed in the service today in his memory. Northstar Event Join us for Northstar s Fall Gathering at the Museum of the Bible Exclusive Event! Sunday, October 1 at 4:30 p.m., we have been invited to Mount Olive Baptist Church in Centreville to celebrate this grand, located in DC, and officially opening in November There will be a presentation by museum leaders to explore some artifacts and test some state-of-the-art technology. The event is free, but registration is required. Please contact the church office if you are interested in attending. Haymarket Day The Outreach and Children s Committees offer sincere appreciation to the many donations of water, food, volunteers, monetary gifts and prayers to make this year s Haymarket Day another success.
