2 SCRIPTURE READING... Luke 12: Someone out of the crowd said, Teacher, order my brother to give me a fair share of the family inheritance. He replied, Mister, what makes you think it s any of my business to be a judge or mediator for you? Speaking to the people, he went on, Take care! Protect yourself against the least bit of greed. Life is not defined by what you have, even when you have a lot. Then he told them this story: The farm of a certain rich man produced a terrific crop. He talked to himself: What can I do? My barn isn t big enough for this harvest. Then he said, Here s what I ll do: I ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I ll gather in all my grain and goods, and I ll say to myself, 'Self, you ve done well! You ve got it made and can now retire. Take it easy and have the time of your life! Just then God showed up and said, Fool! Tonight you die. And your barns filled with goods who gets them? That s what happens when you fill your barns with Self and not with God. LENTEN EVENING SERVICE - Wednesday, March 13 at 7pm at Wesleyan Church LENTEN BIBLE STUDY Psalms For The Journey During this 6 week study we will follow the paths of the pilgrims who journeyed up to Jerusalem. Their story is told in the Songs of Ascent in Psalms 120, 124, 126, 129, 130, 132. Come join the journey March 18 th April 22 nd. This study will meet Mondays at 9:45-11:00 a.m. in the Lakeview Room, led by Pastor Victor. 3

4 UMCOR Sunday, March 31, 2018, formerly One Great Hour of Sharing, is usually received during Lent. It enables the United Methodist Committee of Relief (UMCOR) to reach out and ease pain and suffering by providing humanitarian aid after disasters. This offering covers administrative expenses so that 100 percent of donations given to particular UMCOR projects and appeals can go directly to them. Please refer to your bulletin insert regarding UMCOR Sunday. LENTEN SOUP LUNCHEONS will be hosted on Wednesdays at Noon, March 13 through April 10, here at Faith United Methodist Church. Faith United Methodist Church will be providing the meal for the March 20 lunch. PARENT'S NIGHT OUT - FRIDAY, APRIL 5, 5:30-10:00 PM. This is a free service offered by the church for child care, activities and light snacks for your children while you enjoy an evening out on the town or just some down time if that's more your speed. To reserve your spot, please call the church office at Parent's Night Out will be held the first Friday of every month. The Mission Team would like to collect enough pancake mix and syrup to feed the residents of the city of Waseca. Can we do it? Of course we can! Bring Pancake mix and syrup any Sunday. There will be a grocery cart or container for your donations. At the end of each month the donations will be taken to the Food Shelf. Please note that Stacy True, Administrative Assistant, will be out of the office on Tuesday, March 19. Next Sunday, March 17 is UMW Sunday. Our guest speaker will be Judith Clark who is our UMW Southern Prairie District Communications Coordinator and a retired pastor. Please join us to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of UMW worldwide. 4
