Our faith formation begins with baptism and continues throughout our lives. While having a background in theology is definitely beneficial, it is not a necessity to volunteering in an Adult Formation aspect. We are all learning! Opportunities with Adult Formation: RCIA Assistant: The RCIA Program is designed for those of other faiths or of no faith with a strong interest in becoming Catholic. Fr. Dave is the facilitator of this group. Bible Study Facilitators: Facilitators are needed to assist with group discussion for the DVD bible series. No theological background required; only a desire to learn with the rest of the group. The parish has purchased several DVD series to choose from; the newest is Follow Me by Dr. Edward Sri or you can suggest other options. Women s Ministry Member: This friendly gathering of women of all ages meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments, themed discussions, outreach projects, speakers, prayer, music and more fill the hour. All women of the parish are welcome. 8

Buildings & Grounds Commission: This commission deals with the ongoing upkeep of the church and all parish properties, including the rectory and cemetery. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the evening. Opportunities with Parish Properties: Building Care: Volunteers work on specific projects throughout the year that contribute to the upkeep of the church facilities. Grounds Care: Volunteers work specific projects throughout the year to contribute to the upkeep of the parish grounds. 9

The goal of this Ministry is to offer outreach opportunities for everyone young, senior, teen and entire families to become involved in a cause that works with your gifts, your passion and your heart. Interfaith Community Outreach Ministry Commission: This Commission is tasked with finding and implementing outreach opportunities within our community and beyond for our parishioners. One of the tools for matching individuals with their passion is the Spiritual Gifts Inventory. Outreach Opportunities in the Community: Dismas Ministry: Are you interested in being involved in various aspects of the jail/prison ministry? We work with representatives from all of the Catholic parishes in Rock County. Milton Community Action: Volunteers assist with the Milton Food Pantry. You decide the time you would like to give. Help is especially needed on Wednesday s from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Meals on Wheels: Volunteers bring food to the homes of people in town who need this service. Begins at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday for approximately 45 minutes every six weeks. Senior Stockbox: This is a program for low income seniors. Volunteers are needed to pick-up the Stockboxes from Echo each month and for an hour on the fourth Thursday of each month for distribution at church. 10

Volunteers in the Pastoral Care area help parishioners by providing Eucharist to homebound/hospital patients, provide blood pressure screening, pray with someone who has lost a loved one and provide a funeral luncheon for the grieving family. Opportunities with Pastoral Care: Pastoral Care Commission: This commission plans and oversees the ministries which are directed to the people of the parish who have special needs because of illness, age, loss or other difficult circumstances. The commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the morning. Lourdes Ministry: Volunteers in this ministry bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound during a friendly visit to the hospital, institution, assisted living facility or their home. Camillus Ministry: Volunteers share their medical talents to help parishioners maintain a lifestyle free of sickness and disease by working in the blood pressure clinic following the weekend Masses on the second weekend of the month. Rock Haven Birthday/Bingo Parties: Volunteers are needed to help with the monthly birthday/bingo parties at Rock Haven. The residents really enjoy the volunteers. 11

Additional Opportunities with Pastoral Care: Martha Ministry: Martha Ministry provides meals for a week following hospital stay for our parishioners. A Meal Care Minister is someone who provides a meal for a person who is returning home from a hospital stay. Bereavement Ministry Member: This ministry is in need of people to be a companion to someone who has lost a loved one, particularly during the first year of loss. This ministry organizes the Advent Bereavement Service and Social in early December. Widow Support Group Member: Anyone who has lost a spouse is welcome to attend. This group meets once a month on the fourth Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Ark. Opportunities with Funeral Luncheons: Funeral Food Volunteer: A funeral food volunteer is asked to prepare a hot dish, salad or dessert and bring to the church prior to the funeral. A food volunteer is not asked to do this for every funeral, but on a rotating basis. Funeral Lunch Worker: If you sign up to work at a funeral lunch, you are assigned to one of four groups; each group works every fourth funeral. Duties includes: set-up the dining room, work in the kitchen, and clean-up. You can pick your assignment, or you may be assigned one or more tasks by the group leader. 12

In order to provide additional services for our parishioners, and for building repair costs, we raise funds to help pay for these items. The reality is that without additional funds, many services are not possible, so to keep our church alive, we fundraise! Opportunities with Fundraising Efforts: Harvest Festival Team Member: St. Mary Harvest Festival is our largest fundraising event of the year. It is held on the third weekend in October and includes a meal, raffles, mini raffles and children s games. The Leadership Team consists of 25+ individuals who begin meeting in April to plan and prepare for this event. New members are encouraged! Rummage Sale Core Team Member: In July each year, we hold a rummage sale in our parish center. Volunteers are needed two weeks prior to the event to help sort and price donations. Volunteers are also needed on the day of event. Watch your for a Flocknote in June! Other: Have an idea on how to raise additional funds for our parish? We want to hear your idea! 13
