In particular, Isaiah s vision of a parched land that blooms with abundant flowers holds a message for each of us. Too often we are just like that parched land. We can allow ourselves to become absorbed in the waves of consumerism that grip so many. We look for fulfillment in the things that money can buy. Unfortunately, this leaves us like parched land, thirsting for something that money can t buy. This holy season has much to offer to quench our thirsts. In a word, this season offers hope. We are told that those who are ransomed by God will know joy and gladness. For them, sorrow and mourning will be no more. Let us place our hope in these promises. Copyright J. S. Paluch Co., Inc. If you are thinking of sending someone a get-well card, or a special occasion is coming up, a birthday or an anniversary, why not have a Mass said for them? Mass intentions are for the living as well as the deceased. There s no nicer way to offer tribute, or better prayer you can offer for those you love. They serve 750 to 800 People monthly which is more than 250 local families. Our Lord would want us to share what we have been given with those who have less. Presently needed are canned beans, meats and fish. Also peanut butter & jellies. Canned vegetables especially corn & green beans. Spaghetti & sauce, cereals, and pancake mix & syrup. Soaps, bath tissue, other paper products and shampoo are also needed. Thank you for your generosity. You will be blessed. Feeding the Hungry is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy. If it is too difficult for you to walk to the front of the church to receive Communion, please know that at each Mass an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion comes to the back of the church to distribute Communion. If you would like to have the Extraordinary Minister give you communion in the back of church, please let an usher know before Mass begins. This year 50 parishes, schools, and organiza ons collected an overwhelming amount of underwear, socks, undershirts, and diapers. Many of us take things like underwear for granted. Most of our clients don t have that luxury, but because of your generosity it will be one less thing that they have to worry about. Thank you for your support of Catholic Chari es and the work we do.
