Hope Demitry. The children will have complementary music as prepared by Sondra Awad and will participate in the Liturgy as well. Please make your hotel reservations early The group rate of $ tax per room will only be available through September 6 th. Are your dues current? 2 Conference of the Eastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians Hosted by Kimisis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church Holmdel, New Jersey Dear Church Musician, We are excited to announce that Kimisis Tis Theotokou will be hosting the Conference of the Eastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians This year s event will take place on October 2-5, 2014 and will bring together choirs from throughout the Metropolis of New Jersey for a weekend filled with rehearsals and fellowship. The weekend will culminate on Sunday morning with the celebration of the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrystosom with awe-inspiring music composed and directed by Constantine Limberakis. Just imagine singing with the voices of over 100 adult and youth choir members from New Jersey, Staten Island, Philadelphia/Delaware, Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Once again our youth are invited and encouraged to participate in the conference. The youth choir will be featured in sections of the Divine Liturgy and will be conducted by Sondra Awad. The Eastern Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians (commonly referred to as the EFGOCM ) was established in 1977 to improve the spiritual growth and musical knowledge of choir members, directors, organists, clergy, psaltai and the congregation through its music ministry; and to offer workshops, church music institutes and annual conferences to develop musical skills. In addition, the EFGOCM awards include the Patriarch Athenagoras I Medallion, scholarships to student musicians, and recognizes current church musicians for their years of service.
