PARISH FOOD PANTRY Non-perishable food is received before every Mass for the pantry, which is open Saturdays from 11:00am to 11:30am. CHURCH ACCESS FOR THE DISABLED Take elevator from the Parish Center Lobby at 29 Mount Auburn Street. Restrooms, handicapped accessible, are located on 1 st & 2 nd floors of the Parish Center. PARKING FOR MASS ON SATURDAY & SUNDAY Free parking at the Cowperthwaite Garage is available by permit only for those attending Mass on weekends only.

3 THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD FAREWELL MASS AND RECEPTION FOR FR. MICHAEL E. DREA Please join us this Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the 11:00 AM Mass as Reverend Michael E. Drea celebrates his final Mass as Pastor of St. Paul s Parish. Fr. Drea came to St. Paul s in 2009, and in his six year tenure has been an instrumental driving force for the Parish, Harvard Catholic Center and St. Paul s Choir School. He has led this unique parish with grace and joy to become the vibrant soul of Catholic Faith in Harvard Square. Join us following Mass for a reception in DiGiovanni Hall as we wish Fr. Drea well as he begins his new role as Pastor at St. Ann s and St. Brendan s in Neponset, and thank him for the steadfast support he has shown and given to St. Paul s. SPECIAL SECOND COLLECTION: CATHOLIC SCHOOLS JANAURY 16/17 Cardinal Seán O Malley has asked that on the weekend of January 16 and 17, 2016, there be a second collection for Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Boston. Proceeds will go directly toward these schools to assist more families with demonstrated financial need and to help grow enrollment. In addition, 50% of the donations collected at our Masses will go to our school. Thank you for your generosity and belief in the gift of a Catholic education. ST. PAUL S CHOIR SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE Prospective families and students are invited to the Choir School s Open House on Sunday, January 31 at 12:30pm during Catholic Schools Week. Come see the boys in action at the 11:00am Mass and then see the School firsthand and meet our faculty and administration. Boys typically enter the Choir School in the 4th grade, but we have a select number spaces for incoming 5th graders. All boys have the potential to thrive at the Choir School - please join us at our Open House and encourage others to attend. BIBLICAL ROOTS OF THE EUCHARIST Sunday, January 10th at 1:30 pm is the first class of ten in of The Biblical Roots of the Eucharist in the newlyenhanced-for-media library on the 2nd floor of the Parish Center. Join us as our video professor Brant Pitre takes us through Genesis, the Sacrifice of Isaac, the Miracles of Exodus, the Mysteries of the Tabernacle and more as we rediscover the Mass in the Bible. THE APPLE PIE BAKE-A-THON The St. Paul's Apple Pie Bake-a-thon is a parish fundraiser tradition and will take place Super Bowl weekend, February 5-7, We bake and sell pies over Super Bowl weekend to raise funds for our parish ministries. We need you to help achieve our goal. We bake pies from scratch on Friday night and all day Saturday. Pies are sold following the Saturday Vigil and Sunday Masses. Bryan Hehir at St. Peter s Church, 100 Concord Avenue, Cambridge on Sunday, January 24 at 6:15pm as he presents a talk on Pope Francis and the Church s Social Ministry. Fr. Hehir currently serves as the Secretary for Social Services with the Archdiocese of Boston and as the Parker Gilbert Montgomery Professor of the Practice of Religion and Public Life at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. MEETING CHRIST IN PRAYER MEETING CHRIST IN PRAYER can bring people to a new level of discipleship and a renewed sense of Christian mission. MEETING CHRIST IN PRAYER is an 8 week guided prayer experience based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. It calls for a commitment of eight weeks of daily prayer and eight weekly meetings of faith sharing.
