Nursing Home Mass On the Second Friday of each month at 10:45 AM volunteers pray the Rosary and attend Mass said by Fr. Pasley at the Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center at Virtua in Berlin. Carmelite Monks of Wyoming Mystic Monk Coffee is roasted by the Carmelite Monks, a Roman Catholic monastery in the silence and solitude of the Rocky Mountains of northern Wyoming. The monks live a hidden life of prayer and contemplation in the pursuit of God. The monastery is inundated with young men who seek to leave everything to pray for the world, in a tradition at least a thousand years old. An Invitation Father Hartman and Father Pasley offer Holy Mass on most, if not all, Mondays and Fridays for the residents/patients at Camden County Health Services Center and Virtua Health and Rehabilitation Center, respectively. We invite you to help in wheeling the residents to and from Mass. No obligation or commitment is required; it is just a matter of going to the facility (Blackwood or Berlin) on any day you are free to help us. Catholic Home Missions Collection Weekend of April 29th The Annual House of Charity appeal is underway. Please help Mater Ecclesiae to make our 2012 goal of $36, by returning your pledge card to the Rectory Office. We have so far raised $25,369 which is 69% of our goal. We need only to raise another $11,231 to receive a 10% check next year. That means we would receive $3,660 back from the Diocese. Please consider giving if you have not already done so. 6 April & May CAP Schedule We can be sure that we love God s children when we love God and do what He has commanded. 1 John 5:2 The Office of Child and Youth Protection is announcing CAP (Child Assault Prevention) sessions. CAP is the safe environment training program for adults who have regular contact with minors. Attendance is required in order to comply with the USCCB s Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The policy of the diocese is that adults will attend CAP once every five years. CAP 1 teaches attendees to recognize child abuse and neglect and how to report to the proper authorities. Adults are taught that children have the right to be safe, strong and free. CAP 1 is for new volunteers and employees. CAP 2 is No More Bullies, No More Victims and is a workshop on bullying awareness and bullying prevention. Cyberbullying is also addressed. Both sessions are 90 minutes. Adults must attend CAP 1 before attending CAP 2. After five years, adults have the option of attending CAP 1 again if they prefer.
