1 October 22, th Sunday in Ordinary Time MONDAY EVENING MASSES 7:00 pm teaching component will be the Liturgy of the Eucharist This Monday Evening will be our fifth in a series of eight teaching Masses. You are always welcome to join us as your schedule permits. After the eight sessions, we will evaluate where we go from here. This is one of the ways we are celebrating the Year of the Eucharist here at Holy Spirit. FIRST RECONCILIATION PREPARATION BEINGS THS SUNDAY AT 12:15 PM FIRST RECONCILIATION WILL TAKE PLACE SATURDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 2 If you have a child in the second grade or an older child who has not as yet celebrated First Reconciliation, the preparation process begins this Sunday at 12:15 pm. We will do our very best to prepare your children with the able participation of their parents for the celebration of this most beautiful sacrament of God s loving forgiveness. As you know, young and old alike, we all stand in need of the healing forgiveness of our God. We acknowledge that we are all sinners, and we entrust ourselves to the healing grace of Jesus. The merciful love of Jesus is abundantly shared with each and every one of us. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a most privileged opportunity for us to be the recipients of the Lord s forgiveness. CATHOLIC MINISTRY APPEAL The active phase of our parish CMA campaign continues. Thank you to everyone who has responded with a gift or pledge. If you have not yet responded, this would be a great week to join your fellow parishioners in financially supporting the many ministries of the diocese. The CMA affords each of us an opportunity to support the larger Church so that it can meet real needs throughout the Diocese. The giftedness we have, we are given to share. Have a blessed day. 2 Last Week s Stats: Donations: $8,459 Total Attendance: 637 Masses for the Holy Day (November 1) are 9am and 5:30pm. Masses for All Soul s day are 9am and 5:30pm, with the special Evening of Remembrance service honoring our departed at 7:30pm. All Saints Celebration! Pot-Luck Dinner and Prizes! On Wednesday, November 1, the Solemnity of All Saints, our parish will celebrate by throwing a party! Join us right after the 5:30p Mass for a 6:30pm pot-luck dinner. Please bring a dish to pass or a dessert. A sign-up sheet in the gathering space will help estimate attendance, but you are welcome even if you haven't signed up. Children of the parish are invited to come to the Mass dressed in a saint-costume. At the pot-luck, children wearing a saints costume will be eligible to win one of two $25 gift-cards to Yolickity Frozen Dessert Zone, 944 Hard Rd, Webster. TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY - a day that leads us to the heart of our Christian faith - leads us to mission! Your generosity on World Mission Sunday supports the work of priests, religious and lay leaders in the Missions who share our faith with those most in need. Knights of Columbus Baked Ziti Pasta Dinner The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a Baked Ziti Pasta Dinner on November 11th, from 5:30 pm till 7:30 pm, in the Parish Hall. Dinner will be a baked ziti pasta, with cheeses, homemade marinara sauce and meatballs. A salad, bread and drinks are also included. Gluten Free is available. Eat-in or take out. The cost is $10 for ages 13 and older ($11 at the door) and $5 for ages Under age 5 is free. Maximum family cost will be $30. 50/50 drawing and wine raffle. The funds raised will be used to support a local Seminarian in his education towards the priesthood. The Knights will be selling tickets after each Mass beginning October 28 th through November 5 th. Please call John Veloski at Please join us for Webster s Annual Festival of Choirs - November 5 at 7pm The community wide, sacred choral service will be held Sunday evening, November 5, 7:00 pm, here at The Church of the Holy Spirit. Ten choirs will be participating in this event sponsored annually by the Webster Council of Churches. Each choir will present its own anthem and all will join together in a 160-voice choir to present the anthem, "The Music of Your Love by Joel Rany and the benediction, "Go Now in Peace" composed by Don Besig. Gabe Pellegrino, Music Director from The Church of the Holy Spirit, will conduct the massed choir. While admission is free, non-perishable food and/or monetary donations will be accepted at the service. The evening s monetary proceeds will be used to provide Christmas gifts for needy and hospitalized children through Hope House, Webster Community Chest and Santa s Workshop for Hospitalized Children. Mark your calendars for November 5 th and plan to attend what promises to be a spirit-filled musical evening here at Church of the Holy Sprit. Rev. Paul J. Cuddy Assembly Fruit Sale This is the last weekend the Cuddy Assembly of Webster will be taking orders on the Fruit Sale. Available for purchase are navel oranges, pink grapefruit and a mixed navels & grapefruit option. Order sheets and information/price sheets are in the gathering area. Payment is due at pick-up on Saturday, November 18th between 12 noon and 2pm Trinity Church in Webster. For those that cannot pick up, we ll deliver. Any questions can be directed to John Veloski at Spirit-ual Sharing - Ladies Auxiliary Event The next meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus is Wednesday October 25 at 7 PM in room 3 of the parish hall. In this time of Halloween, the tendency is to focus on spooky events...rather than spiritually uplifting stories. We will spend the evening sharing stories of a positive spiritual nature. Please consider joining us to share your experience or just to listen and enjoy some cider and donuts. All Ladies 18 and older are welcome...membership is not required.
