The Eisodikon (Entrance Hymn) is O come, let us worship save us, O Son of God, Who art risen from the dead After the Little Entrance, chant the apolytikia in the following order: RESURRECTIONAL APOLYTIKION IN TONE TWO When Thou didst submit Thyself unto death, O Thou deathless and immortal One, then Thou didst destroy hell with Thy Godly power. And when Thou didst raise the dead from beneath the earth, all the powers of Heaven did cry aloud unto Thee: O Christ, Thou giver of life, glory to Thee. APOLYTIKION OF SS. MENAS, EUGRAPHOS & HERMOGENES IN TONE EIGHT (**When the bodiless one**) Since they had slain through their abstinence and struggles * the fiery ragings and fierce motions of the passions, * the staunch Martyrs of Christ God laid hold on the graces * to drive off the pains and illnesses of the sick * and work wonders both while living and after death. * Strange indeed is the miracle: * that these bare bones should pour forth * such overflowing streams of cures. * Glory be to our only God.

3 APOLYTIKION OF ST. ANTHONY THE GREAT Thou didst become like the zealous Elijah in his condition, and followed John the Baptist in his upright ways. Becoming a dweller in the wilderness, and an establisher of the universe by thy prayer O Father Anthony. Wherefore intercede thou with Christ our God to save our souls. KONTAKION OF PREPARATION OF CHRIST S NATIVITY IN TONE THREE (**The original melody**) Today the Virgin cometh to the cave where she will give birth in an ineffable manner to the Word Who is before all the ages. Rejoice, therefore, O universe, when thou hearest it heralded: Glorify Him, with the angels and the shepherds, Who chose to be seen as a new-born babe, the God Who is before all the ages. THE EPISTLE (For the Twenty-Seventh Sunday after Pentecost) The Lord is my strength and my song. With chastisement hath the Lord chastened me. The Reading from the Epistle of St. Paul to the Ephesians. (6:10-17) Brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand, therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace; besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. THE GOSPEL (For the Tenth Sunday of Luke) The Reading is from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke. (13:10-17) At that time, Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And there was a woman who had had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years; she was bent over and could not fully straighten herself. And when Jesus saw her, He called her and said to her, Woman, you are freed from your infirmity. And He laid His hands upon her, and immediately she was made straight, and she praised God. But the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the people, There are six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day. 6 FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT on SCRIPTURE: And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David. To be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with a Child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her first born Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and Saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men. So it was when the angels had gone away from them into Heaven that the shepherds said to one another, Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us. And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a Manger. Now when they had seen Him they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

11 ABOUT COMMUNION We are happy that you have joined us today. Indeed, we pray for the unity of the Faith for the day when all of Christianity are united as ONE and can share a common Chalice. However, this is not the case as yet. The Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist (Holy Communion) is offered only to Orthodox Christians who are in complete harmony with the Faith and prepared themselves through fasting and prayer. We hope that you do understand and if you have questions or wish to embrace the Orthodox Christian Faith, please talk with Father Elia. If you are a guest or otherwise not a regular communicant, please give your baptismal name when receiving. If you wish, feel free to share the Antidoran with those around you not taking communion.
