3 THE EPISTLE A Reading from the Letter of Paul to the Ephesians I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, and for this reason I do not cease to give thanks for you as I remember you in my prayers. I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power. God put this power to work in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. 9 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION at BETHESDA Advent Term Church School Classes & Youth Group December CHURCH SCHOOL children and teachers meet in the narthex of the church after communion, and walk over to the Parish House together. Classes end promptly at 12:00pm. Registration is ongoing. NOTICES During the month of November, the Eucharistic Elements of bread and wine are given to the Glory of Almighty God and in loving memory of Eunice Mitchell. The Altar flowers are given to the Glory of Almighty God and in loving memory of Joseph C. Palamountain and Eunice Mitchell. In our INTERCESSIONS FOR THE CHURCH today, we pray for Anglican Communion The Reformed Episcopal Church of Spain Diocese of Albany All Deacons Our Parish Institutions of Learning in Saratoga Springs A basket in the vestibule awaits your contributions of hygiene products to Economic Opportunity Council (EOC). These are taken monthly to assist those in need. Your assistance in gratefully appreciated. The ANNUAL CAMPAIGN for 2015 is concluding. Pledges have been coming in, with a total thus far of $134, If you have not mailed in your pledge card, please make every effort to do so. If you are willing to assist in the effort to label the Giving Envelopes in early December, please contact the church office at Join the Bethesda Youth Group on Thursday, December 4 from 5pm to 7pm for their annual Spaghetti Dinner. Proceeds from the dinner are used to purchase Christmas gifts for underprivileged teenagers in our community. This is a great way to kick off your visit downtown for the Victorian Streetwalk and Christmas Tree Lighting. Friends are always welcome. EXPECTATIONS FOR A PERSON TO SERVE ON THE VESTRY OF BETHESDA CHURCH The individual should be a Communicant in Good Standing, meaning regularly attending Sunday and Principal Holy Day liturgies; Committed to attending regularly scheduled meetings of the Vestry and serving on one or two Vestry Commissions, with consistent participation and commitment; A supporter of the ministry and mission of the Parish with a written, annual pledge; and willing to make special offerings as needed, when requested by the Vestry; Possess an understanding of budget/business practices to maintain the parish s financial vitality, including the raising of funds for special needs [capital campaign]; Attend the Annual Diocesan Leadership Conference in January/February; Be a positive and forward-looking advocate of Bethesda for the current and future years ahead. Starting December 14th we will be collecting EVERGREEN BOUGHS. The bottom limbs from trees can be used the following Sunday. Please leave them in the vestibule. Please save this date: December 21st after coffee hour we will be DECORATING THE CHURCH for Christmas. ADVENT CALENDARS are available in the back of the Church and are $5 each ORDO CALENDARS are available in the back of the Church and are $3 each.
