There shall be a time of anguish, such as has never occurred since nations first came into existence. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book. 2 Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

5 GOSPEL: Mark 13:1-8 The holy gospel according to Mark. Glory to you, O Lord. 1 As Jesus came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, Look, Teacher, what large stones and what large buildings! 2 Then Jesus asked him, Do you see these great buildings? Not one stone will be left here upon another; all will be thrown down. 3 When he was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked him privately, 4 Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign that all these things are about to be accomplished? 5 Then Jesus began to say to them, Beware that no one leads you astray. 6 Many will come in my name and say, I am he! and they will lead many astray. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed; this must take place, but the end is still to come. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. This is but the beginning of the birth pangs. The gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ. CREED We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,

6 eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. Constitution Review as many may have seen in this week s e-letter, we have a newly revised Congregation Constitution. Our current constitution was drawn up in the early 90 s to comply with the institution of the ELCA. As of 2016 the base constitution for ELCA congregations was revised and we have done our best to comply. So much so, that the Delaware-Maryland Synod has approved our revisions. We now offer you an opportunity to review the constitution and make any comments you deem necessary. Council members will be on hand in the chapel today at 12:30 PM and again next Sunday (11/25) at the same time. We will vote to adopt the Constitution as revised at our meeting of the congregation on 9 December. Thanks! Cookies make the world a better place! To that end, we're planning a Christmas cookie sale for the holiday season and are looking for volunteers. We'll need bakers, mixers, measurers, packers etc - all skills needed. We'll be baking on Saturday, December 15th at St. Mark's.
