1 KNOLLWOOD AT WORSHIP THE SIXTH SUNDAY AFTER EPIPHANY Sunday, February 12, :55 a.m. To those who feel the need of light; to those who find doubts and fears in their hearts; to those who need courage for their daily tasks; to those who feel lonely and friendless; to those who wish to give service; to all who, in faith, will support and involve themselves to the limit of their ability in the work of the Kingdom of God which this church undertakes; to all who want rest, peace, and happiness--this church invites you to the fellowship of Jesus.

2 KNOLLWOOD AT WORSHIP GATHERING FOR WORSHIP Please silence all electronic devices. Thank you! THE CHIMES Three chimes are sounded, awakening us to the presence of God, alerting us to the voice of Christ, centering us in the embrace of the Spirit. As we gather, we present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is our spiritual worship. THE OPENING SENTENCE... Diane Lipsett One: The Lord be with you. All: And also with you. THE PRELUDE Dearest Jesus, We Are Here... arr. David Cherwien Lauren Winkelman, organ THE CHORAL INTROIT Bless the Lord, O My Soul... Mikail M. Ippolitof-Ivanof The Chancel Choir Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. Blessed are Thou, O Lord, Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. Bless the Lord and forget not all his benefits. Bless thou the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name. He is full of compassion and mercy, longsuffering and great in goodness. He will not always be chiding nor keepeth He His wrath forever. ~from the Russian liturgy THE CALL TO WORSHIP... Diane Lipsett One: We have chosen today to enter this sacred space All: Drawn by your love and the hope of your grace. One: Your word instructs us to choose life and blessings, rather than destructive paths, All: By loving you, our God, and listening for your voice. One: We have come to receive strength and wisdom today, All: That we might choose to walk in your ways, even when we leave this place. One: Come now to each of us, Spirit of God. All: Rekindle our determination to choose your life and light in the living of our days! ~Dean Clifford THE INVOCATION AND THE LORD S PRAYER... Diane Lipsett *THE PROCESSIONAL HYMN OF PRAISE, NO. 356 All Creatures of Our God and King... All: It is right to give our thanks and praise! The Prayer of Confession Lord, your Word and your Life set a high bar for us. We confess that we often fall short of the purity of heart that you call blessed. Sometimes, we are like infants in the faith, not ready for the meat and potatoes of walking every day in love, justice, and humility. Forgive our frequent anger, our possessive and controlling actions. Forgive our failure to speak the powerful yes and no of simple truth. Forgive our divisive polarization. Help us to become obedient servants, working together to plant seeds of hope and peace and to bring your kingdom closer each day. ~Dean Clifford The Words of Institution Sharing the Bread and the Cup Gluten-free wafers available The Bread Draw Us in the Spirit s Tether... arr. James Biery Lauren Winkelman, organ 3
