13 285 - lanterndecke ceiling - roof beams. SJll see in Tajikistan. Tent hanging. Square vihara-type built around 538-9, making it Mogao s earliest dated cave. The square recess at the apex of the ceiling shows the Lanterndecke design but also has decoration of triangles and tassels, emulating a tented hanging. The motif continues at the top of the walls with a design of looped-up curtains. This became a common motif on ceilings to the Guiyijun period.
