1 KUM NYE TIBETAN YOGA European residential retreat From Friday, July 29th to Friday, August 5th 2016 with Arnaud Maitland in France Take note, places are limited. We invite you to participate to this in-depth seminar Gift of Kum Nye We will have one week of Kum Nye mditation retreat to submerge ourselves into Tarhang Tulku's three Kum Nye books, from 7 am to 21:30 with breaks and meals. We will start a few days with the first book: Kum Nye a tibetan yoga to release some tension and stress; we will ground in the body and invite the mind into the body. While the activating of energies in the body refreshes the senses, body and mind integrate in a gentle opening of the heart region. The next two days we will focus on Kum Nye for the Mind as described in the second book: Joy of Being. The final days we delve into the third Kum Nye book entitled: Kum Nye Dancing dynamically expressing the wholeness of our aliveness.

2 ''Kum'' in tibetan means the Subtle Body, the Body of Being. It is not confined to the physical body only. One can perceive it as being present in space. (body-mind unified) ''Nye'' means massage in tibetan.. Kum Nye is more than a framework of exercises, it is a system which embody knowledge Introduced in the West by Tarthang Tulku in the 70s, the theory and the practice of Kum Nye are described and presented in three books (published by Dharma Publishing in english). The first book: Kum Nye Tibetan Yoga Then the second book Joy of Being. And the third Kum Nye book Kum Nye Dancing THE TEACHER Arnaud Maitland JD. MA in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and psychology. He has been the student of Tarthang Tulku since more than 30 years and he is in charge to transmit Kum Nye in Europe. Arnaud is an international speaker, a director of retreats and he wrote Living without regret (2006) and Masterwork (2000). Now Arnaud is director of Dharma Publishing. THE FOUNDER Tarthang Tulku has studied buddhist tradition in Tibet. He is recognized internationally as an innovative teacher and a visionary thinker.

3 After ten years in India where he taught and published rare Tibetan texts, Tarthang Tulku settled down in United States in 1969 where he presents the benefits of buddhist philosophy to the westerners. In 1973, he has founded in Berkeley (California) the Nyingma institute where he established a method of deep relaxation, based on the knowledge of medical doctrine and therapies of his country, which enables to harmonize et stimulate the physical and psychic capacities.
