Acharya Ji is a versatile thinker, creative writer, poet, social reformer and an excellent orator. He has travelled in India and Abroad to promote Peace, Harmony and Non Violence. In order to give practical shape to these values he founded Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti and thus made his field of activities spreading throughout the world. He is an author of more than dozen books both in prose and poetry. He is a master in the field of Meditation, Yoga and Peace Education. His contribution towards Peace Education is an integration of age-old meditation and Yoga with current scientific research. It brings an end to the animal instinct in the human beings and awakens the human and spiritual values. Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni was honored with Ambassador of Peace by Universal Peace Federation in Interfaith Conference 2014 organised at United Nations. In the year 2010 Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni was awarded National Communal Harmony Award by Government of India, Honorable Vice President of India Mohd. Hamid Ansari and then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh honored Acharya Ji with the award. In 2006, Hon'ble Smt. Pratibha Patil conferred the famous 'Ethical Honor' of Gulzarilal Nanda Foundation to Acharya Lokesh Muni. In the year 2007 the honorary degree of 'Doctorate' was conferred on Acharya Lokesh Muni by the Indian Board of alternative medicines. Swastik Competition for all age groups (Sunday Sep 13, 11:45am 12:45pm) Continuing from the success of last few years, Swastik competition will be open to all age groups. Kindly note that a prior registration will be required. Please send registration SMS by Sep 9 to Dhaval Desai ( ) with the name and age of the participant. Limited slots available. Note: Only plain rice (white or brown) and dry grains should be used for making the Swastik. Colored rice will NOT be permitted. Base to draw the Swastik can be brought from home or can be provided on request. All materials to be brought from home by each participant. Chaitya Paripati Sangh Yatra (Sunday Sep 27, 8:30am 12:30pm) SJRS is pleased to conduct the Sangh Yatra this year as well, extending to our membership. Chaitya paripati is one of the five kartvya's of Paryushan. It follows the Jain traditional practice of "Local Tirth Yatra" by visiting Jain temples for darshan. Light lunch will be provided after the event. Kindly note that a prior registration is required for this event. A small token of registration fee $5/- will apply for each participant over 6 years of age. We encourage members for a generous donation to support this event. Shrutpragyaji speaks effortlessly and makes Jainism and its core principles accessible in today's world. This is much needed to especially ensure that the younger generation can start applying the principles of Jainism immediately.
