1 Ritual S-4 This ritual is called S-4 as it is a continuation of the spirit of, and thus the numbering sequence of, rituals S-1, S-2, and S-3. In this case, however, the S in S-4 stands for both Shekinah and Sanjusangendo. Its purpose is to twofold: to invoke the powerful serenity and compassion of Senjukannon, and to protect the temple. By temple, I mean the space in which the ritual is taking place, as well as the body and mind of the magician performing the rite. Secondarily, its purpose is to point out the correspondences between Golden Dawn and traditional Japanese Buddhist egrigores: Shakyamuni Buddha as the sitting Hierophant/Inner-Guru, Kannon as the dweller between the pillars whose hall bears her name, and the 28 guardians in a role similar to Horus, to guard against the forces of chaos and destruction which would seek to undermine or subvert the temple or its mission. I invite whomever is in possession of this script to explore any available knowledge you can find about the names and deities referenced within it. This ritual is being written for the secret temple of H. on this 29 th day of April, in the year of our Lord Yeshua, Is it to be shared with anyone whom the Imperator of said secret temple sees fit, or anyone with whom I share it, or anyone who is deemed worthy by one who is somehow in possession of it. LVX & Namaste, B.T. Step One: Purify & Consecrate, Bells, LBRP, BRH, Adoration, Invocation. Step Two: Middle Pillar, followed by the assumption of Kannon godform. To assume Kannon godform, first establish the rose pink sphere in front of you. After you have separated from the sphere via Sign of Silence, project with the sign of the enterer toward it, vibrating the Divine Name: A-VA-LO-KI-TES-VA-RA Visualize, about the pink sphere, the androgynous angelic form of a multi-armed god, still made of pink light. This is the Sanskrit name of the bodhisattva who embodies compassion. Project the sign of the enterer toward the heart-sphere of the god before you again, vibrating the Divine Name: GUAN-YIN The image before you becomes more defined, and also more particularly feminine. She has a thousand arms, and an eye in the palm of each hand. Whenever you call out for help, and someone lends you a loving, helping hand, that hand is hers. Project the sign of the enterer toward the heart-sphere of the god before you again, vibrating the Divine Name: KANNON (pronounced like Khan - Own ) Vibrate the name twice for the number of kanji letters which comprise her name, 観音, and allow the image to take on a very specific form: 1

3 Step Three: All present stand between the pillars facing west. Behind you, feel the presence of Shakyamuni Buddha sitting in the place of the Hierophant, deep in meditation. Step Four: Call upon the 28 guardians of The Buddha, in the Japanese tradition. As best you can, visualize them in a row in the western part of the temple. They generally appear as ferocious and muscular. Images of some of them are included on the next page. At first, they face east, so you can see their faces. After you have called upon all 28, allow them to turn and face west, standing guard on your behalf, as Kannon, and on behalf of the Buddha both behind you and dwelling within you. Allow your body-mind to become that perfectly still and protected temple in which your truest self can dwell in serene contemplation. Starting with the leftmost deity, closest to the southern wall: VARUNA, NARAEN-KENGO, DAIBENKUDOKU-TEN, KINNARA, KONJIKI- KUJAKU, DAIBON-TEN, KENDATSUBA, MANZENCHA, SHAGARA, KONDAI O, KONPIRA, GOBUJO, JINMO-TEN all of these are between the southern side of the western wall and the center of the western wall. The next four, visualize on surrounding the meditating Buddha behind you, ringing the bell once for each guardian: TOHO-TEN (ring), BIRUROKUSHA (ring), BIRUBAKUSHA (ring), BISHAMON-TEN (ring) Replacing the bell, continuing with the guarding just to the north of Jinmo-ten, completing the lineup of the guardians in the west. These remaining 12 guardians are standing from the center of the western wall to the northern side of the western wall, in the following order: KARURA, MAWARANYO, NANDA-RYU O, BASU-SENNIN, MAKEISHURA, HIBAKARA, ASHURA, TAISHAKU-TEN, SANJI-TAISHO, MAN-SENNIN, MAGORA, MISSA-KONGO, VAYU. Now that you have invoked all 28 guardians, allow the 24 who stand in the west to turn around and face west, guarding against the forces behind the Banner of the West, and beneath the Tree of Life. 3

5 Step Five: Standing as Senjukannon between the pillars, hold your hands together in prayer at the sternum, with your eyes closed, looking slightly upward and cross eyed, focusing on your third eye chakra. Know that your peace of mind, body, soul, and home are secure and protected. Know that these 28 faithful guardians will stop and send back any form of hostile energy from without or from within. Know that you can recall this protection, and be in the presence of Senjukannon and Shakyamuni Buddha by simply placing your hands together on your sternum thus, and closing your eyes and glancing upward toward your third eye. They will remain fiercely loyal to you as long as you, the Bodhisattva, remains vigilant, striving to live your own inner Buddha nature, which is to manifest your True Will. The Will is the Way. It is both Journey and Destination. Step Six: (Optional) Hold your mala beads between your thumbs, still standing with hands at your chest in prayer. Hold the guru bead between your thumb and forefinger. 6 Step Seven: Modified Final Release. Step out of Kannon godform, but let the form remain between your pillars, facing west. Return to the west of the altar, facing east. May the Bodhisattva of Compassion, known to some as Kannon, be present here now. Kannon, if it be your desire, I have created this astral shell through which you may illuminate this sacred space. Turn and face the west, seeing the backs of the 24 guardians. Place your left palm over your solar plexus, and (Optionally) hold your kongōsho, or dorja, on high with your right hand. As long as the serenity, compassion, and love of Senjukannon abides herein, your place is to guard her and to project her. Do what is in your nature to do, and guard this sacred temple. In and by the name of SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA (bow), So shall it be. Facing east once again, see the seated Buddha in the east with two guardians on each side, and Kannon between the pillars. All of you whose name I have intoned, do stay if it be thy will, or go if you must. You are welcome in my temple, and may there always be peace between us. I now release any spirits which may have become imprisoned by this rite. Go forth until thine own abodes and habitations, and go with the blessings of YEHESHUA YEHOVASHA (bow), and SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA (bow). Be there always peace between you and us, and be ye ready to come again when ye are called. For I now declare this invocation of the Shekinah of Sanjusangendo known as Ritual S-4 duly closed.
