2 James 1:5-8 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways. (ESV)

9 Wisdom in James If you think you are wise you are mistaken. If you are looking for wisdom in yourself, you ll be disappointed, for true wisdom comes only from heaven, not from man s making. If you are rejecting God, you are a fool, for he is the source of wisdom. Absolute wisdom is rooted in the absolute truthfulness and character of the creator of wisdom God.

23 How to Gain (True) Wisdom You must not only believe in God s ability, but also in his willingness to respond. You must earnestly seek him and with determination, ask for his wisdom.
