6 Introduction... This is a thought, consciousness, and life-changing book. It will cause you to change the way you think about yourself and your life. You were wise to purchase it because it means you are ready to be Positively Alive NOW. What I share with you in these pages, I have gained from my own experience in living now, many years of research, and from the experiences of others. This book is very simple. No big words or things you have to give a lot of thought to -- just practical, inspiring ideas for you to put to work now. In this book, you will not find long, complicated paragraphs that test your understanding, and deter you from living now. This allows you to use what is taught now rather than waste time thinking about it. However, do not misjudge the power of this book, or let its simplicity fool you. Dr. Emma Smiley, who was a Divine Science minister, and one of my mentors, once told me that the secret to success is simplicity. She had created some amazing things in her life and ministry by keeping things simple. Dr. Smiley was, of course, a very positive influence on me, which probably has a lot to do with my keeping my books, and everything I do in my own ministry, as simple as possible, and contributed significantly to my success. I want the readers of my books, E-Zines, and website articles, to use the teaching now, rather than to just think about it. An important thing to understand is the power of your spoken word. Everything in your life is established unto you through your spoken word. More about this a little later. Of great importance is the power of your. Your has everything to do with what you experience. They pertain to virtually everything you could ever want to have, do, or be. Each one states that the reader is now what he or she desires to have, do, or be. 8 Chapter 1 The Power of Your Spoken Word You have within you the power to make your life what you desire it to be. Your spoken word is not only powerful to make changes in your life; it is the power through which definite changes come about. Regardless of outside influences, you shape your life through your thoughts and words. You do this whether or not you are aware of it. When you know the power of words, especially your spoken words, you will put a guard at your lips and be very wise as to what words pass through, just as you will do the same with your ears so that you allow only that which is uplifting, positive, life-enriching to enter and find lodging in your thinking process. You simply cannot afford to be negligent about this. Words can make your life miserable or marvelous. It is up to you. Just as what you think makes you what you are, words mold and shape your life because words are the expressions of thought; ideas held in mind. Negative words result in negative, unhappy, undesirable experiences while positive words produce positive, happy, healthy, prospering experiences. Jesus Christ pointed out the power of words when He said, By your words you shall be condemned. And, Death and life are in the power of the tongue. You have the ability to change undesirable circumstances through the power of your spoken word. By using the positive statements in this book, as instructed, your thinking and your life will change. That is because you are sending out the right vibration into the Universe and it responds in like kind. It is the Law of Attraction working for you in a positive way. Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity School of Christianity, pointed out that spiritual thoughts are infinite in potentiality, each one being measured by the life, intelligence, and substance with which it is expressed. The thought is brought forth into expression and activity by the word. Every word is a thought in activity, and when spoken it goes out as a vibratory force that is registered in the all-providing, omni-present substance. In speaking words, you are literally moving substance, making a definite difference some where in some way. Most of all, you are making a definite, although seemingly imperceptible, difference within yourself and upon the conditions of your life. That is why there is specific benefit when you consciously and deliberately make positive, declarations of Truth by using the special affirmations in this book. To affirm something is to decree. You are decreeing that something is so, even though it might not seem to be. Doing this with understanding faith is sure to result in exciting, positive, and delightful life-changing experiences. It is much better to make definite positive declarations than to ignorantly decree (affirm) negative things. When you declare the Truth about yourself and your life, with feeling, you are amazed at the wonderful way in which God blesses you. A lady who was having some very difficult experiences, declared over and over: Through the power of my thought and words, positive changes are happening in me, and in my life now. She also decreed, I am

9 wise, loving, healthy, and happy, and God in me is blessing me richly and abundantly now! Her life dramatically changed for the better as she continued to speak her word. In speaking affirmations, you should understand that this is not something you do without feeling or enthusiasm. You do not try to change a certain condition. The only thing you change is your thinking. That s all! Your life and experiences will automatically change. 10 Chapter 2 Your Power is your spiritual identity. It is the real or Christ Mind in you. The is Being. The is the metaphysical name of the your spiritual, or real self. It is far more than the human self. The has its being in heaven; its home is in the realm of ideals. The is the pivotal point around which all of your thoughts revolve. It is part of your work to let be in consciousness the great which is always God in you. Charles Fillmore wrote: Hitch your to the star of the Christ, and infinite joy will follow as night the day. Individual consciousness is like a wave of ocean water as it crashes upon the beach. Everything that is contained in the ocean is also contained in the wave. In your individual consciousness, you have the freedom to act on your own without being manipulated by the rest of what you are, spiritually. This means that you may use your as you choose. You have the power and authority to make or break with no limitations. Your is your handle of power. Through your, you connect with great spiritual energy. How you use your I Am determines what your life experiences will be. For instance, if you say sick, you identify with sickness, and thus produce that condition in your body. If you say, I am broke, you do the same thing. On the other hand, when you declare, Healthy Now, you are in spiritual alignment with the Truth of your being, and, regardless of appearances, your body happily responds by being healthy. The same is true with prosperity. Prosperous Now, connects your mind with the idea of abundance, omnipresent God-substance causing it to flow abundantly in your life. You are always wise to be conscious of what you connect your with. Delete all negatives! Unify and identify only with positives! This book is a powerful tool for doing so. This is why I have written all of the affirmations in this book in the sense. When you unify your I AM with something, it connects your thinking process with the substance-energy that clothes that idea and moves it into expression in your mind, body, and life. It is always a good idea to listen to what you are saying. Then you will make sure you connect your with Truth, and what you want to have, do and be. This will absolutely cause you to attract into your life, happy, healthy, loving, positive, prospering and peaceful experiences. They will come, one after the other. But it all depends on the importance you give this activity.

11 Chapter 3 Your NOW Power Release the past and move forward! Once upon a time, a man trudged along a deserted mountain road. He was sad, weary, and hungry. Eventually, he came upon a monk sitting by the roadside and stopped near him. The monk asked, "why are you so sad and looking so tired?" The man answered, "because of this heavy load I carry." The monk saw no load and asked the man where it was. He said, "It is all the worries, fears and failures of the past." I ve carried them a very long way and I m tired. The monk then said, "See the edge of the deep canyon over there? Go right to the edge, lean out as far as you can, and scream out all the things you'd like to no longer be burdened with." The man was a bit puzzled by the monk s suggestion but decided to do as the he advised. It was very scary standing on the edge of the cliff, and even more frightening to lean out over that deep chasm, but he did, and screamed out all the negatives of the past. After a while, returning to where the monk had been sitting, to his surprise, he wasn t there. He wondered if he had just imagined seeing the monk being there. It was then he realized that he felt strangely lighter, and a little happier, too. No longer burdened by the things of the past, he felt a new empowerment as he went merrily on his way with an unfamiliar lightness to his step. From that time on, he made sure to never carry such unnecessary baggage as fears, pains of the past, resentments and worries. He carried only light, love, peace, joy and harmony. His life dramatically changed! It is always a good idea to release the past because this action empowers you to move forward. Releasing the past is a very freeing experience. When you release the past, you are no longer burdened with painful emotions and memories. Rather, you are free to live now, in the present, and to know that by your action, you are creating happy new memories that will bless you throughout all lifetimes. Free of the past, you are ready for new experiences. You eagerly reach out to life and to give back to life through the expression of your God-given talents and abilities, which have been suppressed too long. Through this, God blesses you richly and abundantly. If you have desired to start a new project or to pursue a heartfelt dream, now is the time to make your plans and begin. Questions may come to mind, but as you open your mind to God, He will provide you with all you need to step forward into your bright, new life. Decide now to release the past and let it go; and move forward into the wonderful good God has for you. He wants you to have that now. Just as living in the past is never a good idea, trying to live in the future is equally of no value. Sure, it is good to have dreams and desires, but they are best when you do not try to live in them before they arrive. It is always a good idea to visualize your desires in your wonderful imagination, however, never do so as in the future, but NOW. Many people make themselves unhappy because they are always thinking about the possibilities of the future while bemoaning the fact that they are miserable now. It is usually very frustrating when a person tries to live in the past and in the future. Neither exist, except in memory or imagination, so if you engage in this practice, you are trying to make something be that simply cannot be.

12 Years ago, I was very unhappy and frustrated. I was always either thinking of past mistakes, or wishing that things would be a lot better. I would spend time dreaming about a happier future. It took a long time for me to realize why I was so unhappy and frustrated. It was when I was introduced to Unity that I began to realize the importance of living now, of releasing the past, stop trying to live in the future, and make today the best I could. I struggled to implement what I was learning, so strong of a hold the old thinking had on me, but my thinking and my life did begin to change and has continued to improve. Now, life is truly wonderful. While I like to keep certain happy memories handy, I don t do so in a way of living in the past, and I surely do not give any substance to unhappy things. I love to dream and plan, but I do not try to live in the future. That is because I am so busy enjoying living now, I simply do not have time or desire to experience the old frustration. It is much better this way! As you work with these ideas, and especially, the positive statements (affirmations) in this book, allow yourself to experience each now moment fully. Accept that God is always now and created you to be fully alive now. You will be lighter and freer as you release the past and refrain from worrying about the future. Remember: Neither the past or the future really exist. So, in reality, you only have now. Make each now moment the best you can. Let the past and the future take care of themselves.

13 Chapter 4 Daily Declarations of Truth In Part Two of this book, are over 100 declarations of Truth. Some of these ideas may be new to you, or maybe not, however, I recommend that you take a non-resistant attitude toward them. This means to not judge or question. Just do it. It is best if you make your declarations audibly because, as pointed out earlier, there is great power in your spoken word. As you speak these Truths, do so with feeling. Allow yourself to believe what you speak is true. Speak each one over and over until your subconscious accepts them. You have the authority to do this. Use as many statements, daily, as you are comfortable with. However, focus on just one at a time, then release it and go to the next statement. It doesn t matter which ones you use, and you don t have to use them in the sequence in which they are presented. Pick the ones that seem to speak to you and focus on those. It will be helpful if you give energy to just a few statements each day. The main thing is to allow these Truths to find lodging in your consciousness. It is also powerful to take one or two statements into the Silence and meditate on them. You do this by speaking them over and over audibly and silently, let them go, and be still for a while. Do this slowly. Again, do not judge or question. Trustfully, accept and let it be. Feel the power of your declaration(s). The more faithful you are to this exercise, the more profound will be the change in your consciousness, and in your life. Do not try to make something happen, or to make the statement real in your mind, just let it be what it wants to be. Trust the process. Only good can come. Emily Cady wrote in Lessons In Truth, To affirm anything is to assert positively that it is so, even in the face of all contrary evidence. We may not be able to see how, by our simply affirming a thing to be true, a thing that to all human reasoning or sight does not seem to be true at all, we can bring this thing to pass; but we can compel ourselves to cease all futile quibbling and go to work to prove the rule, each one in his own life. We speak the word, we confidently affirm, but we have nothing to do with the establishing of the word, or bringing it to pass. Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee. (Job 22:28) So if we decree or affirm unwaveringly, steadfastly, we hold God by His own unalterable laws to do the establishing or fulfilling. In other words, you make your declarations of Truth while believing what you declare is true now. In reality, every positive statement in this book is true. They are pure Truth. As you affirm each statement, it should not take long for you to feel the power of what you declare. They all embody Truth ideas. The work you do in speaking your word will benefit you in direct proportion to the energy you give it. Do it with feeling. A good thing about this activity is that, it is accumulative. With each speaking of a word of Truth, power is building and compounding. Remember, with every word you speak, you send a message to the Universe. It is kind of like ordering something from a merchandise supplier. You put in your order, as-it-were, by speaking the statements. The only difference is that these are stated positively as though it is so now, which is true.

14 Speaking affirmations or Truth statements over and over is a necessary training of your mind. By this action you dislodge possibly long held false beliefs that need constant repetition of Truth to unclothe them, send to the trash bin, and to establish new, positive beliefs in consciousness. To the degree that you are faithful to this activity, is your life filled with new, more wonderful experiences. This too, is the Law of Attraction at work. Jesus said that when you know the Truth, the Truth will make you free. Faithfully using the Truth statements in this book is a dynamic way for you to know the Truth. Every word you speak is a step toward freedom. Remember this as you proceed. Actually, one of the statements declares: FREE Right now, speak this statement several times. Close your eyes and gently accept that this is true for you now. Dear friend, give your whole heart to speaking these words of Truth. Accept them as so now. Allow yourself to identify with what you declare. With each speaking of your word, your life is changing for the better. This is true because your consciousness is changing. Now go ahead and speak your word, using the positive statements on the following pages. Let your words be that which you desire to have, do, and be. Accept that this is true for you now. It is!
