4 Editorial Welcome to the July 2006 edition of the FREE THETA The Journal has been going for 18 months now and this is the sixth issue. Since the last issue in April there has been some interesting developments. A Movie about Scientology in the Freezone has been made. A producer from a production house in the UK approached the IFA about making a documentary about Scientology after being refused by the C of S. As we don t have the facilities to handle such a production I referred him to Ron s Orgs and out of that a movie was made showing the training progress of a student going through the study. By all accounts the student had a great time and the producer was happy with the documentary made as was Ron's Orgs. This can be expected to be shown on TV in the near future. Curiously enough the Church then decided this was not ok and have been trying to stop it being shown. Talk about suppression! The marysuehubbard.com web site was also suddenly and without notice, removed as the senior service provider that hosted the web site demanded it be removed. Nothing was forwarded to me on this and it was removed without any substantiated reason why it should be. After some rearranging with one of our hosts it was back up within 24 hours. Then I personally received a Cease and Desist notice and a demand for me to cough up some domain names from the RTC and CSI through their Melbourne legal representatives. After some legal consultations a response was prepared and send off. Currently we have heard nothing back. It seems we are having an effect and I have even heard whispers that the why for the Church s down trending statistics has been found by International Management to be the Freezone. Perhaps the Freezone delivers something the Church does not. Or perhaps the why really is God. And with the proposed rewriting of all of the original source materials to make it easier to read it is likely one can expect the down trend to continue as the church moves further and further away from source. This means we are going to have to beef up, expand, pour the coals on the purposes and be prepared to deliver! Michael Editor The International Freezone Association is expanding more and more! 5 The Aims of Scientology and the IFA Lafayette Ron Hubbard first issued the Aims of Scientology which of course still stands. Yet, despite holding a copyright on these aims the Church of Scientology, RTC and the CST do not appear to be following these aims fully. Therefore it behooves us to take some responsibility and set out our aims, based upon the aims that Ron first envisaged as something which we can honestly strive to attain. We therefore stated below: The Aims of the IFA To contribute towards having a sane society by the promotion, expansion and application of the technology to the point where people can live their lives in peace and security and without war or insanity and where they can honestly flourish and prosper and attain higher levels of spiritual being. The IFA is non political in nature and welcomes any individual of any creed, race or nation. The IFA does not seek revolution. The IFA seeks only to assist in paving the way for evolution to higher states of being for the individual and for society. After endless millennia of ignorance about himself, his mind and the universe, a breakthrough has been made for man by Lafayette Ron Hubbard with the philosophy and the technology he developed to free man from the shackles of his mind. According to Lafayette Ron Hubbard, "The combined truths of fifty thousand years of thinking men, distilled and amplified by new discoveries about man, have made for this success." We welcome you to the IFA. We would like your help in achieving our aims and helping others and we hope to be able to help you in return. 6 What is a Scientologist Michael Moore There has been some discussion recently regarding the use of the word scientologist The Religious Technology Center (RTC), holder of various copyrights and trademarks of the Church of Scientology it seems are attempting to monopolize the word and restrict it s use to those people whom they consider are in good standing as members of the officially registered Church of Scientology and that anyone who is not considered by that same church as in good standing with them, regardless of the reason why, cannot call themselves a scientologist. Although they do NOT hold a trademark or copyright over the use of the word, this does not stop them attempting to blur the issue and give the apparency that the word is copyright, they call it a collective mark. A dubious term at best and an outright lie at worst. Of course one could ask the question, why would anyone want to call themselves a scientologists? Perhaps for the same reason that a Christian calls themselves a Christian or a Muslim calls themselves a Muslim or a Hindi calls themselves a Hindi or a Buddhist calls themselves a Buddhist. Because they chose to announce their faith by demonstrating what they believe in to the world. It requires no copyright, trademark or thou shalt not call oneself a scientologist unless we say you can. It has nothing to do with any particular orthodox church. Indeed, there are established Jewish people by birth or religion that call themselves Jewish yet are not a member of any orthodox Jewish order. To call oneself an Orthodox Jew may require one to participate in the practices of the orthodox Jewish order. There is also the reform Jewish Church or movement. The Orthodox does not bring legal proceedings against the reform church because they call themselves Jewish. Perhaps we should call ourselves reform scientologists? In most of the countries of the world a person is entitled to call themselves whatever they wish in relation to their beliefs. And publicly state so as well. Now the scientology religion has an orthodox, if you will, church. This was set up by L Ron Hubbard the founder, in order to effectively disseminate the technology and philosophy he developed. He pointed out, on several occasions and in many written issues, that in order to achieve the results of applying the technology he developed, it needs to be understood fully and applied in the exact manner he proscribed. Part of ensuring this was done was the establishment of a church to act as a custodian for the technology so that it was not altered or perverted resulting in less or no results through misunderstanding and misapplication. Unfortunately, since the demise of Ron Hubbard, changes to the technology and the application have been made that violate this principle. Some of these may be found documented at In fact it is said now that the orthodox church intends to rewrite all of L. Ron Hubbard s work, including the original Dianetics: the Modern science of Mental Health on the basis that the public are too stupid to understand it. This, if true, would be a radical and major departure from the original scriptures, as the church likes to call them in court. So what philosophy is the church protecting? At this point a very brief summary of the structure of the church would be beneficial. A the top of the lucrative fiscal food chain you have Church of Spiritual Technology (CST). Contrary to the name this is not a church but a privately owned corporation.. Ron Hubbard. They license these trademarks and copyrights to the Church of Scientology international who have first rights to the

7 use of the trademarks and copyrights but legally and, if felt so disposed, could rescind this license at anytime. So the Church of Scientology does not actually own the copyrights or trademarks it uses, but pays a private company for the right to use them. This amounts to millions of dollars per year. Being a private company no financial statements or balance sheets are issued by the CST at any time. The directors are, for the most part, NOT scientologists. Their directors fees are not disclosed and the use of the many millions of dollars obtained is not disclosed either. Interesting! But what has this to do with the attempt to monopolies the word scientologist you may ask? There are many people outside of the church who have either been booted out or have no wish to belong to the official church. In fact almost ALL of the original experienced scientologists who assisted Ron Hubbard to in building up the church and the Saint Hill organizations to their, now former glory, have all been excommunicated or, in church parlance, declared. However that does not immediately mean they are no longer scientologists. Just no longer members of the official church. The two states are not synonymous, or in scientological terms, not an A=A=A. The definition of a scientologist as per the published works of Ron Hubbard, as written by the originator of the philosophy and technology himself specifically in the book, The Dianetics and Scientology Technical Dictionary by L. Ron Hubbard, published by Author Services, a name by which the RTC goes by, states: SCIENTOLOGIST, 1. one who betters the conditions of himself and the conditions of others by using Scn technology. 2. one who controls persons, environments and situations. A Scientologist operates within the boundaries of the Auditor's Code and the Code of a Scientologist. 3. one who understands life. His technical skill is devoted to the resolution of the problems of life. 4. a specialist in spiritual and human affairs. Looking very carefully I do not see it mentioned anywhere in that officially approved definition, that one is obliged to be an officially approved member of the Church of Scientology. The word scientology itself does not mean, that which is owned by the Church of Scientology and that which can only be practiced by the church known as the Church of Scientology. Indeed in that very same dictionary the word is defined as, a science of life. It is the one thing senior to life because it handles all the factors of life. It contains the data necessary to live as a free being. A reality in Scientology is a reality on life. Indeed there is probably legal cause to object to the registration of the words Scientology, Hubbard and L. Ron Hubbard, as a generic name for a religion (which the church was keen to have established by the High Court in the USA) interestingly enough, and respectively the name L. Ron Hubbard and Hubbard is a name of an individual. And as Ron Hubbard himself pointed out on more than one occasion, "I know no man who has any monopoly upon the wisdom of this universe. It belongs to those who can use it to help themselves and others." And "People look on this as being 'my science'. Yeah, I own all of your postulates. I bought them one day at a raffle. Like the devil I did! About the only thing, as I told you the other day, that I have done is organize and put together, and maybe I can look a little bit better than anybody else has been looking for a long time, and so I can see it. Ron Hubbard, who founded the very groups which comprises the Church of Scientology, then the Creed of the Church of Scientology should also be studiously followed, and I quote. Continued on page 13

8 Ron Says Ron s Quotes from LR s notebook In each issue of the Free Theta we present some quotes by Ron from LR s extensive Notebook of Quotes. In this issue the accent is on: Freedom! SCIENTOLOGY FREEDOM: Ability to create and position energy or matter in time and space. PAB 84 THE REASON WHY The reason for existence is the same reason as one has to play a game interest, contest, activity and possession. Freedom exists amongst barriers. A totality of barriers and a totality of freedom alike are no game conditions. Each is similarly cruel, each is similarly purposeless. Unlimited freedom is the road to failure. Only the afraid and ignorant insist upon unlimited barriers. Barriers are composed of inhibiting ideas, space, energy, masses and time. Freedom in its entirety would be a total absence of these things, but it would also be a freedom without thought or action, an unhappy condition of total nothingness. Fixed on too many barriers, Man yearns to be free. But launched into total freedom, he is purposeless and miserable. There is freedom amongst barriers. If the barriers and the freedoms are known, there can be a game. Without known restrictions, one is a slave, doomed to the fears of uncertainty in all his actions. "Freedom from" is all right only so long as there is a place to be free TO. Endless freedom from is a perfect trap, a fear of all things. AIMS AND GOALS OF SCIENTOLOGY To say that we are about to free all of man would be the same thing as saying we are about to kick everybody overboard. You see? I mean, that's as outrageous a statement as that. We hear a great deal of political claptrap; people pounding the drum and saying "liberty, liberty, freedom, freedom." And we have eventually worn this word freedom down to a point where the only way they can get the public to accept it is to say "freedom from." You re evaluate this word and we get all sorts of oddities, but when we say "freedom" we mean "not connected to." And an ultimate or absolute freedom can be described, and maybe is attainable and maybe not, but it is not even connected with space. We had the idea freedom is lots of space. Actually, that's a low toned definition of freedom. You wouldn't even have to worry about space if you were really free, you see? Also, you wouldn't have to talk to any of your friends. Also, you could never enjoy a movie. Also, you'd never have to go through all of the worry of what you're going to do with your winnings. You see, we can immediately run down this whole thing called an ultimate freedom. As a matter of fact, I imagine that sometime or another, some pundit or philosopher has come along and he's said, "Why, what we need is slavery." And he's gotten a complete revolution going, simply because people objected to being that free, you see? "Slavery for the," and had everybody in there fighting to get more slavery. And everybody fighting to get it, too. Very possible. I mean, it's quite as idiotic to take an ultimate freedom as an ultimate goal as it would be to take ultimate slavery for an ultimate goal. Both of them are quite unreasonable and certainly not within, one, our

9 frame of recognition, and two, unfortunately, not within our experience in processing. That's what's important. If we start processing somebody toward freedom, we're going to have to make nothing out of everything, including space, aren't we? Well, you just start making nothing out of a preclear in all directions as a consistent level, and find out where he goes. He goes down, down, down no preclear. It's an interesting phenomenon, an auditor sitting there wondering where his preclear went. Sometimes embarrassing. I remember one time at three o'clock in the morning, sitting in an auditing chair, looking at the limp body in front of me, saying, "Well, now..." Maybe his game at the beginning is just to show you you're a bum. You're not going to take that game away from him without giving him a better game. It's hard to believe that somebody who is lying there in catatonic schizophrenia is playing a game, but I'm afraid that's about all the game they can play. And your task of restoring a better game to them is quite considerable because part of their game is not communicating with you. The human race is apparently playing a game called penalties more than they play anything else. Of course. problems can be penalties, havingness can be penalties, freedom can be penalties, alike. The mood of game is simply that mood which an individual believes is best to use in the playing of that particular game. And he gets his games and his mood mixed, and loses control of them, gets fixed one way or the other in some mood, and we say he's fixed on the Tone Scale. And so he is. ESSENCE OF AUDITING - KNOW TO MYSTERY SCALE So, we look over this game called life and we find an individual, if he were totally free, would have no game. He actually has to consciously step down from a higher activity of freedom in order to have a game or have any mass around at all. If we were to take everything away from him, he would be a very unhappy thetan. He'd be totally free, but he'd be very unhappy. He wouldn't have any problems, wouldn't have anything to solve. And this is what we run up against in every preclear we process. Now, you listen. You guys remember this because I'm never going to tell you again, I'm sure, because it's so damned obvious. This is one of those horrible obvious things, you know, that just sort of flies by and you never pay much attention to it. But do you know what there's only one thing that cannot as is. When we say as is we mean erase or disappear or have nothing made of it. What is that? Freedom won't erase. We can look all we want to at this dwindling spiral and say aren't these people awfully bad off and everybody's going to the dogs and they'll all wind up in the dregs. But the funny part of it is that the only thing it'll erase there is the entheta. The freedom will not erase. All these good qualities freedom, presence, demonstrated abilities they don't erase at all. It is not a quantitative quality, it is simply qualitative. Mass is quantitative but freedom isn't. The only thing that can happen to life even though the individual is actually totally free the only thing that he can do is turn around and fixate his attention on some kind of a mass and then say, "I am part of that mass." But why does he do this? Because he wants it to be free, too. And that is the pathetic part of existence. The only traps that can possibly exist, exist because of a desire to further free or further help things that are in trouble, things that are in mass. As we can see, little has changed! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Let's Close the Door... When unknown management of the Church of Scientology sets prices for services at an inflationary and unattainable (for most) rate, that is oppression. When you, as an individual, have sold or mortgaged your home, maxed out your credit cards, borrowed from your friends or family, tried alternate money making solutions, possibly worked two jobs, then find yourself still financially blocked and realize that you can t do anything about it. That is suppression. Fortunately, the Church of Scientology no longer holds a monopoly on freedom, and all the wins and gains of standard tech, including the upper bridge, are available in the field at affordable rates. The incredible success stories emanating from the AAC attest to this. You now have a choice. When a flagrant out-point such as oppressive pricing goes uncorrected, when a majority of the A.O.L.A staff present at muster can say, yeah, get their money, and thinks that is funny (as was done in a muster in early February 1984 I was there), when Registrars encourage you to violate the conditions formulas by getting loans, it doesn t take a great deal of smarts to realize that this is symptomatic of a much deeper situation extant in the management of the Church of Scientology. What that situation may be exceeds the intent of this article, suffice to say that it is antipathetic to the aims and purposes of scientology itself. For you readers who are on the fence I need not reiterate the time, place, form and event of Dracula stories. If you have viewed them you will understand my following questions. If you have not, information is available on tapes, newsletters and debriefs. Is a group that wholesale offloads and/or excommunicates its long term producers a survival orientated group? Do you really want to support a group that cannibalized its missions? Are untenable prices ethical? How do we close the door to any possibility of out-tech? Not by backing up any group who condones, gang-bang Sec Checks. We will do it by studying C/S Series 1. Auditor Rights by LRH until we know it cold, and understand what a major action is, and a program is, and not allow ourselves to be, for example, Sec Checked if we are in the middle of an incomplete program such as NOTs. We will do it by training until we are certain what is standard and can say no when it isn t. And we will do it by active participation supporting those groups whose methods of control are the same methods of control that we would want to live with, in a New Civilization. But as anybody knows, to rescue his liege lord from the castle while beautifully armed with a skewer taken out of the cooking fire and while faced with a moat, bastions, Greek fire and very well accoutered and plated archers, is folly. If you want to define folly, it is somebody coming up to set you free. THE FREE BEING I think, as free beings, any freedom has to be maintained. Freedom is something you work at intelligently. Freedom without barriers of any kind is an unsupportable freedom. There's nothing to push against, nothing to be free of. And one cannot maintain his freedom in the face of an overt act of magnitude. SYMBOLS AND GROUP PROCESSING DEMO Whole populaces have gone to their death, whole civilizations have been destroyed, simply by people looking for freedom. The greatest slaveries ever established on Earth were established in the name of freedom. Everybody is trying to close terminals and locate it and so forth, and they were trying to find freedom by avoiding slavery. So, they closed terminals with slavery and there they were. Freedom was the opposite to slavery so they had to fight slavery in order to have freedom and that made slaves out of them. ENERGY EXTERIORIZATION Freedom could be defined as a condition resulting from the relative absence of barriers. THE PARTS OF MAN OVERT ACTS AND MOTIVATORS The impulse towards religion is to discover basic cause. This leads through these various vias and it's like walking this labyrinth. You don't find cause and effect that way. You find cause and effect by finding the highest level of freedom, assuming it and then knowing it. You will be cause and you are then capable of being an effect. APPLICATION OF GAMES TO PROCESSING A consistent study of freedom and no study of restriction will bring about a condition of everything going out the bottom. There will be no real progress or real gain and furthermore, there will not be a game. Very important. And if there is not a game, there is not life. Things will look pretty dead. In order to have a game, he has to have restriction in order to have some freedom. That's a very basic consideration which underlies practically everything on the track. You're never going to free anybody without giving him something to be free from. ~~ end ~~

13 Continued from page 7 We of the Church believe: That all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance. That all men have inalienable rights to conceive, choose, assist and support their own organizations, churches and governments. And that no agency less than God has the power to suspend or set aside these rights overtly or covertly. Of course, If the CST, the RTC and the Church of Scientology do not agree with the Creed of the Church of Scientology, or the definition of a scientologist as given in the church official list of definitions by virtue of their propensity to engage in legal frivolous suits, then of course, apart from being a church that does not follow it s own precepts, it could be questioned on it s stated motives for applying legal pressure for the protection of the trademark and copyrights that it does. The copyright and trademark laws were set up for the protection of financial interests of business and corporations and it is possible that the RTC and their responsible body of directors, The CST, could conceivably be held liable for the possible accusation of misuse of copyright and trademark laws and perverting the use of the legal system. Now that would be an interesting scenario! Of course no individual has the monopoly on the spiritual freedom of man. Anyone who deigned to consider themselves a god above all man and to maintain a tight grip on the only key to man s spiritual freedom, paid for and released only through exorbitant financial payments, is eventually going to go the way all past religions and organizations have gone which have attempted to monopolize freedom, and will incur the same derision by man that has been incurred before. Anyone who has made a serious study of the Koran and believes and follows the traditions of the Moslem faith is entitled to call themselves a Muslim. Anyone who has studiously studied the Bible and believes in Christ and what he stands for is entitled to call themselves a Christian. Anyone who has similarly made a study of scientology and follows and applies the traditions and practices thereof is also entitled to call themselves a scientologist. None of them are obliged by law to belong to or be subservient to any official church. Any attempt therefore to reduce ones inalienable right to their religious practice and their performance of scientology would be, at the very least, to any ethical and moral scientologist, a distasteful act, certainly not in the spirit of spiritual freedom which Ron Hubbard intended for the church or even for the spiritual freedom of this planet. There is also the question of course as to whether it is actually legal to do so constitutionally. The majority of the original scientologists who assisted Ron Hubbard in building up the Church have been ousted since his death. Even his late wife, a tireless supporter and major assistant in developing the technology is persona non gratia. One wonders, if Ron Hubbard were alive now, whether he would be ousted as a heretic and persona non gratia along with his original adherents. 15 Success Stories from the Freezone SAY IT LOUD, SAY IT CLEAR! CLEAR SUCCESSES Today at 1.13pm, 28th March 2006 I originated Clear! Leon, my auditor checked me and I attested to Clear!!! What a beautiful experience! I felt emptied of the baggage I had been carting around with me for eons and could experience me as myself. I do not wish to get esoteric or gushing about this, but truly it is a journey worth taking! I had done the hard yards with the C of S through my grades and had decided I needed a freer environment to complete my Solo and Clearing Course as I was experiencing stops; some perhaps of my own making. I came to New Zealand to work with Leon and I received complete ARC and found that I was able to work though my case without any enturbulation whatsoever. My OT levels await me, but at this point of time and after the long winding road I traveled I am taking this HUGE WIN and I am going to savor it. I can still hardly believe it. It's just that he can see the truth and his space is so big it spills over. All I can tell you, is that when Ken is on your side, it is all the way and unconditional. He is very learned, and not only that, a professional who has never gone into doubt in spite of every invitation to do so. He has been stable. He helped me and my family pull out of a very bad scene. He C/S d as if he were right in my living room looking at the pc. He is a remarkable man quite skilled in pulling people from black magic. He can be totally trusted. I trust Pierre, he amazed me that he could understand everything and be so far away on C/S lines. I had auditors in my house that had the PC right in front of them that didn't know things Pierre could understand from thousands of miles away. He is a win win terminal. I recommend if you ever connect with an auditor in the FZ you INSIST he is C/S d by Pierre. That man has talents you never even thought about. He is better than the C/S's I had at Flag as a public. He has an ability to care about the person in front of him, and not only that, but far far away from him. The results of his work are a testament of his far reaching love for people.
