13 THE GREATEST BARRIER TO SUCCESS IS THE FEAR OF FAILURE The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure says Sven Goran Erikson. It s the fear of failure which keeps most of us away from success. Everyone wants to be successful but most of us are afraid of failing. Success and failure seem to be two opposite words but to face so many failures is what leads to success. As it s rightly said that Failures are the stepping stones to success. Every successful person faces a series of failures in life but he is not afraid o them, he faces them, overcomes them, defeats them and finally become successful. As the golden words go, Every winner was once a participant who chose not to give up. Albert Einstein, Thomas Elva Edison, Bill Gates faced a lot of failures but they never gave up and are now known to us as the most successful people in the world. Failing doesn t mean that you are a failure FAIL means First Attempt IN Learning. No doubt, failures are not easy to swallow in fact there is no worse feeling than facing failures. They leave us bitter, angry, depressed, miserable and disappointed. But the desire to succeed is magnified when one fails. As time wears on our anger changes into motivation and strength which is required to succeed. But still many of us are afraid of failing. The fear of failure holds us back from accepting new challenges and if we don t accept new challenges, if we don't try anything new, how can we expect to succeed?
