Hero is the one, who is as vibrant as the Sun, Who is always on the run, Without time for any fun. He is the one who hides in a Burrow, For all bad thugs he is a fighting Guru. But a real hero is a person, Who follows the path of Dharma, to wipe out all of his karmas. A hero is someone who has the courage to oppose, But he is not the person to be found in a photo pose. 10 This inquisitiveness changed the way he looked at the enlightened ones. From an atheist he metamorphosed into a spiritual master. Born as an atheist in the land of gods, A young boy who learnt to meditate in the arati hall. Devoted his life to the nation, And inspired others to do the same. He proved the mightiness of the pen over the sword. Shackled by the encroachers of our country, As he fought for her freedom. In spite of all this the fire of patriotism burnt within. One trip had turned the tables of his life. The Himalayas turned his home, Soon the world was Inspired by the Ganges, He roared the words of Lord Krishna. Lighting the lamps of devotion was his way of service. When the odds are against us, His life gives us the strength to bounce back up. 11 My True Superheroes Superheroes protect and save the world, they say, But they are untrue and imaginary, aren t they? Our true heroes are the army, by the way, Away from family and comforts they stay, They work for our safety and protection all day. They have fleets of ships, trucks and jets, If any problem befalls us they are ready and set, Standing consciously and alert behind the fencing net, But appreciation and recognition from us they don t get, So we must be thankful, proud and applaud them with respect. 12 Every time you saw me outside your window You would dash to the door even when you couldn t Greeting me pressing your forehead And by patting your lips on my forehead Every ounce of information you shared with me for hours Will remain unforgotten Because its authenticity was certified by your intuitions Every step you took was planned with logic Every act of yours agreed with your ethics And so was your leaving Planned systematically and peacefully How can I ever forget How you taught me how to eat sweets? 16 Every night I look up at the stairs, Remembering the day, without any scars. I always remember our true superheroes, The true superheroes we really need to thank. Newspapers keep filling with mentions of them, Not for their achievements, but only their problems. While every citizen does about this, Ignorant, they remain, of their integral contributions. Be it serving our borders, or serving food on our plates, Their duties, they dutifully perform, not for praise. I think it s time to pay our true heroes respect, Soldiers and farmers!
