1 REGULAR MEETING at City Hall Petersburg, Illinois I. CALL TO ORDER Mayor Rick Snyder called the City Council to order at 7:20 p.m. II. PRELIMINARY MATTERS A. Members present were Mayor Rick Snyder, Aldermen Kevin Molohon, Bruce Gorman, Rick Sonnemaker, and Keith Wilson. Also present were Treasurer Dave Frick, City Clerk Ken Ortman and City Attorney Chris Sherer. B. Mayor Snyder led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. C. A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Grosboll to approve the agenda as Presented. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Grosboll, yes; Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the III. CITY CLERK A. The City Clerk presented the Warrant List and Accounts Payable. A motion was made by Alderman Wilson and seconded by Alderman Gorman to approve payment of the bills as listed on the Warrant List and Accounts Payable. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Grosboll, yes; Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION B. A motion was made by Alderman Wilson and seconded by Alderman Gorman to approve the minutes of March 5, 2019 Regular Meeting. 2 yes. Mayor Snyder declared the Entered Executive Session at 7:25 PM. E. A motion made by Alderman Wilson seconded by Alderman Gorman to resume the Regular Session. VOTES: Wilson, yes; Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Grosboll, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION Returned to Regular Session at 7:30 PM. IV. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS Alderman Sonnemaker arrived at 7:35 PM. A. Water A. Water Collector Georgia Ed gave the Water Collectors Report for February Questions as to if the Poultry Plant is current on their water bill with further discussion. A motion was made by Alderman Gorman and seconded by Alderman Wilson to approve the Water Collectors Report with adjustments and agreements as presented. VOTES: Sonnemaker, abstain; Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Grosboll, yes; Wilson, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the MOTION B. Water Superintendent gave the Monthly Report. Read meters in 2 days. Processed 8,152,000 gallons or potable water. The plant has furnace troubles and the whole system that the plant uses should be scrapped and a true Geo-thermal system installed. The company that came to look at it wants $7,000 to repair or $14,000 to replace it. B. Street A. The Department finished up with it s regular snow and ice removal, spreading a lot of Cinders. We moved the sand and dirt to the Poultry Plant lot. Helped the Water/Sewer Department with leaks and blockages. B. Discussion on the new Nursery area. C. Discussion on using the enzymes in the Sewer Lagoon or dredge it out. D. Alderman Wilson commented on the area north of the tracks on 5 th street needs to be set back up to give room of cars to pass. 2

3 E. Discussion on the drainage off Vineyard Hills Road. V. HEARING OF CITIZENS A. Brie Allison discussed the Drinking With Linclon & harvest Fest 5K. A motion made by Alderman Gorman to approve the road closures and map for the May 18 th Drinking Wish Lincoln 5K. VOTES: Gorman, yes; Molohon, yes; Grosboll, yes; Wilson, yes; Sonnemaker, yes. Mayor Snyder declared the VI. OFFICERS REPORTS A. Mayor s Report A. Discussion of the West Police Garage Door. The Motor went bad. The company said it would be between $ $1500 to replace the lift system. By Consensus of the Council we should get the door hardware replaced. B. Discussion on getting sidewalks around the square at various places and the awning post replacement. C. Discussion on BYOB for businesses in town. D. Check sent for the Railroad property on Douglas. B. Treasurer s Report The Treasure presented the Treasures Report. A motion made by Alderman Gorman seconded by Alderman Wilson to approve the Treasurers Report. 5 B. With the change of Governor the mayor didn t think the work on the bridge at the school would start this year as the incoming head of the IDOT will need some time to approve requests. NONE XI.
