1 0 CHARLES FILL ORE, SUNDAY, JANUARY 11, 1925 JUDGMENT AND EVRR PRESENT LIFE Matt. 25: The foundation of every lesson in the Scripture is the first chapter of Genesis. That is, I might include the second to third chapters because they all belong together. 're are told that this man, this king, when he entered into his - glory, which was prepared for him from the 2 foundation of the world,---what you authority had you for that? "Tell, we as I say have go back to the first chapter of Genesis. The first chapter of Genesis describes the creation by the infinite Father mind of 'a world but that world was not evidenced bect.use we are told in the second chapter of Genesis that there was no man to till the ground and not a blade of grass had grown. 2 3 describes an ideal creation..exactly like we, if we are about to do some great thing would plan out the details in our minds. That is the way that God works-and the acme, the highest point in this ideal creation as described in Genesis was a man who was the image and likeness of God and this man had dominion and power and glory and he was to have control over all thetings that God had idealized. The fishes of the sea, the fowls of the air, the beasts and even the creeping things. This man had power pnd dominion. But when he appeared as Adam tie was rather a weak man. He had the power to name the beasts of the field, that is he named them and whatever he called them that they became, and we see that that really is just the beginning of the work of the man in the elemontal forces. The whole Scripture an evolution of this ideal man and we always in explaining these lessons have to go back to

3 that foundation because withrbut that as a starting point we cannot understand how man comes into hin glory and sits on the throne of his glory With his angels with him and begins to judge the good and the evil and he becomes the master. It is mastery in the world. We cannot vtderttand this unless we know that there is a ran who is above the apparent man. In other words there is a man who has been endowed and has a heritage from the infinite mind of power 6 and dominion but there is another man, the Adam man who is rij:ht on the way to a realization of his majesty, his power and dominion. Now in this lesson today of the last judgment you take it eternally and it would appear that there was going to be a great judgment day in which we would all have to answer for what ;,e ha-1 done. ',Veil it isn't necessary to go into that. That is too far away, but we do find that judgment days are taking place `in us every day.

4 Today is judgment day to a growinrr. man and if you don't understand the creative law and if you haven't tried to grow in yourself, why 7on are like a dead clam. Jesus gave the illustration that he was the vine and you are the branches, but the Father is the husbandman. If the branch becones dead and that is a result of a failure to draw upon the great parent vine, if you dead and get withered you are cast into the fire. That is,.there is no growth, 8 no development in that kind of a mind consciousness. In this lesson in the preceding chapter we have two parables of the kingdom.- First is that of the ten 'virgins. Five of them, you remember, were wise and five were unwise surely. They didn't provide the oil neces.,ary to carry on the infinite life and when this btidegoom or this higher principle, the ideal man, began to express in them they were not prepared and they didn't get into the kingdom and Jesus gave another

5 parable, the one in the lesson today-of the talent. The landlord gave to his servants certain talents and when he came again he clairedhis or and he found that all but one had doubled the gift and that one had buried his talent and he came under condemnation. We all know what that means; that man must use his ability. That is what we are here for to use our talents. Then e come into this lesson where the king shall come in his glory and the man shall sit 10 on the throne of his i;lory with his angels judginf., all the tribes and separating the sheep from the-goats; it io a summing up of the activity of the different parts of a man's con:,cinusness and it T'rints to these places in our work where we begin Lo feel that there is a superior power in us and that in a way we have laid hold of it. Now it does not mean that we are going to go off- into the air. It does not mean that we are going to

6 11 have some great day when all the people will be put down into a dark hole and all begin to wriggle up into a bright place called heaven. But it refers to what is taking place every day in what I coil the developinf., regenerative. Christian. -vie every one, when we have a certain realization of what is taking place in us have this consciousness that we are glorified. Every one of 7ou who have worked in what we call the silence, who have begun to quicken that inner 12 spiritual nature will bear-tertimony that you have had your glorification but you don't always have a realizing sense right afterward that you had up to what you discern as a nossibility. That is exactly what the lesson teaches. We have thes times when all the angels or good thoughts seen to cluster about us. People tell me that sometines in an urlift, a great exaltation of the spirit they really see what they call angels.

7 13 They seem to be surrounded with those bright beings that are inciting them to higher 7,nd better thing& that they begin to feel. It is easy. All you have to do is to realize that I Am Spirit, that there is a spiritual man within me, that I am sitting on the throne of my dominion right now and all things are mine right now. But as I say, then after that you begin to sift out or clarify your conscious mind. This is the superconseious mind that we ascend into in these 14 tines of glory. That is the ideal mind. So many people think, "Oh that is just a day dream. I don't imagine all that. I would like to be what I sec and feel but I know it isn't possible. " They.think right down into an undisciplined state of mind. They don't separate the sheep from the goats. 8 1E, really a symbol. He separates the nations. Who ar the nations? They are neoole. 1-.M we really know about the world we get through our intuition and it is the quickening of these thoughts. The thoughts in the conscir'us and the subconscious. Now those thoughts are at work all the time. The law of evolution is going on in your mind and body but you are not really aware of it. Conciouly you are not aware of Jhat is going on. We would say that you have 16 dropped into your mind good ideas, iderie of truth and honesty. You have "I am honest, I am true and just and I act that way." Now there you have set going in your consciousness an honest, true just thought. 7hat be- cor-s of that? 7hy, you get t'-le reward. Through the law of the mind, the true word is planted in your mind and it goes through the process of growth. - There is a substance, the mind substance and tie thought goes through the various

9 17 elements in the ',rind exactly like nlantin7 the seed in the earth. If it is constantly aultur.-d it brings forth fruit. On the other hand supnoring you saw in your mind a healing thought, a deceptive,thought, an angry thought? What is the result? The srme process. Now you are building up this ideal man. That is the whole object of existence that you shall manifest God anal how do we manifest r'-od? Throur.h God man, through God ideal. Now if we have felt in our 18 minds good thoughts and through the process of the various elements that enter into our being so,1l and body, the conscious and the subconscious and the super conscious, why we are building character a?id these good thoughts are unconsciously to us ministering to the good. This is the explanation of this ministry that the good thoughts didn't know anything about. They say: "Why when should wet--when the higher principle, the rhrist, commends them

10 19 for the good that they have done, visited him when he was sick and when he was in prison they fed him and gave him this and that. They sf-lid: "When did we do that?" In other words there was no nonsoiousness of that and yet it was going on all.the time. Nov that is a sure sign or indication that no good is ever really lost. Some people think: "Well, I have been unjustly treated; I haven't got the result of the good that I have done." Whatever rood you ever 20 did it is workirg out today and somewhere for you and you will get the reward. The Christ will commend you. But on the other hand all the unjust!houctts you ever had, all of those combative thoughts: and those angry thoh7hts, you will get the result of those. They are ministering to this man in you and they will crop out at some time in your world and many of us are getting eertain results that are apparently adverse an we wonder where they came from. Some people say:

11 21 "I never did such awful things as I did in my experience. If there is a just law it must be there is an unjust God." Now nothing of the kind. It is all the result of the way you have worked your problem through thinking and now that you have an understanding of your power and*dominion you can straighten all this out. You don't have to submit to all the thoughts you ever had. All you have to do is to know there is a superior 22 principle and that that principle guides and directs.?then one has entered into the understanding, that Christ is good he doesn't go out judging people. Christ saiid: "I cane not to judge the world. Judge not that you be not judge because with the judgment you judge 3r-Al will - be judged." o this lesson is not about judging the world. We are not here to judge people. All I. have. to do is to take care of my own thoughts. If I live morally and truly in my

12 23 family and i. myself above all things then they won't have to make any laws for me and they won't need -any policemen at all. If you adjust yourself to the Ohrist 10 )u you will be a law abiding citizen. Everybody 'ill trust you, but unless you do that, you haven't done it in the past why there is a chance for you---you won't be kicked out in hell right away. There is a chance for every one cf us and this is through the discipline by the I Am in you, by 24 the higher principle, that directive pov - of your thoughts.. In other words you must have these adjustments. You must judge yourself; you rust judge yourself and I must say th',.t every day to a mbtaphysician who is follojing Chtist is a day of judgment and We find that when the error thoughts cone up in consciousness we have to put them under discipline. That is explained in this lesson. It does not to go into everlasting hell fire, that is the

13 25 verse, but they should come under discipline. They should go into a correction and the good thou g hts should enter into a continuous life. It does not say we are eternally alive but this abiding life, abounding fn life, that means that they should continue up to a certain point and when the higher realms of good or higher ideals of good?--we change our ideals of good so I would not want the ideal of good I have today to alv:rays be just. that same understanding because my ideal of 26 is renlitve in my present unfoldment. So this is all covered by the original so Isaching that it should be an abiding, a dividing idea of good, and/of the e7ril. that theywere under discipline and that they should tet the reward of all that they had ever done, all that the good had been sown in the consciousness was to bring forth and also all the error. But the man had the paver, sitting on the throne of his dominion, judging the twelve tribes. He had that power to bring

14 27 forth according tc the divine law. Now there is a divine law. Don't forget that. Don't think that you are nakinz: the lair, that -ou are a law maker, but there is a divine law. There was in the beginning given to you the perfect ideal manhood and womanhood because this great creative spirit is both male and female and we have implanted within us thase principles and in the bring forth of the perfect man we must drown out allot this masculine and "feminine, the love anl 28 the widom. le should rejoice treally that the Spirit is unfolding to us this capacity of the man to sit upon the throne of dominion judging his on character, judging cwn w-mk-esles and his own strength, but out of it all he ii to bring to supreme power of that glory which he had. Jesus said, "In the beginning." When is the beginning? To one who understands and realizes omnipresence it Is right now. is the beginning of a new growth for every one

Now is the beginning of a new world, a new nsciiusness, and when we realize that ani ask tl-e great mind to put us upon the throne of dorinion, to give us that power and glory which we had, that spirit before we entered into discipline we shall have a great realization, we shall have a great spiritual baptism, a great uplift and we will know what it is to be a master in Christ. Now this applies to all of us. God has no especially selected people that he is 30 going to give the kingdom to. The kingdom belongs to every overcomer. "to him that overcometh will I give to stt with me upon my throne." That is what this spiritual idea, the image and likeness of God s the great Jehovah or God is saying to every one of us. Are we realizing `.hat divine message? Are we wil'ing to change our thoughts? We enter into this day of judgment. It is a matter that rests with individual. Are you willing to sift your thoughts? Some people think they are sanctified already, thbt beca-se they get the concept of this spiritual man that they have already entered into it, but that isn't the teaching of Jesus. You rust increase your talents. You must be prepared with the oil op life and you must sit 11.1)^n tic throne of glory, put the good thoughts in #eir right place, and the error thoughts, just let them go off in the great universal discipline. Now let us 32 all give thanks for this spiritual understaading and the understanding brings a great consolation -to us and thankfulness that we do -know the law and that greater is he that ruleth hip own spirit than he that taketh a city.
