1 The Monthly Newsletter of the Department of Human Resource Development Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat September, 2014 Vol. 4, No. 9 How to Stop Rapes By Yasmin Soni (MHRD Semester I, Div A, DHRD, VNSGU) Aab kya kahu apne desh ke bare me iska to republic bhi ab rape-public ho gaya hai Today s era is called the women empowerment era, it is a women empowerment era in which a 51 year old tourist is gang raped, it is a women empowerment era in which innocent girls are raped and hanged by trees. Very shocking. Pick up the newspaper of any day and you will find at least one news of a women being raped but you will hardly find any effective actions taken by government. You know the reason why because we live in a male dominated society but this society should always remember that rape is not a women s issue but it s about men who have stopped behaving like human beings and have started behaving like animals. But we still need to cater the problem of rape, according to me there are few ways through which we can solve this problem. Few of them are: (1) In an Indian family system we give lot of importance to the upbringing of a girl child we always want a shanskari girl but we do not concentrate on the upbringing of a boy child. If a boy also gets proper upbringing than the rate at which this criminal mind are producing may reduce. (2) Our justice system is also so complex that the trauma that the victim faces during the assault is less than the trauma she faces during the prosecution process. And even the punishment that these criminal minds are getting is also not that much scary. The punishment should be such that the criminal should get Goosebumps thinking the consequences of it. To them I want to say that saf bharat ki tammana aab hamare dil me hai papiyo ko fasi na do ye zindagi hi unki saza hai logo ke man pe ghav karke aasan maut tum le chale sikha do unko kudrat ka kanoon jo diya hai wahi mila hai (3) The human resource that we have to protect the human resource of the whole country is very less so basically your security is in your hand. Every person, indifferent to the gender should be very selective for the clothes that they wear outside their house. Your clothes may be provocative and it might hurt some other innocent person. (4) All the parents need to train their children some for kind of self defense from the childhood. Even schools can implement this. To all those parents I want to say that don t make your daughter as moon so that everyone stare her but make your daughter as sun so that everyone will think twice before even raising their eyes. 1
2 (5) Today s generation is called tech savvy generation so we can take help of many safety app that are available for free. There are apps available in market with different kinds of usage. Some of them are SOS app, safety pin app, scream loud app, bsafe app, b with u app. (6) If we say that god is partial in distributing strength than god is even partial in distributing mind. God has given us a very strong sixth sense in judging the situation and people. Like Spiderman we all have our inbuilt makdi ghanti what we need to do is identify those sense on time and take action. (7) Even society is also very selfish when it s about helping others. In the Nirbhaya case they were lying on the road for an hour and nobody helped them. See, we cannot stop the rapes completely but we can reduce the rate at which it is happening. To run a car named society you need to have all of its wheel running in a proper condition, if any of its wheels is punctured than the car won t run so we cannot keep the women s issue in isolation. Women are the beautiful creation of god, do not harm them. Imagine this world without women, it will be hell Na manugi me har jab tak na rukega striyo pe aatyachar agar na badla ravaiya e sarsar to na darugi lene se kanoon ho haath khud hi kharidugi licensed revolver aur katar aur khud hi niptugi in darindo se taki na karpaye koi ramsingh balatkaar Meaning of Human Life By Honey Goklani (MHRD Semester I, Div A, DHRD, VNSGU) Who am I? Why am I here? Where have I come from? What s the purpose? As the word Human Life strikes, these are the most obvious questions that arise. A big question mark. And the search is still going on. We all have our own different perspectives of life. More are the number of people, more the perspectives. Like for example, for some of us, Life is merry making, Friends, Family, Travelling, Adventures, Huge Mansions, Posh cars. While for some others, it s Duty, Job, Social Responsibilities and Service. While for some others, it s just like passing time, growing up, getting degrees, having family, getting older and then finally dying. While from some, u may hear that Life is Love and knowledge. Numerous perspectives. Now coming to my perspective of life, Life according to me is a Gift. First of all, let s all feel lucky that we have taken birth in a Human body, the most beautiful creation of God. Only we humans out of the whole creation have both the Spiritual as well as the Material benefits. First let me make both the terms very clear. Spirituality means Of the spirit, of the soul. We are not the body, but the soul. Materialism means the worldly matter, things & desires, the entanglements, commonly known as Moh-Maaya. And now Human life is a perfect blend of both. If any one goes missing, life is incomplete. Human life is fully based on these two aspects, Spirituality & Materialism. They are like the two legs which are equally important to maintain a perfect balance, the balance required to achieve the purpose of life. Yes, we are here for a Purpose, a very strong one. 2
3 Now, I would first start with the Spiritual aspect. It starts with the soul s finding the human body. So many souls compete to get a human body, the most beautiful creation. It is said that the human body is the fastest and the shortcut way to get over with the liabilities which we carry of the past lives called Karma. Yes, the reason of coming to the world is to balance the karma sheet, to get over with the liabilities, to pay back. Why do people die? When do people die? The answer is - When they are done with their karma, when their role in the universe is over. Ever thought why in any calamity or accident, some people die while some remain alive despite incurring the same amount of injury and loss to the body? The answer is, their role in the universe is yet not over. They still have their karmas to complete. And now the reasons why human life is considered the shortest and easiest way are the miseries involved. Human life possesses more miseries than any other living creature. So they are the fastest creatures to attain Moksha/Salvation. Now coming to the Material aspect, the worldly matter, I would say, no matter what happens, Life is a Celebration. Now when we are here anyway, in this universe, for some specific period of time, which is beyond our control, why not be happy & peaceful, why not be cheerful & joyful, because anyway we don t have choice. This is it, howsoever it is. So why not stay happy. Why not accept. In fact, how about exploring the world, discovering the self? How about meeting new people, making friends? How about setting a higher goal in life, chasing your passion, living life with enthusiasm, making merry? Isn t it wiser? Getting a human life is a big deal. Yes! Fortune! So why not seize the opportunity. We just have this life. Grab it. There s life in every moment, we just need to accept. Do more of what makes u happy, makes u smile and sing and dance. Set a higher and broader goal for life, for humanity. Pursue your career with passion and hard work. Take some social project. Being a productive and useful citizen is a great feeling. Experience it. Because ultimately everyone is going to die one day, so why live a passive life. Why not make a difference? Why not contribute something for this society and universe, for the future generations to come? And yes, this life would be too short for cribbing, complaining and being sad, trust me, too short. So why not accepting life as it comes, after all, now we have so many big roles to play, reasons to smile and goals to be achieved? So stop thinking too much and start living. Just believe that you re blessed. Love yourself! Smile and gift smiles. Live and love every moment. Start being happy right now, because Tomorrow is NOT promised!!
