SO, YOU WANT TO BE A GIANT SLAYER?

1 Do we want to be a giant slayer? A city builder, a city taker, a nation builder? We don t have to fear the giants because they are part of the drama. There is no Promised Land if there are no giants. God allowed the giants to rise to let us know that anything is possible and no giant can stand in the way. No government or man can stand in the way when God has planned. All things will work together for good. The enemy will stop completely over our lives. We are meant for great things and not meant to be defeated or become a failure. We must not allow all these things to happen. His plan is to take us across. Even in the darkest hour there is light. He called light forth out of darkness and healing out of sickness. There is so much darkness but when God said, Let there be light, light came forth. He spoke and things came into being. This is our Father and the same DNA is inside of us. Do you want to be a giant slayer? We slay the works of the enemy and get them out of the territory. The Lord will teach us how to fight this battle against the work of the enemy. 1Sa 16:1 Now the LORD said to Samuel, "How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have selected a king for Myself among his sons." 1Sa 16:2 But Samuel said, "How can I go? When Saul hears of it, he will kill me." And the LORD said, "Take a heifer with you and say, `I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.' 1Sa 16:3 "You shall invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do; and you shall anoint for Me the one whom I designate to you." If we want to be a giant slayer, we must be sure that God has selected us. Without a shadow of doubt, God knew whom He was selecting. For every crisis there is a right 1 1

2 man. In Acts 6, there was problem in the church but God raised up seven men. God will give us the right people, purpose, contacts, etc. He will select us. God wants us to go beyond survival. He is not just protecting us but also look at how we protect the things He gave us. God is choosing us and watching us and looking at us. Every aspect of our life will be scrutinized. God don t want to raise up Saul. Saul is a human choice but David is a supernatural choice. God will put His hands upon our lives. He will train us and equip us. We will be sure that we are not doubting. When we enter the battle we will know that Goliath will fall just like the lion and the bear. We will know for sure that what God is doing in our life will become better. We will have the confidence in our heart. Even the prophet thought wrong of the choice that God made. Sometimes we think only the strong will fight Goliath. 1Sa 16:12 So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is he." 1. God will select. Our physical appearance is just for identification but what is inside must start a long time ago. We are not a giant slayer tomorrow. We have to be trained for the purpose. We must become choice instrument in God s hands. What price are we willing to pay? We must be separated by God can deal with our life and we can be ready. God does not raise up failures but those who can succeed. It takes many years to bring forth a giant slayer. God will not struggle with us. God will not select one that is not ready. The eyes of the Lord look to and fro for God looks for those with perfect heart. We will have the ingredient in our heart to stand against the enemy. God will hand pick us and designate us. We have to replace Saul. He will put the man at the top, the one that He did not choose so that one day we can take over. We may be in the cave but God can feel us and hear our conversation. The man is made and God made the man. 2 2

3 Do you want to be a giant slayer? Let God work in our heart because He is working towards a purpose. We cannot be great unless the Great One is living inside of us. 2. God will identify us from the crowd God must separate us from the crowd. If we are part of the crowd, we won t be able to do any significant change but be killed by the crowd pressure. When God rejected Saul, He has found another. When He rejects, He finds. He has trained the man to be ready. We can be separated from the crowd and God will say this is the man. We don t have to show ourselves off or throw ourselves into the market. Just remain who we are because God knows what we need and don t need. God will select us and identify us. The prophetic people will know. God will make us different. We cannot be like the crowd or else we will not make any difference. When we arrive on the scene, things will happen in a special way. People will speak and talk that we are different. 1Sa 16:18 Then one of the young men said, "Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is a skillful musician, a mighty man of valor, a warrior, one prudent in speech, and a handsome man; and the LORD is with him." Our testimony will be strong and people can identify. We will be identified from the crowd. We will be the select arrow. There will be more good apples than the bad ones. God will throw the bad apples out. The things that are in our life will set us apart. We will not look like them and think like them because we are made from a different hand. 3 3

4 3. God will anoint us and the Spirit of God will increase Always make ourselves available for greater things. Don t be too busy doing all the natural things or things that we should not be doing. We are not available because the job took most of our time. We won t be able to give the best of our time because our time has been given to something else. God will select us and train us. Don t pass through the earth without letting people know that you ve been around because we create a significant impact to our surrounding or family. If God selects us, He will be working in our life. We prepare and prepare just like the water running over the rocks and the rocks are shaped until one day David took the stones that slain Goliath. One day we will be found in the hands of God to be at the moment of glory. One significant move and the world will change. A lot of people don t know that God is working in their life and that s why they think that they are not getting any better. Those who are meant for greatness will never get distracted because they will always be thinking of the hour and time for greater things. They know that they are supposed to go up to another level but they are still at the bottom because of their own thinking. Every time we come for the conference, our mind will be adjusted. Our mind mocks us and put us to shame. We must take back our mind so that we will be thinking well. It s not possible that God brings us so far and He drops us. It does not matter how many giants or laws the world pass, the Lord sits on the throne and God will bring us up higher. 1Sa 16:17 So Saul said to his servants, "Provide for me now a man who can play well and bring him to me." The Spirit of the Lord will come upon us mightily. God has greater plans upon our lives. God will anoint us and from that day onwards, we will be trained by 4 4

5 the Holy Spirit. When someone is taken over by the Holy Spirit, we don t need to be followed up. We don t need baby sitters. We must get into the water and don t depend on people. We must work hard for our future and our destiny. 4. Listen to the father s instruction. Be very careful because God is raising father and mother, for us to learn obedience. God will put a lot of things into the pastor or leaders. God will bring us home to our house so that we can know our father, mother, brothers, and things that go around the family. The servants had more food to eat compared to the prodigal son. God is a family man. If we want to have a great future, we must know where we are born. We must know our father and mother because God trains us in our natural home. The devil create problems and relationship problems; suspecting one another and bring unkind to one another. Due to this, the life of the pastor flowing into our life is gone. The enemy can short circuit what is from the above. When we lost the connection, everything is lost. We will start to withdraw because the line of connection is disconnected. It is not possible that God put us in the house and never provide food to us. If God puts us in the home and into the father and mother s hands, we will receive the resources. In the Storehouse, we will receive all that is needed. God is merciful to us and that s why He raises us into a family. Listen to the father because his instructions will lead us closer to God. 1Sa 17:17 Then Jesse said to David his son, "Take now for your brothers an ephah of this roasted grain and these ten loaves and run to the camp to your brothers. 1Sa 17:18 "Bring also these ten cuts of cheese to the commander of their thousand, and look into the welfare of your brothers, and bring back news of them. 5 5

6 Start with our father s assignment and God will give us our own. Bring back the report. Sometime certain things happen in the house with instructions. When we follow the instructions, conditions and commands, God will bless us. We will be able to do things more in a single day even though all of us have 24 hours. Ask for a hard thing and we will have reply from the Father. Ask for the nations and ask for the cities. Learn to honor our father and mother regardless of the situations. If we learn this dimension we will be well because in the home we have been set right. We must start with our father s assignment and God will give us our own. When we discover God s will, we will realize we lack a lot. That s why it is good to start early so that we can chart our course and get ready. Don t wait until we go into the university to only find out we are at the wrong course. If our parents are spiritual, listen to them well. If no, listen to the spiritual parents. The instructions we receive in the house is so important and vital. So many people in the church suffer because they only allow the pastor to give them spiritual food but not the natural ones; such as finding a wife, future, etc. Use the pastor s experience and not abuse him so that we can have a guide and save our life. 5. Don t become distracted from the assignment by the conflict with our brothers 1Sa 17:28 Now Eliab his oldest brother heard when he spoke to the men; and Eliab's anger burned against David and he said, "Why have you come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your insolence and the wickedness of your heart; for you have come down in order to see the battle." 1Sa 17:29 But David said, "What have I done now? Was it not just a question?" 6 6

7 When we find God s assignment, we must not consult flesh and blood. Consolidate inside our heart what needs to be done and it will be outworked. Joseph had a dream but how he explained it put him into trouble. It s not wrong to have a dream but the dream is not meant to divide brothers. Don t share the dream to establish our own seat. Jesus did not bring Himself unto glory but to bring many sons unto glory. We are part of the same team. Don t kill one another in friendly fire. Struggles and conflicts must come to an end. We have an assignment to do. David trained 4 others to become giant slayers. If we want to become a giant slayer, train others. If we can song lead, teach others to song lead so that they can do the same as what we can do. 7 7
