2 Full name: Bharatbhai Mehta Birthdate: January 31, 1954 Birthplace: Jamnagar (Saurashtra) Father: Popatlal Vitthaldas Mehta Mother: Hiraben Popatlal Mehta Siblings: Kalpanaben, Bhavnaben (Dedicated sisters - Gunatit Jyot) Education: Mechanical Engineer LME - VJTI, Mumbai Bharatbhai is a leading dedicated sadhak brother in Powai temple in Mumbai. When he first met Kakaji, he felt that he belonged to Kakaji and Kakaji belonged to him. Bharatbhai used to attend the sabhas in Kandivali that were held by Mahendra Bapu. He was a bright student. He was sincere and meticulous and exhibited great patience in the work that he did. Under Bapu's guidance, he started coming to Tardev and attended prayers and shibirs. Due to his good handwriting, Kakaji used to assign him the special service of writing articles based on Kakaji's dictation. In performing this service, he became very close to Kakaji and within four years of meeting Kakaji, he decided to live as a sadhak at Tardev temple. Due to his patient style and service, he pleased Kantikaka and other elders of the satsang too. He took great interest in the problems of fellow devotees and in this way, earned the grace of Kakaji. Kakaji blessed him as a saint beyond mind. Kakaji even said that one of the happiest days of his life was Bharatbhai's birthday. After Kakaji passed away, Bharatbhai took care of the social and spiritual progress of the devotees at Tardev. Today, Bharatbhai is an inspiration to sadhaks and devotees around the world. His focus on prayer and spiritual discourses transforms the lives of everyone that comes into his contact. Full name: Hemantbhai Vashi Birthdate: July 7, 1953 Birthplace: Poonee (South Gujarat) Father: Ishvarlal Dahyabhai Vashi Mother: Sumitraben Ishvarlal Vashi Siblings: Ajitbhai (Nirmaljivan Swami - Sankarda), Harshadbhai, Anantbhai Education: Chartered Accountant Vashibhai is a beloved sadhak brother in Powai temple in Mumbai. In a short time after meeting Kakaji, he dedicated his life to Kakaji's service. While living in Tardev temple, he became a chartered accountant. Kakaji and Kantikaka would continually entrust Vashibhai with various responsibilities and Vashibhai would enthusiastically take care of everything. After Kakaji passed away, not only did Vashibhai continue to handle much of the responsibilities of Tardev temple, he also personally took care of many devotees that had a relationship with Kakaji. While living in Tardev, at Kakaji's request, he performed mahaapoojaa every morning. That tradition continues to this day. When Vashibhai performs mahaapoojaa, he becomes so engrossed that everyone attending feels the presence of God and his prayers are always answered. Vashibhai continues to work professionally as the Chief Financial Officer of a multinational corporation. Despite holding such a formidable post, his humility, friendliness, innocence and excitement are unique. His dynamic nature compliments Bharatbhai's quiet one and the two of them inspire devotees around the world. The youth hold a special place in his heart and he works tirelessly for their spiritual and social welfare. His progressive ideas and outlook constantly inspires all devotees to move forward. 2
3 Devotees Experiences with Dinkar Uncle Satsang Times, Volume 2, Issue 9 Daskaka: Gunatitanand Swami s Discourses gives the analogy of a dirty river meeting the great ocean. Regardless of our past, we all have merged into the divine ocean that is Dinkaruncle and are thus enjoying a brahmroop/divine life. There are many times in my life where Dinkaruncle gave me tough commands when I look back at them, I see how he expertly ensured that I remain only progressing in satsang. Ketanbhai: I came to America under the banner of Kaka Papa Swami (KPS is the name of his business). And with every single step of my life, Dinkaruncle has guided me and made me happy. I pray to remain in the glory of his identity as a Gunatit Saint and serve all devotees. Pintubhai: Dinkaruncle plays many roles in each of our lives, one of them is our Guru, from which he gives us invaluable lessons: to keep good company; to resort to chanting; to be steadfast in our vows; and many more. At the core we pray to do that which pleases you. Leenaben: I first met Dinkaruncle in India when he came to our home. When he saw Amit, he asked me whose son is he? And I naturally said he is yours. Today I can see that he inspired such words, and is guiding at every step to lead a divine life. Melanieben: I did not come from a Hindu background, but intensely prayed to experience God. When I met Dinkaruncle through Bhavnaben, I felt he was the answer to my prayers. It s like in the popular Harry Potter series there is this magical school and it is real! Tejalben: First, I thank Rakeshbhai and family for bringing me into this satsang. On such a divine day, I offer prayers that we never see negative in anyone and live a life where we commit no mistakes. Chandrakantbhai: One way to look at the theme of samjan (understanding) and seva (service) as brahmroop is with what understanding we see Dinkaruncle (and then be in service). Through my brother-in-law Harshadbhai, I learned that Dinkaruncle was an engineer, and thus asked if he could help inspect a new home I was looking to purchase in Waukegan. He helped me with utmost sincerity. But soon I realized that my understanding of him should be at a greater level. And that level was shown by Kakaji, Papaji and Swamiji themselves they gave the understanding to us that Dinkaruncle is a gunatit saint. When Dinkaruncle was asked to reveal his essence, he answered Bapu and so we pray to also understand Bapu. Tulshiram: I was introduced to the SwamiNarayan satsang through my wife, Savitaben. In my village in India, we learned many scientific theories that were not grounded in application. But coming to America, I was amazed to see their full application to make life more efficient and comfortable. Similarly, Dinkaruncle lives a satsang which applies the tales of Hindu scriptures in dayto-day life. One manifestation of this application is the love that is evident amongst the satsang families, which is felt to be even stronger than that of a real family! I asked many questions to Dinkaruncle and he logically satisfied all of my inquiries; but now I think questions are unending, but what is important is to remain with 100% faith. 3
4 Emilyben: First, I am grateful to listen to everyone and humbled that I have this opportunity to speak. I was a truth-seeker, and though I took steps in the spiritual direction, I felt as if I were lost in a jungle. Then Melanieben introduced me to Dinkaruncle, Bapu and the satsang. Now, I am enjoying a spiritual roadway in the company of fellow devotees. Shilpaben: I learned about the SwamiNarayan satsang from Swamiji and Dinkaruncle when I married into Daskaka s family. In innumerable incidences at school, with my family, and at work, Dinkaruncle has been a personal source of strength and inspiration. He has now brought me to the stage where I want to accept God as the all-doer, and hence remain blissful. Rachnaben: Dinkar Uncle has given me many miraculous experiences. One of them was my admission to Northwestern University s Allergy Program. But the real miracle was helping me focus on the important things in life. When in medical school, there is a tendency to get caught up in studies and continually wanting to do better. With satsang, by grace I was able to meet career goals, but yet live a positive life. Beyond that, I pray to Dinkaruncle to fulfill the mission to become brahmroop. Bhaveshbhai: God s saint has the qualities of atmanishtha (conviction of one s identity as a soul), svaroopnishtha (faith in the manifest form of God), and svadharmanishtha (adherence to one s code of conduct). The gunatit saint additionally possesses the qualities of samta (spiritual equanimity), suhradbhav (friendliness), sarvadeshiyata (equality of vision), and sadhuta (deep humility and simplicity). We can see all these qualities in Dinkaruncle. Jyotiben explained that now that we have met the gunatit saint, what needs to be done is to not see negative in anyone and just enjoy the association of fellow devotees. I turned 40, and pray to continue my life in the service of satsang. Sahaj: I was in satsang from the time I was in my mother s womb (Sahaj is Vibhaben and Vinodbhai s son). I along with my friends like Drushal have felt Dinkaruncle s unconditional love towards all. Smruti: By seeing Dinkaruncle online (discourses are webcast live on kakaji.org) and by his visits to our home in Lincoln, IL, Dinkaruncle has taught me the meaning of SwamiNarayan, the value of dhun/chanting, and how to be compassionate and never get upset. Lorenaben: I came to satsang through my husband, Alokji. Alokji met Tulsiram at his work. Since then, I have witnessed Dinkaruncle spending all his time selflessly helping others. That is true with my family as well. Dinkaruncle teaches how to flip any situation around and see it in a positive light. I pray to get rid of my ego and also have the internal strength to live that way. Anwaji: Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu Tvameva Mata I have other friends in the Amma satsang that also enjoy the SwamiNarayan satsang. Scriptures talk about the quality of being equipoised. We naturally see that in Dinkaruncle. When he eats, everything is the same to him. I read a book about Malcolm X in which he says you can know a lot about a person by the way he eats. Second, when Dinkaruncle walks, you never see him in a hurry. He gives the same patient time and love to everyone that comes in his contact. I too pray on his birthday to practice leading such a divine life. 4
