I'm heartily sorry about all the trouble there has been and that we have had. I lost my head often enough under the terrible onslaught of what Groden was doing to me. I still find it amazing that he turns things around so that he is the abused party. Its true I fight back, but only after a lot of water passes under the bridge. Its as though he never went to my press conference in New York in 1992 and handed out mug shots of me to the world's press, or never told GeraIda and countless others that I was an ex convict who did time in prison for child molestation, that I molested his kids, that I stole a $100,000 from him. He said this after he told me that if I did not give him a lot of money, he would ruin my reputation. With lies. I have done all I can in this life to be honorable and decent. I made child abuse a national issue and I was scrupulously honest with Groden. Now so many people close to him have given us affidavits that he said these things. The lies were so terrible I almost died from them in the fall of Berkley's lawyers came to my house to look at all my records, and the police investigated me for a full year, coming here every day or calling because of his charges that I stole from him. here I had shared my book with him, written long before. Then they all apologized and he gave up the copyright to the first book, which he had nothing to do with writing, and signed a release saying I owed him nothing. Nobody knows the full extent of the horror he brought to me, and yet he can say these things that I read in the AP dispatch yo sent. I did everything I could to help him until I discovered that he had the secret deal with Stone and that he had given or sold the manuscript of High Treason to Jim Marrs who used some of it, not thinking that I would self publish the book, that Groden then had to get his name on somehow and try to bury it that way. He almost stopped the Berkley publication but I saved it. He has betrayed his wife and everybody who ever helped him, robbing Peggy and so on and on. I feel that my life is materially shortened because of five years of terrible strain. He has us in court and has cost us $200,000, none of which was of benefit to him. C & G's lawyer has notified the Federal Court that we are filing a counter claim. 15

3 The enclosed DD 214 on "Captain Robert Groden" was passed to me and is bogus. It will take awhile to figure out what his real background is. The #SS, birthdate, and name are accurate and his. I trust you will keep it to yourself. His former lawyer, the president of a draft board, is working on it, along with others. He has made enough enemies to hang him, and I'm sorry to see Feinman go down with him, because, that is what is going to happen. I will insure it. I'm glad I helped Random's lawyers and they thanked me for it in writing. I saw it as a First Amendment issue, just as I think you have a right to be heard and told C & G that. I despise Posner and told them that too, and they know now, from me, just how fraudulent his book is. At lease we are not enemies. They didn't publish my mug shot!
