Inspiration comes from a completely different place. The word inspiration means to be in spirit. Or you may write a book in 30 days. Motivation, on the other hand, usually has a lot to do with fake growth. You have to hold yourself back from starting right now. You feel called to do this; the feeling comes from your core. You feel it in your bones. How we define inspiration and motivation I asked a few people on Twitter what their thoughts were, and here were some of my favorite responses: Inspiration is having a glimpse of who you really are. Inspiration is the pull. But how do we actually stay inspired? Being inspired is about a constant process of realignment. All it involves is drawing inward and exploring what you really want. Your home cosmography, as Thoreau put it. So, what do you really want? Not what should you want, not what you think might be a good idea for you to want. What lights you up? Bathe in it, savor it. 3 Chapter 3 : Inspirational Quotes â Live, Love, Simple. The Failure Belief. It was December of I realized up until this point that I needed something different in my life. Things were not going in the direction that I wanted to. Disclosure Inspirational Quotes I am one of those people who is crazy about quotes. I collect quotes from everywhere. When someone says something that strikes me, I have to write it down so that I can remember it. I write quotes down in notebooks, on napkins, and on the backs of receipts. I love how there is an appropriate quote for just about everything that happens in my life. My very favourite ones are highlighted in bold. I am not afraid. I was born to do this. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do. Many people are afraid of the dark, but the real tragedy is those who are afraid of the light. I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night. The only time you run out of chances is when you stop taking them. In order to dominate the soul you must also learn to dominate the body. And in order to dominate the body you cannot fear pain. Every shadowâ no matter how deepâ is threatened by morning light. Anxiety is just repeatedly experiencing failure in advance. By acting bravely we become brave; not the other way round. Forgiveness is choosing to love. It is the first skill of self-giving love. Forgiveness is the fragrance the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it. An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind. The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have helped you. The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy. The only reason you are happy is because you choose to be happy. Happiness is a choice, and so is suffering. Identify your problems but give your power and energy to solutions. You must choose between your attachments and happiness. Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true. The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails. In every life we have some trouble, but when you worry you make it double. The sanest thing in this world is love. The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread. When two people fall in love, past and future disappear. Without this, love is an illusion, a confused attachment. Love is the beginning of the journey, its end, and the journey itself. Detachment is not indifference. Detachment is love without expecting anything in return. There is only love; there is nothing else. When I work fourteen hours a day, seven days a week, I get lucky. Opportunities multiply as they are seized. The most important thing about art is to work. Nothing else matters except sitting down every day and trying. Everyone wants to be strong and self sufficient, but few are willing to put in the work necessary to achieve worthy goals. Not failure, but low aim, is the crime. In great attempts it is glorious even to fail. He has to eat. Do what you can, where you are, with what you have. The Pearl Principle â no inner irritation, no pearl. Discipline is an exercise of repetition. Not once or twice but until. We only get to play this game one time, one life. Ask not what the world needs; ask what makes you come alive, and then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive. We are not here merely to make a living. We are here to enrich the world. Let go and let God. God long ago drew a circle in the sand exactly around the spot where you are standing right now. You were never not coming here. Remember that when you truly want something, the entire Universe conspires to make it happen. There will come a time when you believe everything is finished. That will be the beginning. When you let go of the need for any and all outcomes life becomes a creative magical adventure. To me faith means not worrying. Whatever isâ is best. Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly. The present moment is the still point around which the universe arises and subsides, only to be reborn again, fresh as a new born child. With the past, I have nothing to do; nor with the future. Begin at once to live, and count each day as a separate life. Never grow a wishbone, daughter, where your backbone ought to be. Whatever I fight weakens me. Whatever I cooperate with strengthens me. There is one grand lie: The only limits we have are the limits we believe. The people you have to lie to, own you. The things you have to lie about, own you. I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies; for the hardest victory is over self. The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure. There are three ways to Page 3

4 lead: As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence actually liberates others. Many people have gone a lot farther than they thought they could because someone else thought they could. Nature goes to the same place to create a galaxy of stars: That place is Spirit. It is by spending oneself that one becomes rich. The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven. There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is. In the right light, at the right time, everything is extraordinary. Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there. Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Your own soul is nourished when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel. My every thought has the power either to wound or heal. I will use my thoughts wisely and respect their power. Before you speak, ask yourself: We are never so much disposed to quarrel with others as when we are dissatisfied with ourselves. I find his podcasts completely inspiring, as you get the whole truth. His guests are spot on, and deliver the truth, their struggles, and what they did to get passed them. Always a good pick me up. Pat Flynn Pat Flynn runs smartpassiveincome. He accidentally discovered hundred of visitors a day were using his online notes to pass the LEED exam, and created a complete passive income stream through online marketing. What I love about Pat is that he is transparent. He is a goofy guy, and it comes through in his podcasts. He shows how much and where his money is coming from.
