Turbulent Position in Banking Industry : Struggling Time for Trade Unions Comrades, you might have been reading in the newspapers or listening to T.V. news, now-a-days, the present time is not congenial/favourable as far as demands of our working unions are concerned. The XIth B.P.S. talks has been failed as the IBA/Govt. has offered 2% hike in the salaries of our working staff. It is a humiliation to the staff of all banks, especially State Bank of India, who worked from morning to night during demonetization days and are also on the front of any scheme launched by the Govt. just like opening of Jan-Dhan Yojna accounts etc. running into crores in numbers. In return what they have achieved. With the involvement of the working staff for such risky works, the employees and the officers were always on the front. Do they deserve 2% hike? It is just mockery of IBA towards bank employees. Instead, the working staff should have been encouraged with reasonable hike in their wage revision. SBI Associations of Award Staff & Officers, under the banner of U.F.B.U. are going to two days strike on 30th & 31st May, 2018 to protest against the IBA/Govt. decision. Comrades, we pensioners are also indirectly involved in the struggle as many of our demands are likely to be taken by our representatives of the working unions. 1 The Court case filed by United Bank of India in the Hon'ble Supreme Court for 100% D.A. neutralization, unfortunately has been declined by the Court. It is a set back for our just demand of 100% D.A. neutralization of pre-2002 retirees. Regarding revision of 30% Family Pension, updation of pension etc. our SBI working unions are very kind enough to take up the matter whether these relates to IBA or with the Corporate Office. We wish them all the best for their 100% success of 30th & 31st May, 2018 Strike so that IBA/ Govt.'s eyes may be opened and accept the very geunine demands & respectable Wage revision of XIth B.P.S.
