1 How to Live an Enlightened Life by Kip Mazuy

2 A Few Comments About the CDs First, a little bit about the Pure 5 CD set: There are a couple of tracks that have a new way of transmitting Shakti. The first track on CD3 called Kundalini Kali and the first track on CD4 called Purnam. Kundalini Kali carries a certain set of energy strands that awaken the kundalini pathway along the spine. I hesitate to say this because this may or may not be your experience as everyone s meditation experience will be different. But let s say this energy, the ecstatic Shakti that rushes from the base of the spine up the spine and out the top of your head is transferred through the sounds on this track. Unlike the other tracks on this piece, Kundalini Kali is quite dramatic and fierce in parts. It is probably not a track you want to just play in the background but rather you might want to sit down and really listen to it. The more you can treat this track as sacred, the more you will probably get out of it. What I mean by sacred is to give your full attention to it, even prepare yourself with one of the breathing techniques or chants provided before you listen to it. If you really allow yourself to be taken away by this Kundalini Kali, then amazing things can happen for you. And although there are rumors circling around the internet about the danger of kundalini awakening, it is completely safe to listen to this track. I would not offer it to the public otherwise. Ultimately the track awakens peace and love. And there cannot be any harm in that. But it is a track you want to be in the mood for. If you do not resonate with it, leave it alone. Meditate with the other tracks and then after a while come back to it. I would actually recommend to everyone to meditate with one or more of the other tracks first until you get used to the feeling of energy that is on these CDs.

3 The reason I suggest this and these are only suggestions is because it is important to be open to what is on this track. If there is judgment about it, if there is resistance, then you will probably not get much out of it and may lose the opportunity of what it can offer. But if you feel that bliss that this track offers and you really cherish that bliss, then this track in itself can bring about incredible states of freedom. All of the other tracks can also, just as much as Kundalini Kali. But the other tracks are more passive while Kundalini Kali is an in-your-face kind of track at least for the first half of it. It can bring about an instant shift in consciousness if you are in tune with it. If you really love it every time you listen to it, it may be one you listen to all of the time. But perhaps it might be a track you put on every once in a while when you have that time and space to really allow yourself to get into it. I don t want to say how it will be one way or the other, just to offer suggestions. Both Kundalini Kali and Purnam awaken the energies of Bhava, the feeling of absorption in the Divine, whether the divine for you is consciousness, is a Guru, is a God or as love itself it does not matter. Purnam is more passive but is also quite unique in the energy that it emits. I don t really want to make suggestions on how to listen to it but just to point out that the energy on this track is unique to the others and just be conscious of how you experience it and find what works best for you. I don t want to make out that these 2 tracks are better than the others because they are not. They are just unique in what they can do. All of the tracks on these CDs will awaken you into your true nature of peace. Make use of them. Be respectful of what these CDs can do. This is not some binaural beat technology that changes your brainwaves. They emit what is called in the East The Grace of the Guru. And to me there is nothing more amazing than that grace.

4 How to Live an Enlightened Life I wish to make a statement: The essence of what you are is pure peace, pure love, pure bliss, pure consciousness. At least, these words are the best pointers to the essence of what you are. Question is: why is the earth not filled with people sitting silently in bliss and love if that is the essence of what we are? My answer is (and I could be completely wrong, I could be crazy as a bedbug) is that we have separated ourselves from the essence of what we are. Or to rephrase that more truthfully: we are actively separating ourselves from the essence of what we are. How are we doing that? Through resisting this moment; through resisting being in this moment, distracting ourselves from this moment; through not experiencing this moment as it is. And mainly we do that through identifying with out thinking. Through our thinking, we have a name, we are a person separate from everything else. And we define that separation through definitions, judgments, desires, fears etc. More simply, because we identify with our thinking as the truth, we have been habitually perceiving our world solely through mental perception. And that mental perception separates us from experiencing the essence of what is here. It separates us from experiencing what is here beyond that mental perception. At the greatest identification, we may identify with a thought or a desire so much that we are not even aware of where we are. Ever watch someone just bump into things? Drive cars off the road into mailboxes? It was on the news recently someone used superglue on their lips thinking it was lip balm, had to call emergency and say mmmmm into the phone as alarming as she could because she had

5 a cold and was afraid she would suffocate. If you are worried about this poor lady, please be assured she is fine but did not want her name to be used on the news. Was she half asleep? Or was she so involved with her thinking that she did not even realize what she was doing? More seriously, it causes people to murder because they were identified so strongly with a thought, a belief or even an emotion that the thought itself bypassed their own nature of peace to the extreme of taking a life, even though it meant most likely the end of their life too in some shape or form. Someone says something hurtful to you, it is said once. But how many times does your mind repeat it and with that, how many times do you feel that hurt again and again? Some people carry anger around with them. So everything they see makes them angry. Every tiny thing that happens causes a reaction of anger. Not because of the tiny thing, but because all they can see and feel is anger. They carry it with them. Not that thinking is wrong and should be stopped. Thinking is normal. It is how we function, communicate, and overcome every day challenges. How could I make my fruit smoothie without thinking about it? How could I know how to make an e-book? But if we could learn to experience this moment directly, without using our mental perception, we would realize and experience that the essence of everything is one conscious bliss. And that this essence is infinite, so there is no one certain experience but rather it is expanding out into infinity yet as the one conscious bliss. That means there is no limit to the joy we could experience. It could mean feeling an underlying experience of peace, bliss and wellbeing underneath all experiences. It could mean experiencing orgasmic ecstasy, or love so deep it makes you weep or laugh or dance. Or silence so pure and peaceful you don t want to move. Or devotion so sweet you just want to love everything.

6 It could mean walking through the mall and experiencing no separation, just infinite energy moving through itself like waves of bliss. It could mean you feel the whole universe as you and you as the whole universe. Or it could mean sitting in your chair and feeling absolute contentment just sitting in your chair. It could mean in meditation you experience other worlds happening at the same time, things you could not even explain in words It could even mean being angry, feeling hurt, feeling sad, yet at the same time experiencing the unconditional bliss that is at the essence of the anger, at the essence of hurt. Even better, we begin to vibrate bliss, we begin to emit peace out into the world without even doing it. We begin to radiate Shakti which we will talk about soon. And that brings peace to our whole environment; it changes the vibration of the whole world. But better than all of this, it frees us from ourselves. It frees us from being stuck in this contraction of me, or being stuck in my wants, my fears, my problems, my opinions, my hatred. It frees us from this feeling of separation so that we can live life fully as life itself, as love itself. I am very passionate about this. I want to convey the limitless joy that is your natural state. You can experience peace so profound; the pleasure of it just makes everything else seem silly. In this is not some experience you attain or acquire, it is your essence. And if you can get past this contraction of solely being identified with your thinking, if you could surrender your idea of yourself and experience this moment directly without mental interpretation, you would realize something so amazing it cannot be put into words. So now if we could just close our eyes, stop thinking and experience this moment directly, we can all open them in a few minutes and Santa will have delivered divine bliss and then we can go surfing...

7 You still here? What happened? If you did stop thinking for a few seconds, and there was nothing there, then there was a little bit of peace. But then what happened? Either a thought enticed you to leave that nice empty peace or it just got too darn uncomfortable. There is that habitual resistance to jump back into thinking; to jump back into my thoughts, my desires, my fulfillment So we can practice. Every day for an hour or 10 we can sit down and try and not to think and when we are pulled back into thinking, we can bring out attention back to being present again. And then when you go completely bonkers please do not sue me. As a matter of fact, this is a practice in itself. Arduous, painful, uncomfortable but if you really want a challenge that s a good one. But don t expect bliss anytime soon. Rather expect discomfort and learn to transcend that discomfort. But if you would like bliss sooner than later and would like to make the process a whole lot faster, easier and more powerful there is Shakti, the energy that awakens you into self realization. For thousands of years, the main way you received Shakti was from a self realized being, one who naturally radiates Shakti. Shakti has been my main focus for the last 21 years of my life. I have sought out and spent time with Gurus all over the world just to be in their presence. The teachings were always secondary and over time became pretty much obsolete as the Shakti itself guides you into enlightened awareness. In all honesty, in my experience, to say you want to experience your essence of unconditional bliss without the help of Shakti, is like saying you want to go to the moon but just by flapping your arms. Because Shakti is the energy of enlightenment. It is the energy that arises out of your essence, that is your essence in the form of energy

8 and it awakens you back into your essence. And Shakti is intelligent, it knows exactly what to do, far better than you know or anyone knows to awaken you into enlightenment. It will even guide you towards practicing certain things, eating certain things, refraining from certain things. The more you allow yourself to just feel it, the more it awakens you to the truth of what you are. It is like a blind man trying to drive across the country. He probably is not going to get very far. He is going to bump into a lot of things, it probably will hurt. And more likely than not, after he s run over his fifth mailbox, he ll give up. Shakti is the person that says Hey, I m from where you are going and I will drive you. And for the most part, you sit and enjoy the ride. Shakti itself takes you there. But it is far more than that. Because Shakti is enlightenment in the form of energy. It is unconditional peace in the form of energy. It is the very vibration of bliss. So in some ways, enlightenment has come to you. Bliss comes to you. And ultimately it reveals that the bliss is what you are. It burns away all of the blindness until you see what you are. And this is what the CDs do. They are Shakti in the form of sound. And frankly by buying these CDs and listening to them as much as you can, I have no doubt you just changed the direction of your life towards a greater happiness, greater love, greater peace and greater bliss. And this bliss will wash through your outer life also. Depending on how much you commit to it, how much you fall in love with it, it could open up things for you I could not even begin to explain. Shakti is the most magical miracle I have ever come across. Just by listening to the music in the background will have a great effect. But know every time you sit down, close your eyes and give your full attention to this moment while listening to the music, great things are happening. A daily routine of meditating with the music combined with listening in the background as much as is comfortable, even while sleeping if you feel comfortable with it will have a profound effect on your life. This is not some mind altering scheme, nor is it a new age idea of playing certain frequencies or anything like that. This is the real thing,

9 using the thousands-of-years old tradition of bringing you into unconditional peace through the Grace of the Guru but modernizing it by turning it into sound and putting it on CD. As you receive Shakti, it begins to vibrate every cell of your body and mind back to its natural state of peace. And then over time your very body begins to emit Shakti. You become a vibration of peace. So now you can sit down, listen to the CD and the Shakti will awaken you into deep meditation and bliss. How that will manifest for you will be unique for you. I could say the more advanced you are in your meditation practice, the faster and more powerful it would be for you but it is not true. Some people who have never before meditated hear the CDs for the first time and experience incredible bliss instantly. I have many testimonials like this. I also have many testimonials from people who have been meditating for years saying it has opened up things for them that are beyond words. So I cannot say one way or the other. But I can say the greatest obstacle to Shakti and all meditation for that matter is arrogance; spiritual arrogance especially, spiritual egotism. If people approach meditation holding on to how much they think they know about meditation then that holding on to what they know will separate them from meditation. If you come into meditation expecting a certain experience, having a certain opinion about it then already you have separated yourself from this moment. So please, leave all your judgments and knowledge aside and let the CDs take you to peace. Allow everything in this moment to be as it is and rest in that without trying to make it different. In that allowing, you will start to feel the peace. And once you start feeling the peace nourishing every cell of your body, it will be easy to just let go and feel. In fact, the deeper you go into meditation, the less you know about it, all words and concepts disappear. Even the idea of a you who can know something disappears. It all merges back into consciousness, into bliss, and you experience the mystery. And even after tasting that mystery, when you come back into mental perception, the mind cannot understand it like it understands other things. It cannot label it, judge it and place it in a box. It can only

10 recognize that something was there that was beyond all understanding and the mind surrenders to that and rests in perfect peace. The mind becomes full of wonder, full of awe. Ever see a very young baby looking at the world fresh and new? You become more and more like that. The E-book Absence is Bliss that came with The Calling 3 CD set talked about all the things that deepen your bliss. Things like eating a light and healthy diet, moving away from meat, sugar and junk food however much is possible, avoiding overeating, staying away from drugs, alcohol and stimulants, getting exercise every day, any exercise that gets you breathing heavy. These are the main things that should be addressed so that the energy channels of your body can take the Shakti moving through them. Otherwise it can be uncomfortable. The energy will come up against blocks in the body and it can feel very uncomfortable, even painful in a way. So it is important to keep the body as clear, light and healthy as possible. It is not that you have to follow certain rules otherwise you can t meditate, but rather I listed the things that in my experience make it much easier to move deep in meditation and then it is up to you to follow what works for you and what doesn t. The E-book 5 Paths to Spiritual Awakening that came with Infinite Sky talked about 5 different approaches to Self Realization and meditation techniques for each of those approaches. So if you are following the teachings from these two E-books and meditating with the CDs every day, you should be coming along very nicely. If you are meditating with me on the free group phone meditations, that should also bring you much deeper into meditation. If you feel that bliss or love connection with me on the phone calls, then beautiful things will open up for you. Really, a lot of it comes down to commitment. How much are you willing to give to grow into deeper peace and bliss. How important is it to you. Because there is no set way for everyone. Everyone wants something different.

11 Some maybe happy to listen to the CDs for a few minutes once a day or once a week or so to feel recharged. Some may not want to meditate at all and just listen to the CDs while they do other things. Some listen to the CDs once through while they fall asleep, or while they do art. I have no interest in telling you the correct way to use the CDs because it will be unique to you according to what you want to get out of it. If you are fulfilled with your life as it is, doing the things you do then why change it? But if you are not fully satisfied, if you have that hunger to go deeper: If you find yourself doing other things that are supposed to be fun yet you are not having fun. If you feel that yearning for more peace, if you feel separate from peace, separate from love and you yearn for that connection, if you have that inner desire to come home into bliss, then pay attention to those feelings. Let them guide you into giving more to meditation. If you feel discontent, then make the promise to yourself to meditate with the CDs for the time and consistency that works for you. If you wake up in the morning and you feel unhappy, if you feel worried about all of those things you have to do in the day then don t let that rule you. First thing, put on one of the CDs, sit up and meditate in the way that works for you. Even if it is for 5 minutes. Even if you are sitting on the toilet. Use the time to be in bliss. Any time you find yourself just distracting yourself to pass the time; things like facebook or television and you really aren t enjoying it, you are just passing the time, use that time to meditate, use that time to play the CDs and feel what is here in this moment. It will make a huge difference. When you are driving to work, instead of listening to talk back radio and drinking your Starbucks while being stuck in traffic, why not silently repeat a mantra or silently repeat I am with every breath and notice that feeling of simply being. Whatever works for you, turn those mundane times into meditation. While you are waiting in the doctors office, bring your mp3 player or portable CD player with headphones and listen to the music. While you are grocery shopping (you always will see my headphones on

12 while running errands.) While you are traveling on a bus, plane or train, use that time to listen to the music and be in bliss. Don t let a stressful environment make you stressed, use the CDs and meditation techniques to keep you in bliss. Once you discover you can be blissful and it is easy as putting on the CDs, then make use of it. Fill all the unhappy or mundane parts of your day with bliss. If you can t listen to the music, you can still watch your breath or practice another meditation technique or spiritual practice. The point is to turn every part of your life that is not fulfilling into fulfillment. It is not to say become a monk. Everyone has things they love to do. I love surfing. I don t bring the headphones with me when I surf. I am enthralled with surfing. But if you are doing things that are not actually fun but are supposed to be, why bother? Like going to parties: some people love to go to parties. For me, I would rather go to the dentist. I would never go to a party. At least at the dentist I can meditate with my music while they inflict pain on me for ridiculous amounts of money. I remember back in college realizing how unhappy I was at parties and instead sitting in my dormitory room on a Saturday night meditating even before I felt any bliss, when meditation was hard and uncomfortable. Still, trying to be with that discomfort was so much more fulfilling than going to a party. I recognized I was not satisfied with doing the college things, I was not satisfied with life as a student, and even though meditation was not delivering me much joy, there was something just in that giving, just in that discipline which was fulfilling. My point is not that you should not go to parties, but find what you actually like to do. Find what fulfills you. Don t settle for doing things just because everyone else is doing them. There are things you have to do, make those as conscious as possible. Most of us have to work, so give yourself over to work while you are working. Whatever task at hand, give yourself fully to that task

13 without focusing on the outcome. If you have to make a phone call, give your attention fully to that phone call. Don t let your mind control you with what it wants or doesn t want to do, what it thinks is too hard or too overwhelming or no fun. Giving in to the mind in this way will only lead to unhappiness. You have responsibilities, give yourself wholeheartedly to those responsibilities and you will feel love in your heart, you will feel a joy and purity that is deeply satisfying. But beyond that you have a certain amount of time to do what you want. Find out what is most important for you in that time. Don t ever waste it. The clock is ticking. Spiritual life is not about becoming a celibate monk but rather living life to its fullest in this moment. And that does not mean cliff diving, it means doing what fulfills you, doing what is most important to you. Be aware of those times when you are doing something that is supposed to be fun, what society says is fun, but you are not having fun. And then either find a way to become conscious in those activities so it is fulfilling or drop them all together. For some people spending time with their family is most important. So in that time, are you conscious and loving with your family? Is your family together in a way that is fun and loving or are you feeling tension and negativity? If there is, change your attention. Play the CDs, try to be accepting of everyone, conscious with everyone. Bring awareness into the environment. For most people everything is on automatic. Their reactions are automatic, their responses are automatic. Even if someone is speaking to them, they are not listening, they only hear the response they will say before the person is even finished. There is no life being lived in such a response, in that way of living. The mind is ruling you. The thoughts and emotions are ruling you. You don t have a say in it if you are just reacting like that; if you are just hypnotized by thinking. Only when you stop being mesmerized by the thoughts can you be

14 alive. If you let a little bit of silence into this moment, if you allow the thoughts to be as they are, the emotions to be as they are, and let them be without being involved with them, then you can rest in this moment. Then you can be alive in this moment. And you will feel it. Feeling this moment may not be comfortable at first. It may be uncomfortable, so you surrender to that discomfort. You allow yourself to feel however it feels to exist in this moment. You will find that in order to feel this moment, you have to surrender your ego. You have to surrender that thinking me that has an opinion about this moment, that has preferences and ideas about how this moment should be. And in surrendering that me, you really find out who you are, your attention moves past the mental noise and you begin to experience the essence of what you are, the purity of being, that sense of just being, as consciousness. And that is fulfillment itself. So if you are sitting in your living room and your children are screaming at each other and the automatic reaction is to yell at them, take a moment and accept everything that is happening, allow everything, allow your reaction without having to express it. You will feel a surge of energy that is behind that reaction. And if you can allow that surge of energy it will be blissful, it will transform you in that very moment, it will change you. And then when you open your mouth, it will not be some habitual reaction from your past, it will be fresh and new. It will be alive. Not matter what is said. It may not be all peaceful and loving, it maybe harsh. But if it has life behind it, if it is not a reaction but the natural movement of energy in this moment, it will have no violence in it, it will have love in it. It will be love itself. If you find yourself late at night flipping through the channels of your television or flipping through the internet looking for some distraction, realize the unhappiness in that. You are just wanting life to pass you by while you remain distracted. So realize the unhappiness in that and shut the television or computer off and play the CDs, meditate, chant, do a breathing exercise, go outside and breathe the night air. Feel the bliss of being alive in this moment. Even if it is not blissful, feel how it feels to be alive in this moment.

15 You will find in this way that the greatest joy does not come from getting, it comes from giving. It is normal that the ego perspective wants to know in every situation What s in it for me? Everyone enters meditation in quest for more peace, more bliss, more freedom. But as you progress in meditation, you realize the joy is not in getting some great experience, it is in the love of giving. I am not talking about becoming Mother Theresa (unless of course you are moved to do so) but giving in the form of giving yourself to this moment, giving your attention to this moment, surrendering your ego mind to this moment, bowing to this moment and allowing yourself to experience this moment exactly as it is. Because then you really start to feel life is sacred. This moment is sacred. This moment will no longer be an obstacle to getting where you want to be. You will recognize the joy of being alive. Not as an idea, but at the greatest depths of your being, there is the joy of living, of just being alive. You are alive in this moment. You are not alive tomorrow, you are not alive yesterday. Only thinking makes it so. But undeniably life is happening in this moment. Whatever you are doing, driving you kids to school, answering s, eating breakfast. If you give your attention completely to that you will be living an enlightened life. If you turn the mundane tasks into spiritual practice then life will become fulfilling. Sometimes that may be doing a mantra, listening to the CDs, watching your thoughts. Sometimes it will just be about allowing yourself to be as you are; just surrendering into this moment, allowing everything to be as it is and experiencing that. If you can taste that bliss then you know it is possible to live in bliss. Then you practice what works for you and you keep tasting it more and more. Then you find ways to live in that bliss; to make every situation about bliss. You bring consciousness to every moment, you begin living in every moment. You no longer are afraid of feeling what is here, even if it is painful, because you will feel the bliss that is the essence of that pain and that is also transcendent of that pain.

16 And the more you make every moment about bliss, the more it will guide you in that. The less you will look to your intellectual mind for answers through books but rather you will feel the answers. Should I stay a gym teacher or should I move to Colorado and become a ski instructor? You won t think it out until the stress makes you immobile, rather you will feel it. Not emotionally, but as energy. You will feel the peace or expansion in moving towards being a ski instructor or a gym teacher. You will feel it in your heart. Because if you don t feel it in your heart, it is not real. If I ask you why you don t like someone that you don t like, you can give me a list of reasons why you don t like them. But if I ask you about someone you really love why you love them, you won t be able to give me an answer. Because it is a feeling that goes beyond emotion, beyond words. If you ask someone why they love someone and they give you a list of reasons, you know their heart is closed; that they are stuck in their mind. That is because love is beyond the mind. Love is at the essence of everything. And once you begin to taste that essence, it guides you towards itself. It brings you home. We all have to go through what we have to go through. The ego/mind has the idea that we can escape that. We can just have good times and no bad times. We can all be rich, successful and good looking and have all the sex and chocolate we want. But life is as it is in this moment. It does not matter if you believe in karma or not, this moment is as it is. The outer life will always swing from happy times, to not so happy times. Some things we do have control over, some things we don t. We know if we eat crappy food, we will feel crappy. We know if we drink alcohol, we will become imbalanced in our bodies. We know if we spend time with self destructive people, self destructive things will happen. So a lot of unhappiness can be avoided through living a conscious and healthy life for sure. But the ebb and flow will still be there. And by allowing that ebb and flow and either witnessing it or resting in the peace that is underneath it, or resting in the feeling of being or simply surrendering, then you really feel the bliss that does not go away, that

17 is what you are. So now you have the tools and the knowledge to move deeper into self realization, to live an enlightened life, to move into greater and greater depths of peace. You have the CDs that will awaken the bliss, the knowledge from the other E-books about what is good for meditation and what isn t, the spiritual paths and meditation techniques that are incredibly effective, so you should be good. But still there are practices that can be added. Techniques that help purify the mind and body and help awaken the energy, or awareness or feelings of devotion and love. In my personal experience you should explore all of the valid practices and use the ones that work for you. So in the second E-book, providing you bought the 5 CD set, I will give you a whole bunch of different breathing techniques, toning techniques, chants that you may find incredibly helpful to make your feel more clear and open for the bliss to move through as well as bring you into a deeper connection with the truth of what you are.
